I don't know why you are bringing his parents into this, the thread that prompted this one made it clear that the car was parked, if his parents needed it, it's more than ok for him to give it to them, what I'm talking about is how I can be in need and him being able to help without helping so I don't know what you are getting at, the car was only used figuratively by me.

You obviously don't see anything wrong in a lady asking to have her BF's car when she in fact can't afford to have one or at least keep one maintained. So I created this thread to get better views on who/what people think/believe an independent woman is/should be. A lady (firstEva) talked about her boyfriend having two cars yet she has to 'trek' about town, asking if it isn't selfish of him not to give her one, now I see nothing wrong in her wanting to share her boyfriend's car, only thing is, she didn't ask but almost everyone sounded like she committed a heinous crime for even just harboring the thought of ever using his car, shior! .

I believe an independent woman is one who can take care of herself but that doesn't mean she can't ask her man for stuffs when she needs it and ofcourse he gets to do same.

Let's be honest, a lot of women are coming into marriage to take more that they can give. I met a young woman- working in finance, she's looking for a husband. She doesn't like cooking, cleaning, paying the bills etc. She wants a husband who's going to cook, work, pay the bills and clean. I told you her that she needs a slave not a husband.
In most cases, marriage is the easiest for a woman to climb out of poverty while it's the easiest way for a man to plunge into poverty.
