Because Nigeria is not the only country importing grains from war-torn Ukraine grin grin
Peter Obi is an hypocrite. In the picture below. His tummy is likely filled with donated Ukrainian wheat which the Egyptians must have fed him grin

It is very ignorant for Peter Obi to say that it is a "national disgrace" for Nigeria to receive food aid from Ukraine because it is a war-torn country. Peter Obi needs to be educated about Ukraine and wheat.

Please fact-check me: Egypt received food aid from Ukraine long before Nigeria did. And Egypt is still dependent on Ukraine for 60% of its wheat and much of its fertiliser needs. Yet, Egypt is a country that Peter Obi praises. Obi even went to Egypt to study their economy. The attached photo was taken when Obi was visiting and praising Egypt. In fact, Obi is looking well fed in this photo. Maybe the Egyptians fed him a LOT from the WHEAT donated to them by Ukraine.

It is not everything that we must politicise. Ukraine is the world's seventh-largest wheat producer, and the war in Ukraine has not affected her position. The whole world was affected when Ukrainian wheat could not hit the market, and the World Trade Organisation, led by a Nigerian, helped to organise a deal with Russia that allowed Ukrainian wheat to get to countries like America. Please Google it. Ukrainian wheat is not only bought by America but it is also being used as food aid to multiple countries. Obi should stop politicising hunger!

Nothing happened, just a project done without business environment study

Nigerians are too poor for such project, the percentage of Nigerians that can patronize such business are too small and widely spread to make such business a success

Is like building a 5 star hotel in say Osun or ebonyi or sokoto village and asking what killed it

Nigerians like shinny projects and don't care about their viability

Cocoa house, Buhari rail lines, Lagos blue and red lines, most state airports... Same rubbish Otti wants to build in Abia

Nigerians need to go and watch 2019 Osibanjo vs Peter obi debate again... That was were obi won me over

You don't develop by building infrastructure, malls, rail system etc

You develop by investing in your people access to credit, building basic needed infrastructure like few roads, hospitals and schools

Once the population is rich enough infrastructure would naturally come up

If Nigerians GDP per capita was $15k n above tinapa won't fail, in fact we would have 50 more
When he was Anambra governor, he increased school fees and to defend himself, he said the statement below. Let's not even talk about doctors, healthcare & workers that were on strike for 13 months in Anambra, his deportation on non Anambra Igbos, Teachers going on strike, while he buys around 200 Ford vehicles from coscharis for Anambra kings, judges (to buy elections), and politicians. You can only deceive the gullible indomie generation kids.

Tinapa was killed by YORUBA.

Immediately Tinapa DIED, they started the LEKKI FREE TRADE ZONE.

Now, the zone in Lekki is dead also, because the planning and implementation was hurriedly conceived by useless and envious people.

Same people that used Propaganda to kill development in the SS will soon tell you that IGBOs killed Tinapa.

Anybody from SS that believes YORUBA Propaganda against IGBOs is a fool.

Tinapa will resurrect under a sovereign nation.

Nuff said
Construction of Lekki free trade zone was started in 2002.

Tinapa resort start of construction was signed on January 14, 2005.

You are an extremely bad liar.

Business / Re: Naira Depreciates To N1,620/$ At Parallel Market by adamusuleiman1: 10:24pm On Mar 04
treesun:
Naira, on Monday, depreciated to N1,620/$ at the parallel section of the foreign exchange market.

The figure represents N20 or 1.25 percent depreciation compared to the N1,600 it traded on March 1, 2024.

Speaking to TheCable, currency traders in Lagos, also known as bureau de change (BDC) operators, quoted the buying rate of the greenback at N1,580 and the selling price at N1,620 — leaving a profit margin of N40.

At the official window, the naira gained 0.9 percent to trade at N1,534.19/$ on Monday — from N1,548.25 per dollar on March 1.

According to data from FMDQ Securities, a platform that oversees foreign exchange trading in Nigeria, the local currency hit an intra-day trading high of N1,600.75 and a low of N1,425.35.

Meanwhile, Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on February 28, 2024, said the naira is undervalued largely due to distortions by perpetrators in the foreign exchange market.

“As and when we come up with these distortions, we will take them off and throw them away and where there are distortions that come about as a result of bad behaviour, we will ensure that those who do it will face the music as a deterrent to ensure that others in future do not take that route,” Cardoso said.

He said the perpetrators confuse the FX market.

1.25% depreciation, and you are dancing leg work.. It's an exchange rate system and would fluctuate..Don't forget to come back and update when it rises by 1.5% tomorrow for a % variance of 0.25.

this man you referred as having a mediocre record of public service as anambra state governor challenged all Nigerians and security agents on national television that if anyone can provide evidence of #1 naira he took from government treasury he will stop campaign and step down, this statement coming from a governor that managed billions in allocations, did not owe salary, pension , gratitude or contractors and still managed to save #75 billion naira for the incoming government is not mediocre,it is a miracle that has not happened in the history of nigeria.it further proves that with the right leadership Nigeria is salvageable, the strange case of abia state comes to mind how the right leadership has done in less than one year what 16 years of bad leadership did not accomplish,it has left the abia people stunned on what is possible
Obidients and lies are like a snail and it's shell.
