The bottom line is that certain changes can be made on your form in as much ad u have a valid and genuine document to back it up. Especially, errors in names, dob, and address . jt2010: To play the lottery, you only need to supply basic personal info which can still be corrected before submitting E-DV entry form to KCC.
Me I have no issue with this typical naija argument, but I know corrections is different from change.... the argument is about correction before submitting to KCC. Not your DOB. Stop running on fallacy of subjective experience. We have provided I with DV lottery rules and conditions - which are authentic and empirical, but u are still insisting that your OWN subjective experience trumps DV rules. It's ur Naija mentality of arguing that ur subjective experience is better than DV stated rules that you should be mad at. |

jt2010: Yes, you links are correct but as a person you seem not to understand the DV processes or argument... yes, you cannot change your personal info again after you have filled and submitted your E-DV entry form... but the op argument is base on changes between the winning entry personal info and the E-DV entry form. When you play the dv lottery, you only submit limited info, so when you are now selected, you need to submit detail personal info through the E-DV entry form... at the time of filling the E-DV entry form, you can make reasonable correction, but you cannot after submission of the E-DV entry form. When the first thread started there were more 'winners' than the actual winners, more cases of refusals and AP as a result of fake marriages, impostors and fake adoptions, mostly because genuine winners and fake ones got paired by an agent as husband and wife then documents are forged to keep the fraud going.
People who turned up for an interview but look nothing like the picture submitted when they entered the lottery. people who suddenly claimed to have adopted a child and forged papers to back it up.
I moderated that thread page to page and noticed how suddenly some members never came back to share their testimonies after their interviews but after sometimes a new ID will show up asking for immigration lawyer or complaining how one agent got them in trouble.
The second thread has less number of ghost winners because the agent-format is not working as it used to though one was caught at the embassy trying to attend visa lottery interview he never played. The VO reported him in that thread and i banned him.
Don't bother giving them links to support your argument because many of them used the 'short-cut' and hate to be told the truth.
You will not be popular here as long as you refused to join the 'yes-members'. Why are folks needing agent to apply for DV lottery? It's pure laziness! |

LFJ: Gigga40 is right. In the old system when you win the lottery, they send the package to you, at that point you can change DOB if there is error. You may not be able to change it the monment you submit that form. There can be error in the way your name is spell, you have that grace. I am talking of genuine mistake here, not Funke that is now Teju. If Funke is mistakingly spelled as Fuke u can put your n there. I am talking about the time you receive congratulatory message and the package, not after schedule you for interview. How it is done today, I don't know but 7 years ago it was possible.
Pls if u want me to explain more, no problem but no insult we can learn from each other without insult. I have neither insulted u nor poked fun at your discourse. Mind showing me any insults? TRUTHTELA: You are so FREE to think what you like. If you're OBJECTIVE minded, you can counter my own argument also.
All that every NL, know or think about Chibok Girls, is based on what the media has reported, unless that NLer, is in the BH inner chambers.
Based on what the media has reported so far, I'm yet to be CONVINCED that about 270 girls were kidnapped.
All over the world, whenever we hear/read about kidnappings, the universal language is RELEASE RELEASE and RELEASE, how come in Nigeria, it's " BRING BACK"? Who should bring back the girls? Who coined " BRING BACK"?
How come the bring back crew is yet to condemn BH? Or use RELASE OUR GIRLS, which is the SENSIBLE thing to say. How come the " Bring back our girls " crew is yet to ask the Borno state Govt, to bring back the girls, cos from what I read, they disobeyed an ORDER,not to conduct an exam?
How come "Bring back our girls" went viral and all the western media and political leaders HYPED it like they really care?
How come " Bring back our girls" has become an NGO, ask Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, etc, how all these so called "NGO's" are being use to fuel REGIME CHANGE or SOCIAL UNREST.
How come Oby Ezekwesili, an ELITIST IGBO lady , is so so "CONCERNED " about missing girls in Maidugiri? When did the love start? When did Elitist & Uppity folks like Oby & El rufai started caring about THE POOR MASSES? (by their fruits we shall know them).
Is Maidugiri, bigger than Africa? meaning, how is it possible to safely hide 270 girls safely and nobody have seen them?
If USA, can pick & intercept intelligence about the location of Osama Bin Laden and Anwar Al- Awlaki, in Pakistan and Yemen, respectively, killed them, then, how IMPOSSIBLE for USA, not to see the so called "missing girls ?
Count 270, recount it, we are not talking about 27 girls, how are these girls been fed up till now? How many BH, men watches over 270 girls, and how many goes out to fight? Cos they've been actively fighting all these months. It doesn't add up.
These "Bring back our girls " crew always CREEP OUT THEIR HEAD whenever the Nigerian Military rolls out successful news of how they've dealt with BH. Or Jonathan scored some points in politics or governance. Or you'll hear, " oh, one chibok girl was found wandering around Ikoyi", ( just to remind the world that GEJ, is still INCOMPETENT). Check all the active names in the Bring back girls campaign, they're all APC stalwarts, why? Coincidence?
Yes, GEJ, met with some parents, but GEJ, is in Aso Rock, he can only meet people that Borno state Govt. presented to him, so, it means nothing to me.
ISIS, AL QEDA,AL SHABA, TALIBAN, etc, all these veteran terrorist organizations, kidnapped to kill or to demand ransom, you can't see them kidnapping hundreds of people at one swoop, cos it's IMPOSSIBLE to mobilize men and logistics for such.
If Abubakar Shekau has been killed, I expected the girls to be found where he was killed, cos the girls and Shekau are supposed to be in BH's safest haven.
Further, Obasanjo's comment " The Chibok girls may never be found", for all I care, OBJ,( sleeper agent ) and his international conspirators orchestrated THE CHIBOK SCAM to embarrass Jonathan and make sure there's a platform to ORGANIZE A SOCIAL UNREST incase GEJ, wins 2015 election.
How come the immediate families of these girls ain't protesting or disturbing Borno state govt to BRING BACK THEIR GIRLS? They've all died, silenced, they don't care anymore or can't do it cos of BH? But Oby and co can do it freely in Abuja? Yea rite!
Where are all the INDIGENOUS Maidugiri, women and youths? I'm only seeing Oby, an indigene of Anambara, spearheading a maidugiri, affair, then SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT! IT's FISHY! THERE's A SINISTER MOTIVE. When did Igbo start loving fulani/kanuri so badly? Oby has never protested about thousands of Igbos, that BH, has killed, yet she's doing this for Chibok? IT's AN INTERNATIONAL SCAM, which she can handle well cos she has the contact.
THE URGE TO STOP GEJ, IS/WILL DESTROY Nigeria, will do nobody no good and these GREEDY ELITES will CATCH A FLIGHT AND FLEE WITH THEIR FAMILIES. Another rambling post from a conspiracy theorist. Even your president believes and confirms that the girls are still missing. |

DOB is absolutely pardonable, You can NEVER be DENIED visa based on wrong DOB on ur original/initial entry. Go and ask Visaofficer. Keep quoting visa officer even though u haven't provided any link to back it up.. How is age mispresentation pardonable when u are you swearing an oath that you have answered all questions correctly to the best of ur ability? Since age is a criterion for u to be eligible to apply, allowing u to change your DOB after you have won means that you have gamed the system. Americans HATE telling them something after the fact has been made known or u have been caught.. So telling them that you made a mistake in your DOB after u have won would make them see u as stupid and therefore, will not allow. Another scenario: Imagine telling FIFA that we used overaged players to qualify for Under 17-WC and you still expect FIFA to uphold our qualification? |

Babakenny: DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY CALL DATE OF BIRTH AND YEAR OF BIRTH? If you made a mistake in your date of birth, you can correct it when you're filling your DS 260. You cannot however change your year of birth. I hope you got it?
For example, if you wanted to write 12/10/1974 and you wrote 10/12/1974, you can correct it at the time you're filling your immigrant DS260 form. You cannot however change your year of birth from say 12/10/1974 to 12/10/1983. Hope u got it? In a faceless and anonymous forum, your subjective experiences hold no water! Stated rules and procedures far outweigh your experiences and you CAN take them to the bank and cash "em. So I'll take US embassy's advice and position over urs. You keep shift the goal post. If you cant answer those questions< then please keep quite and allow people to hear word. Besides, Nigeria is no longer qualify to play. You can play only if you come from an eligible country of which i know you're not. So allow people who want to benefit to do so. I have played mutiple times! Does that allow me to circumvent the rule?? Common sense tells that you can't change it because it's based on age eligibility. If you are under 18, you are more than likely going to be disqualified because 12-yr of education is a requirement. Changing your DOB would alter your educational xprience. Married Children or children of above 21 cannot be applied for by their parents. Age eligibility.. If u change your DOB, it would make useless this provision. |

The next thing is to fill forms called ds 230 and 122 which is to b sent back to KCC. at this stage you are entitled to make corrections on whatever mistake you made on the initial entry eg DOB,PLACE OF BIRTH,NAME ETC ETC! The new forms with the correct infos will be added to your case/file immediately it get there and this is what they will reckon with @ the embassy because you have made corrections or adjustments!
After visa approval @ the embassy, the DOB,NAME,PLACE OF BIRTH etc etc on your visa/your info on their record will definitely be the right one you corrected/adjusted and not the same one on the initial entry!
Your infos will be changed according to the last one you updated before your interview....This happened to some pple on 2014 dv thread and VO can also confirm this too! You are on your own.. You can't change DOB! "You want believe your own hype, but it's so untrue".. Lupe Fiasco |

Av you in anyway had correspondence with KCC pertaining wrong info on DOB?
Answers to those questions will determine if i am gona enlightening you or not!!! http://riga.usembassy.gov/mobile//dv-winners/list.htmlMARRIAGE CERTIFICATES/MARRIAGE TERMINATION RECORDS: Married persons are required to present a certified copy of their marriage certificate. Proof of the termination of any previous marriage must also be submitted (e.g. death certificate of spouse or final decree of divorce, or annulment). OTHER DOCUMENTS REFLECTING NAME CHANGE: You must present additional evidence from archives or courts, if the above listed ones do not reflect all name changes you have had in the past. For example, you changed your birth name to married name, and back to your birth name after a divorce - you must present records from archives confirming the name change at the time of marriage if the divorce documents do not contain that information. http://www.dv-lottery.org/application-errorErrors in Application Correcting the errors in the E-DV application form is not allowed once it is submitted. We get emails from people asking "how can I correct the error in the submitted E-DV online application form of the DV Lottery now?". For them following is the answer. Error Correction of the names, date of birth and change of addresses in the submitted E-DV entry form can't be allowed now. Also the address you entered in the E-DV entry form too can't be changed to another one. Before you start entering your details in the E-DV application form online, you must understand that you are in the process of applying for an Immigrant visa. Therefore all the information you are giving must be perfect and 100% true. So it is your duty to check the information in the application form for spelling error in your name, your spouse name and children names before you submit the online application form. Check the date of birth for you and all persons in the entry as you can make selection mistake in the day, month and year. When entering the birth city you must take care to give the correct one with correct spelling for you and to others if you have any dependants. When selecting the birth country clearly bring the country name in position. Also check carefully how you are selecting the eligibility country name. When you are going to enter the address of yourself you must decide first whether you will stay in the address in the coming May to July month period. Because around this period the selection notifications may be sent by postal mail to the given addresses as in the entry forms of the DV Lottery applicants. Also in the DV Lottery application form there is a field for your email address but don't expect them to notify you about your selection for the program through the email. If you feel that your country postal service is not good, then you can use a friend's or relative's address in another country. So if you are intended to use another person's address who is living in another country, don't forget to inform them that you are using their address. If you have already made an error and you are selected for the program, then the consular officer who is going to interview will decide about it on the day of the interview. Some time if the KCC finds out that your online submitted entry details didn't match with your details in the visa application form, you may not get the visa interview letter. So double check everything in the application form before you submit it. According to the rules you can't blame someone else for the mistakes or errors in your submitted entry. |
