MMotimo: We are waiting for your version of the story. You have become quite the celebrity here. Haba! A new scandal every 3 market days. Village people are either seriously on your case -OR- . . . . . . . . .?
I don't know why u like to create problem for ur family, which village people are in ur case, ? If I decide not to talk does dat mean u will be saying rubbish, pls I don't want to be rude pls,
MrOkenwa: Yes you did a good job for me and that’s why I am very surprised and disappointed about the way you’re handling your clients recently. It’s on this thread that I and probably the client you’re having fallout with copied your contact. Same with other artisans. So, you should know why you should maintain a good reputation here. There are wonderful guys here, don’t ruin their chances. Olukaygold from Ekiti has been working on my project for over a month and he’s doing a good job for me. If not for this forum, the probability of getting the contract is near zero. Pls Work on your reputation to safe your career and help others. Chao.
thank my chairman, I will God will help me thanks,
MMotimo: Bros, oro yin ti sun awon eyan. People just dey read and waka pass.
The first thing I noticed is that you have decided to adopt N3xt’s playbook by disclosing your customer’s name when his moniker would do the same job. That is pure mischief and shows the level of your professionalism. That alone is a turn off for potential customers. When you now add this join-join, caterpillar explanation, you no try at all! Oro o dun l’enu yin, Sir! Your version does NOT sound at all credible!
You even reported his wife to him, orisirisi! After feeding and housing your boy + you getting paid! Oga, e try at all! This your behaviour is very shameful! Do you think it’s all about the naira? How about time value of money, especially in a high inflation economy like Nigeria’s? Abi you think his #80k today is same as #80k of months ago?
Diordaves talked about budgeting skills, that is basic 101 when you are running a business, otherwise you will become a scammer. If budgeting is too hard, borrow a leaf from Money121, owo customer ko gbo do pe l’owo Contractor. Mobilize clients’ funds quickly before you become tempted to marry another wife or buy hair for side chic or buy iPhone 14 for in laws or do Dorime with money that is not yours. That basic strategy will save you a lot of pain. The money for materials, labor, logistics - set it aside from the beginning like who dey pay tithes so that you don’t touch it and spend it without delay for the intended purpose. Learn to separate customers’ money from your profit. Only take jobs you can deliver on, oruko rere san ju wura lo. A good reputation will open doors for you but dis kain kurukere does nothing to help your business. Na here you go dey and newcomer Contractors go dey collect contracts that you should be getting by easy referrals.
If you can’t run a business, let me remind you that not all of us are cut out to be business owners. It’s okay to be an employee if you don’t have what it takes to own a business. Know your strengths and weaknesses so that you know which suits you best . I know I have bad mouth and I’m impatient with bullshit so I wouldn’t do great as a business owner, that is why I jeje work for somebody and collect salary. I sleep well at night, better than the CEO because I don’t have to worry about dealing with customers and customer sentiments. In your case, if you have trouble handling other people’s money and delivering on contracts, then go and work for a contractor and be collecting salary instead of parading as a professional.
Well, we all know how N3xt’s playbook ends. Abo oro la n so fun omoluabi, a word is enough for the wise.
I don't have much to answer to this but I already took some good point out of this, l also want ask this before we conclude the matter, When he pay for frames of the doors how many days he took before delivered,? When he payed for water connectors how many days before delivered,? When he payed for toilets doors pannel how many days it took me before delivered And finally who stop us from the work for the first time, because of the floor,?
redgem: Is it just me or some monikers just show up only to attack... Like, they've been eagerly waiting for an opportunity to launch their attacks
Adedward honestly, your explanation is not a reasonable one...please sort out whatever issue you have on ground instead of going back and forth. If you were in the shoes of your customers, I bet you won't tolerate your current attitude.
Currently in Nigeria, no amount of money is termed small money...every kobo is money especially in buildings/business.
Read through the thread these past few days, there were good advices given, take them and work on your self and business management.
ma, thanks very much, I understand ur point, and others
sonnie10: This is the work site accident. Page 2886.
boss don't quote ur self wrong sir, it's not the boss u are talking about, and we went there to do the needful, he is the one make the 20k for glass broke, when he want to send my balanced, I don't ask him to give me another money pls, and I have to thank him for dat, and pls there is no any road accident with this, pls read well and get details before u comment sir thanks
MrOkenwa: Mr Edward, you seem to be getting involved in so many accidents. Especially, each time you have issues with your client. I'll implore you to call your client, go and conclude the job and apologize to him for wasting his precious time. These incessant reports would definitely affect your patronage. Unfortunately, I won't be able to patronize nor recommend you to anyone again. If you can do this to somebody that accommodated you and your apprentice, how much more a diasporan, who doesn't know where/how to find you should anything go wrong.
sir, I did not know u visically but I know how much business we have done together, I have done two out of ur project, even when things get as it be I stand, but this man is sayings his hown side, someone dats ask us to stop work for months, and came here and tell me I delayed his work,
Beframia: This is quite sad, I feel your pains my brother. I once had a similar experience such that I had to instruct that a soak-away be broken almost completely after I re-assigned it to another artisan. Since then, I vowed to always be around during any stage of my project. Some of these artisans are heartless and without conscience, they always wish you would just pay them without them offering any service ...as if money easy to get. You have stalled for too long at this stage for no fault of yours, you are only trying to help someone who obviously is not ready to be helped. I'm of same opinion as previous commenters, get another artisan to correct and complete your job while you pursue a refund. All the best.

From the word go, the signs has been there that he needed money urgently for his personal use but you showed empathy to give him legitimate jobs to make that money, something someone like me would still do. His very big mistake was not properly leveraging on his reputation to get such several other jobs to make up whatever he wants to use the money for in a proper way. Whatever any money is given for any job, any serious minded contractor would make the whole sum in profits from several regular jobs with assurance of regular referrals and repeat customers that would make the initial seemingly big money look very pale in comparison. There has been similar complaints by a reputable client I supplied here also but he too was reluctant to give too much details here so as not to totally affect his chances. If he is reading it, know that what you stand to lose is far more than the little you gain. I wish for you that whatever you are going through is resolved but try and salvage this situation. It won't be difficult to locate him now that the details are out. Best for him to do the needful fast on his own. N.B I thought he advertised some lands for sale at mowe recently
