Hello All, I have a quick question regarding finance. Would a statement of account from a CBN approved mortage bank be acceptable?
Travel / Re: I Have Finally Left Nigeria by Adedrizzy(m): 1:15pm On Feb 02, 2022
Nice one. At least you made a move, who knows what Togo has in store for you! Opportunities lie everywhere, if you can tap into an opportunity there and it works for you, then you are still on the right track. Just keep us updated on your progress. Really interested in seeing how life is in other African countries smiley smiley smiley

Togobroz:
Happy new month to everyone and I wish to thank God for his grace so far.

I have been a hustler for long trying to make ends meet and at a point I was able to save about 1.5million naira to travel to China but unfortunately I was duped and my hard earned money went to voicemail. I kept struggling and saving money to go to Europe but I was denied visa twice to two different countries and then I gave up.

I decided not to travel again but the stress and insecurity in Nigeria has been worrisome especially in my region so I decided to travel to any french speaking African country and just experience a whole new different life outside Nigeria. My initial plan was to go to Burkina Faso or Equitorial Guinea and I did some research that would guide me as I didn't know anyone in both countries and I was just determined to go on this adventure myself.

I saved up some money which got to almost 3 million naira and then I crossed my heart and made my trip. From Nigeria I crossed into Benin Republic and then to Togo where I was supposed to cross to Burkina Faso. On getting to Togo it was quite late so I had to pass the night in a cheap hotel of 2000cfa franc. In the hotel I met some Nigerians going to Ghana with some friends based in Togo. I was hearing their conversations as they drank at the bar while I sat alone with a bottle of their local beer Castle.

Being that in Togo I discovered they hardly speak English, I decided to introduce myself to those Nigerians so that I can make some enquiry from them and that was how we all got talking and gisting till late night. The guys based in Togo told me alot about Togo and how life is cheap if one has some capital to get accommodation and start a small business. I was made to understand there is steady light, water and security in the small country. The next day I was suppose to leave for Burkina Faso I decided to pay for the hotel room for a week and explore Togo a bit. The guys I met that were based in Togo already were really helpful and they took out time to show me around, know the prices of stuffs and where to buy cheap stuffs as well. I began to fall in love with the country except for the fact that most people don't understand English, though some try to understand and speak a little so you have to scatter the English for them to understand.

I decided to find a house and few days was enough for that. I got a room and parlor self contained house for 30,000cfa a month and paid a year which is 360,000cfa. They hold 6 months as deposit and after six months I start paying 30,000cfa monthly or anyhow I wish to stretch it based on my pocket. I just furnished it a little and I am just chilling with steady light on a brief. The house has a prepaid meter so I recharge and use according to my power.

After making some deep enquiry about what business to start at least for now, I bought a tricycle they call Apsonic here in Togo. It cost 1.4million cfa brand new plus the plate number registration and all. Then I found a driver who took it on hire purchase to balance 2.5million cfa at 25,000cfa per week.

My good people, I know I have not reached where I am going but I bless God for where I am coming from. Right now I just relax myself planning my next move while every Saturday I wait to receive my weekly salary. With life here if you are someone that knows how to manage, even 1000cfa can feed you a whole day so I am really doing my best to see how much I can save by the end of this year over here and know my next move.

Please you all pray for me as I also pray for you all. The journey of a thousand miles always start with a footstep.

Y'll should leave her now. It's her money and she can do whatever she wants with it. You can't advise her to finish her studies wherever you think is better, she's an adult. Besides there are a thousand and one reasons to leave NL to Germany. If you have advise on her enquiry, kindly advise and if not, keep scrolling.

Hey Odogwu,

You are quite right on your other statements about getting an interview in the German embassy especially for the category B but I have to correct your paragraph on the sponsorship letter. Sponsors do not need to have family ties with who they are sponsoring, and yes ANYONE can provide a sponsorship letter considering they are legal residents of Germany, employed and meet the minimum threshold of monthly income after tax and other expenses. Usually a single person needs to earn a minimum of €2400 net and the amount goes on for married couples, household with a child, children etc. Many of my colleagues don't have any relationship whatsoever with their sponsors and they are presently studying here in Germany smiley

OdogwuEkeke:
You are most welcome @FrostyButter.

Your 3rd sentence caught my attention, for a sponsorship letter, you cannot just get ANYONE to do a sponsorship letter for you. Such an individual must have family ties with you and also should be gainfully employed and residing in Germany.

Recently, getting an interview takes a while ranging to months for prospective candidates in Category B whereas for Category A candidates get dates within a week to a month.

I am not sure about the new winter semester coming up, but depending on your course. Some courses can do exams online. If your course does not fall under this, unfortunately, you will miss the whole semester exam. At this point, you will have to decide if you want to keep paying the semester fees or consider looking for opportunities in other countries asides from Germany.

Personally, not to discourage those that are just applying, but just stating the obvious. It might even be more difficult for people who just recently gained admission to get interview dates if you fall under Category B because there is a backlog already since late 2019 (Beginning of COVID) if I am not mistaken. Right now, I would advise you to seek a plan B on your academic pursuit.

Na person who gives up on his dream mess up!!!!

Hello, one of the organizations I worked (a school) in for about a year is currently defunct, it's been really difficult getting in touch with any of the staffs because they now work in different places. How do I generate an evidence of work history?

they are similar depending on what you want.... with one you can go further in PHD studies while in the other you can't. One is practice oriented while the other is research base

Actually, you can further to PHD with certificates from both institutions, the only difference is that Universities can award PHD while applied sciences cant award it.

I know everyone's dream here is to succeed in Germany after studying. Often times, it's been mentioned here, that people who study computer related courses have better chances of getting jobs.

Also, people who studied medcine related courses, engineers and high skilled workers.

http://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/for-qualified-professionals/discover-germany

These occupations are in demand in Germany, so it makes sense why you have a higher chance of getting a job after studying. If you are in another field, then you might want to think twice, if your dream is to remain in Germany after studying. I am not trying to discourage anybody, just know how lucrative your course is. You wouldn't like to do odd jobs after studying or spend time looking for jobs.

Just be good in anything you do.

Hmmmm... Well this looks discouraging for some of us going for management courses but still we will be very hopeful.

shocked shocked oh wow!! Seriously? Thank u so much for your advice. I knew I had to seek some advise here first to know what to do. You were of great help.

Hi empressonassis,
I also had the same issue two weeks back, i picked February for my appointment at the embassy even though i was supposed to resume March also at IUBH but i woke up like every night by 11pm - 12am and got lucky by seeing January. I rebooked immediately. You can also try the same method till mid January hopefully, you would be lucky also.

But, if you really want a refund, just explain to them that you could not get a space, they shouldn't have any reason for withholding since its your money or contact Tgmeducation in Ikeja, they are affiliated with the school, they could be of help.

First of all, it's Deutsch not Dutch. To your question about getting a job, it depends on the course you studied and how good you can speak German

Yeah I know, just decided to shorten it. Ok thanks

Hello nairaland family, i am planning to come to Germany early next year but i am currently discouraged by the fact that people say there is really no job in Germany after studies especially if you do not speak dutch, to make matters worse, i checked online myself and they were mostly negative views on getting a permanent job and that people go back to their countries in the long run.

I would like the gurus and the ones already in Germany to give a full insight on life after studies.
N.B. i am going for a management program for Msc

Yes, check in the middle of the night. By 12am, the system will add a new date. - 3rd of feb. And some people will also cancel their appointments of earlier dates to book the most recent date.

The appointment date added today, 2nd feb, was totally booked before 6am.
You might want to stay awake or set an alarm if you want to book because we dont know when the consulate will stop putting up appointments. The earlier the better.

Thanks, this so explanatory..... We are talking career you talking sleep grin
