If he is actually a suspect, he wouldn't have been able to be going to US as he has being doing.
And do you remember that Tinubu attended Obama's swearing in ceremony in 2012?
So, shove it! Only blind followers don't know that forfeiture or payment of fine equals guilt in the U.S. legal system. He traded forfeiture for a lenient sentence which he complied with.. Had he run, he would have been a fugitive. Tickets are sold to highest bidders and folks with connections..so anybody with money could have bought a DNC ticket |

gogodaye: Go get a feel of how the institutions of the Nigerian state are run and are funded.............. All Revenue accruals are kept to shared amongst the 3 different tiers of government along parameters set down by RMFAC......... Both PGEJ and NOI, put up spirited resistance to the clamour by the 36 state governors for the sharing of the accruals saved in the ECA.......after blackmail in the press and a suit instituted at their behest.....the FG agreed to the sharing of what had been saved in that pool..... NOI, then proposed recourse to another saving alternative..... The Sovereign Wealth Fund.....which met another set of backlash from the 36 state governors with another law suit........but the FG stuck to its guns.....and that is all that we have as savings........ A little mastery of the goings on around would do us all a lot..... Theu keep blaming everybody but themselves! Why didn't PGEJ and NOI save FG's share for a rainy day like this?? Why didn't PGEJ and NOI pay marketers what had been appropriated for in 2014 fiscal yr?? |

Partial removal was accomplished with promise of using it to resuscitate the refineries. Even an attempt of this would have been most welcome....yet nothing, not a single bloody thing was done for 6 years to put them back on stream. we had high crude prices for over 2 years that could also have been pumped into maintaining the whole system was embezzled. You heap the blame on the people for wanting to eat their cake and have it without taking into consideration the historical and acute lack of trust and accountability between them and their leaders who expect them to take hits for them without any proof that it would actually be worth it. We never sit back to think. Even without this expose, who cared to know how revenues and disbursed?
Why do Nigerians focus on the federal while neglecting tge state govts closer to them?
Why do Nigerians support the oil marketers against the govt? And when the marketers arm twist the FG... they will cry foul
..... and very soon they will turn their anger towards the incoming govt without caring to look into details.
Crazy mob mentality is the bane of our followership and that is root of all the troubles. You are not making sense. FG kept abut %55 of what it had shared to the governors. Like Soludo asked,what prevented FG from saving its share of ECA?? Why did FG become profligate like states? Subsidy payments were appropriated in 2014 budget, time for FG to pay up!! Imagine if you are still owed for the work u did in 2014 when $1 was N160 and now being paid in 2015 when $1=N220-so Naira has lost 37%-for every N1000 owed in 2014, it's now worth N625 in real Naira value in 2015. Reference: That is not foolishness, it is wisdom. You are the one who needs wisdom. This line of jaundiced thought is so typical of Nigerians with their 'entitlement' mentality that robs them of the attitude of responsibility necessary for development. You my friend are not a farmer nor have the attitude of a farmer or businessman.
When you start your business kindly do not pay market prices for the goods and services you consume from your enterprise and let's see whether you will not end up like Nigeria. Reprobate people. The US is the largest producer of wheat. They formed the NewYork and Chicago mercantile exchanges which essentially sets the world prices of wheat and other essentials meaning the average US farmer knows that he gets international prices for his wheat and the US Confec. Industry buys there. Americans pay for American produced commodities at international prices. It is the producers that are incentified to produce more. Consumers are taxed upon the 'real' prices they pay. That is how to develop. So go farming the right way pal.
Shell's refineries in the US buy crude at international prices even though the US is the second biggest producer of crude. Why don't they subsidize. Black man and his ways. Chop, clean mouth and blame everyone else for tomorrow's poverty. Bloody entitlementists. But New York Mercantile Ex. sets the price for crude oil prices and future. How come we are not buying Cars, IPhones, Caterpillar, computers, Electronics at a globally set price run by cartel?? It would be nice to pay NYC price for cars in Naija. BTW, Buses and trains in Chicago and NYC are heavily subsidized- in Chicago u can ride all day for less than $3-N600-.. US farmers are subsidized almost 50% US cotton is cheaper than cotton produced in Mali because of govt subsidy! BTW, these so-called subsidies had been appropriated in 2014 budget, FG should pay up. What happened to the money FG saved from partial removal of subsidy How Nigerians are paying more now even that crude oil price is less than $60 than they did when it was $120?? |

989900: The above is correct, but it puts less strain on the dollar than;
1. Importation of refined petroleum products -- which is madness.
2. Foreign currencies demand/looting by our 'polithievians'.
3. And the faulty monetary policies operated by the FG/CBN, which ensures scarcity of the dollar=huge amount of Naira chasing few dollars -- scarcity=price hike . . . throw in Forex racketeering by the CBN,Banks,BDCs, and others. 1: Importation of refined crude- whose fault? Govt or the masses? Why can't govt build or award license to folks to build, then restrict dollar to importers of refined products? 2: why can't CBN peg bTA for me office holder of traveler's cheque? 3: faulty monetary policy cos we only sell crude and import everything.. I'm running my gen now. FG doesn't want to run out of $€ because it didn't save enough during oil boom days, therefore, it's suppressing the demand for $€ because it wants to use the reserve to fund part of the budget. |

From the responses here, it's clear that most NL members are bereft of how Naija economy works. From ur shoes-handbags to ur cellphone/computer how many of them have made in Nigeria tag?? None!' Foreign currencies are needed on daily basis to pay for these goods. Shipping companies and airlines all want to be paid in $$€€. CBN has restricted these payments without providing a viable alternative. This has resulted in pushing the price of $ up in the black market to $1-N223. Naija economy is import dependent cos we don't manufacure that much and Naija Naira is worthless piece of paper. |
