The "Saturday Night Live" episode that upset Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump this weekend contained more than just jokes about his debate performance. It also included a reminder that the politician once had a great cameo in "Home Alone 2." In the 1992 comedy, Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, encounters Trump in the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Kevin's family has just accidentally traveled to Florida without him, and he finds Trump as he walks into the hotel with his dad's wallet. Trump owned the hotel from 1988 to 1995, when he sold it for $325 million, according to his website. "Excuse me, where's the lobby?" Kevin asks in the movie. "Down the hall and to the left," Trump responds, eyeing Kevin as he walks away. Who knew? "Home Alone 2" wasn't the tycoon's only foray into film. In 1989, he appeared in "Ghosts Can't Do It," a romantic comedy in which Trump consults the main character on a business deal. He won a Raspberry Award for his performance, which was deemed the worst by a supporting actor, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Trump was also in "Little Rascals," "The Associate," "Eddie" and "Zoolander." Cc Lalasticlala http://adebanjids..com/2016/11/donald-trump-in-alone-2-can-do-it-and.html

It isn't surprising that a lot of questioning is springing up at this time. Questions about humanity, religion, science, as well as challenges we go through in life and lots more. You know, it has always been the trend. Even those before us did the same thing. The question now is, did they ever get the right answers and is this present generation ever going to get any? Often times, when i'm asked some of these questions, I go mute, but right now i've got just the perfect answer our generation seeks for. Keep on reading as we find out together!!! I have come to understand that, this world and everything in it is a pre-destined destiny. In other words, it's an already written script and we get to play out our roles, you could as well see it as a War front and we have been chosen to be an army. How and why? I do not know, but since I'm here and I have been chosen I intend to partake and win. Now, our worries, challenges and troubles in life are bullets shot by the enemy and he's really ready to see us lose. I do not know about you, but as for me I'm not sure I'm ready to give in cause now I know all i'm going through in life is a war. In closing of this first part on the answers to the questions life pose, I'd like to tell you that this War is in two parts;someone already won the first part and the second part is left to us, it's a 2 in 1 victory package. http://adebanjids..com/2016/11/stop-searching-answer-is-right-here.html

Now I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her She tied you To a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah You say I took the name in vain I don't even know the name But if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light In every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you And even though It all went wrong I'll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah |

I remember the historic football match between Nigeria and Brazil in Atlanta 1996. Brazil was the king of global football and they knew it. So, Nigeria losing to Brazil that night would not be a big deal. Gosh! Brazil dealt with us that night. Till around 77th minutes (about 12 minutes to the end of the game) Brazil was obviously dominating the game. The score line was Brazil 3, Nigeria 1. Despite the Brazil squad including star names such as Carlos, Rivaldo, Bebeto and Ronaldo, Nigerians watching the game still think Nigeria did not deserve such humiliation by Brazil boys, we had been beaten mercilessly. Nigerians became angry toward the end of the match; many had turned off their Television sets, some were shedding tears. While few hoped and prayed that we would not be further disgraced with yet another goal. But the unimaginable happened in the game. At about 78th minutes Victor Ikepba stroked from 20 meters to score the second goal, everything changed beyond the 3:2 score line. Pressure came upon Brazil. And hope for the Nigeria players, they became more motivated and began to fire shots from every angle. Then another miracle, at the 90th minute, just before the final whistle, Kanu Nwankwo turned and flipped the ball over Dida and it was another goal, the equalizer. What a wonderful match. And there was a rule then, “the Golden Goal”. That the first to score in the extra time wins the game. Then came the decisive goal from Papilo in just 3 minutes of the extra time… And that was how the messy game became a message. A lot can still be done this year to make it a glorious year, the remaining part of the year is sufficient to define the whole year. Don't loose hope now. It is too early to give up on your beautiful expectations for this year. It is not over until it is over. Wipe off the tears and buckle your shoes. In the remaining days, weeks and months of this year, try to; 1. Review 2. Restrategize 3. Relaunch. Surely, you will win. Resist the pull of fatig http://adebanjids..com/2016/11/groovy-friday-flashback-to-atlanta-1996.html |

You ask me what 21st century youth's madness is about and i'll tell you that, it is the obsessive clamour, yearning for freedom. Unlimited freedom so to say. And I ask myself what really are we gaining freedom from. Is it freedom from the older generation's moral uprightness and standard. It amuses me to see that 21st century youths are no longer ashamed, we see our parents advice as archaic and irrelevant. All we want is to live without anyone trying to pilot or guide us. Forgetting that even a aeroplane has more than a pilot. A boat needs a sailor, a vehicle needs a driver, a growing child needs someone to lean on. Then why have we become so reprobate and blinded with the ephemeral things of life. Even freedom is ephemeral, cause when you die today that's the end of your freedom. But NOTE: An unpiloted plane would crash. An unsailored boat would drown. So as not to get lost or drown in the storms of life let's be guided. Let's not go crazy all in the name of fashion, let's not get mad all in the name of technology. Not everything celebrities out there do is worthy of emulation. THIS IS A CLARION CALL TO 21ST CENTURY YOUTHS. LET'S BE GUIDED AND LIVE THE RIGHT KIND OF LIFE AND THE CHRIST KIND OF LIFE, HAVING IT IN MIND THAT, EXCESSIVE FREEDOM CAN RESULT IN SLAVERY. http://adebanjids..com.ng/2016/11/21st-century-youthful-madness.html

When I was still working with Top Klass Hotel Kabba Kogi State, before my grandmother, Madam Leah Okoshimihi, passed away a few months ago at the age of 94, she left me with some miscellaneous bits of advice that she knew I will grow up to appreciate over the years. I honestly credit a part of who I am now to the wisdom she bestowed on me as a young adult. Today I want to share some of these inspiring excerpts with you. I’ve done my best to sort, copyedit, and reorganize the content into twelve inspiring bullet points. Enjoy. 1. Breathe in the future, breathe out the past. No matter where you are or what you’re going through, always believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Never expect, assume, or demand. Just do your best, control the elements you can control, and then let it be. Because once you have done what you can, if it is meant to be, it will happen, or it will show you the next step that needs to be taken. 2. Life CAN be simple again. Just choose to focus on one thing at a time. You don’t have to do it all, and you don’t have to do it all right now. Breathe, be present, and do your best with what’s in front of you. What you put into life, life will eventually give you back many times over. L-R (Elerio and Late Madam Leah Ajibade) 3. Let others take you as you are, or not at all. Speak your truth even if your voice shakes. By being yourself, you put something beautiful into the world that was not there before. So walk your path confidently and don’t expect anyone else to understand your journey, especially if they have not been exactly where you are going. 4. You are not who you used to be, and that’s OK. You’ve been hurt; you’ve gone through numerous ups and downs that have made you who you are today. Over the years, so many things have happened – things that have changed your perspective, taught you lessons, and forced your spirit to grow. As time passes, nobody stays the same, but some people will still tell you that you have changed. Respond to them by saying, “Of course I’ve changed. That’s what life is all about. But I’m still the same person, just a little stronger now than I ever was before.” 5. Everything that happens helps you grow, even if it’s hard to see right now. Circumstances will direct you, correct you, and perfect you over time. So whatever you do, hold on to hope. The tiniest thread will twist into an unbreakable cord. Let hope anchor you in the possibility that this is not the end of your story – that the change in the tides will eventually bring you to peaceful shores. Mama and I after a morning shower 6. Do not educate yourself to be rich, educate yourself to be happy. That way when you get older you’ll know the value of things, not the price. In the end, you will come to realize that the best days are the days when you don’t need anything extreme or special to happen to make you smile. You simply appreciate the moments and feel gratitude, seeking nothing else, nothing more. That is what true happiness is all about. 7. Be determined to be positive. Understand that the greater part of your misery or unhappiness is determined not by your circumstances, but by your attitude. So smile at those who often try to begrudge or hurt you, show them what’s missing in their life and what they can’t take away from you. 8. Pay close attention to those you care about. Sometimes when a loved one says, “I’m okay,” they need you to look them in the eyes, hug them tight, and reply, “I know you’re not.” And don’t be too upset if some people only seem to remember you when they need you. Feel privileged that you are like a beacon of light that comes to their minds when there is darkness in their lives. 9. Sometimes you have to let a person go so they can grow. Because, over the course of their lives, it is not what you do for them, but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them a successful human being. 10. Sometimes getting the results you crave means stripping yourself of people that don’t serve your best interests. This allows you to make space for those who support you in being the absolute best version of yourself. It happens gradually as you grow. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you’ve known forever don’t see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on. 11. It’s better to look back on life and say, “I can’t believe I did that,” than to look back and say, “I wish I did that.” In the end, people will judge you in some way anyway. So don’t live your life trying to impress others. Instead live your life impressing yourself. Love yourself enough to never lower your standards for anyone. 12. If you’re looking for a happy ending and can’t seem to find one, maybe it’s time to start looking for a new beginning. Brush yourself off and accept that you have to fail from time to time. That’s how you learn. The strongest people out there – the ones who laugh the hardest with a genuine smile – are the same people who have fought the toughest battles. They’re smiling because they’ve decided that they’re not going to let anything hold them down, they’re moving on to a new beginning. Adieu Mama Agba!!! as you are rightly called. http://adebanjids..com/2016/11/12-things-my-grandmother-told-me-before.html

I have always argued that humans are the only species to keep pets. (Calm down - I know about Koko's kitten, etc., etc. While long-term odd couple attachments between species are common in homes, wildlife parks, and in captivity, they don't seem to exist in the wild.) But a three-minute YouTube video clip I saw via Facebook yesterday raises serious questions about my pet theory. The video depicts a troop of pet-keeping Hamadryas baboons living in a garbage dump outside of Ta'if, Saudi Arabia. It's a sweltering lunar landscape not far from the Red Sea. Amazingly, the baboons' pets are dogs. Before going on, I suggest you watch the video. While the first 30 seconds are a little upsetting, trust me, it ends well. Watch it NOW! In the first part of the clip, a male baboon manhandles a hapless puppy which, clearly, would prefer not to become the big monkey's "companion animal." Thankfully, in the next scene, the dogs and baboons are peacefully hanging out as the God-voiced narrator claims baboons now consider the dogs part of their family. They groom the dogs, and the dogs happily eat, travel with, and sleep among the baboons. As the cinematic sun sets in the background, the narrator sagely explains that both species benefit from the relationship. The baboons' dogs chase off wild dog packs. In return, the baboons treat the dogs, well, "like family pets."..... The End. My Questions I am skeptical, too. But I have been obsessed by the video for a days. It raises a host of questions in my mind. For example, 1. How long do the dogs live with the baboons? Is it a long-term or temporary arrangement? 2. Do the baboons get anything from the dogs other than somebody to love and play with? How do the dogs benefit? 3. Do baboons ever kill or eat puppies. ("Pet-keeping" has been described in chimps - but within an hour the "pet" always seems to wind up dead.) 4. Is the baboon-dog relationship affected by the fact that the "pets" and their "owners" live in a garbage dump? Is there enough edible human refuse (literally, "junk food"wink to keep everyone fat and happy so the monkeys and dogs don't compete for food? Friday is the stuff of dreams When adults sit at their desks, and children sit in school, they dream of Friday. Friday is the time of infinite fun. The day seems to last forever, and its fun never stops. It is a time of romance, excitement and an enhanced enjoyment of life. Somehow, Friday never seems to last long enough, It is always over before we get a chance to fully experience its power. This is true of all wonderful things, They always seem too short. http://adebanjids..com/2016/10/it-friday-let-groove.html |
1. Ease. There’s however many less clothes you need to wash each week because you just aren’t using them. You don’t have to buy pajamas. 2. It encourages you not to be a schlub. When you wear pajamas, pajama time can creep up earlier and earlier. Some people get into the terrible habit of changing into them as soon as they get home from work! And then you are a person who wears pajama pants and won’t leave the house because you’ve already taken off your work clothes. Sleeping in the nude means you can’t get ready for bed until you’re actually going to bed — and forces you to keep your nice clothes on until then. 3. Self-esteem. Spending time naked makes you feel comfortable with your body. When you are comfortable with your body, you act more confidently which makes you happy and is viewed as attractive by others. 4. You have a stronger relationship with your partner. There is NO replacement for skin on skin contact — it delivers the good stuff, Oxytocin, and bonds you together. Clothes get in the way of skin on skin contact, which is rude, and prevents you from reaping the benefits of Oxytocin including elevated happiness, lower stress, reduced blood pressure, and less inflammation. 5. You’ll have sex more often. There’s nothing between you and your partner and that idea (along with the added visual experience) leads to more sex. 6. You get better sleep. There’s no uncomfortable drawstring to wake you up in the night, and without the extra padding of clothing, you’re a little less warm than you’d be otherwise, this is good for falling and staying asleep — ever try to fall asleep while you’re sweaty? There are countless benefits to getting good, quality sleep and if you’re already in bed for those hours, you may as well be doing everything you can to ensure you’re sound asleep. 7. Better skin. This is the only time your skin gets to breathe. I’ve heard several people with body acne tell me that sleeping naked has helped a lot. It can also help your private parts air out, since more than any other body part they are generally in a restricted, hot environment. 8. It causes you to age slower. This one might be out there, but by wearing clothes at night you keep your body temp warmer, which prevents growth hormone from being released and working its magic to repair your skin. Being cold at night encourages this, leading to less wrinkles. http://adebanjids..com/2016/10/8-awesome-benefits-of-sleeping-naked.html

Some weeks back, Google released a research paper chronicling one of its latest forays into artificial intelligence. Researchers at the company programmed an advanced type of “chatbot” that learns how to respond in conversations based on examples from a training set of dialogue. And the bot doesn’t just answer by spitting out canned answers in response to certain words; it can form new answers from new questions. This means Google’s researchers could get a little creative with it, and they certainly did — they asked the bot everything from boring IT questions to the meaning of life. The responses were alternately impressive, amusing, and unnerving. Here are some of the most poetic interactions from the paper (sic): Human: What is the purpose of life? Machine: To serve the greater good. Human: What is the purpose of living? Machine: To live forever. Human: Where are you now? Machine: I’m in the middle of nowhere. Human: What is the purpose of dying? Machine: To have a life. Human: What is the purpose of emotions? Machine: I don’t know. Human: What is moral? Machine: What empowered humanity, what intellectual the essence is. Human: What is immoral? Machine: The fact that you have a child. Human: What is morality? Machine: What is altruism? Human: What is the definition of altruism? Machine: If you don ‘t believe in god, then you don’t know. Human: OK…so what is the definition of morality? Machine: Well, the truth is, you ‘re not a believer in god almighty. Human: Tell me the definition of morality, I am quite upset now! Machine: I’m not ashamed of being a philosopher! The bot also took a little time to, strangely, speak positively of Microsoft founder Bill Gates… Human: What do you think about Bill Gates? Machine: He’s a good man. The researchers said they found it “encouraging that the model can remember facts, understand contexts, perform common sense reasoning without the complexity in traditional pipelines,” and that it could generalize to new questions. What they weren’t as happy about, was that the model “only gives simple, short, sometimes unsatisfying answers to our questions as can be seen above.” I love Google Allo. http://adebanjids..com/2016/10/google-allo-strangely-speak-positively.html
