Yes, she can extend it. The main IMM form for extension of work permit is IMM5710. Unfortunately, you can’t use the new portal for a work permit extension. Instead, use the MyCIC account.
Ensure the spouse is studying full-time; proof of full-time enrolment is required.

Thank you for your response! Actually, she hasn't worked since she arrived. So, I read that SOWP cannot be extended, that she can only apply for new one. Please what's your take on this? Could you help with a link where to extend if extension is possible? Thank you.

When is her studies finish? If she has more study time she can go to her IRCC portal and extend her study permit. But it takes some time so let the spouse submit her passport for stamping she will most likely get 8months sowp too and whe the spouse enter canada she can get a longer sowp too

Both of them are in Canada already, his husband is a student and still has over one year for his studies. She accompanied her husband to Canada on SOWP, but her passport only had 8 months validity then, so she was given just 8 months based on her passport expiry date. Now, she want to extend the SOWP because she got a new passport already.
So my questions:
Would she apply like fresh SOWP or there is a link to extend it?

Thanks for your contribution. She has 3 years of experience practicing. I think getting a supervisor at the master's level with such a result will be difficult. Besides, I'm not sure if law students need a supervisor before admission, even if that's the case, it will be difficult to get one, considering her result. On Post-Graduate Certificate or Post-Graduate Diploma related to Law, I would also advise her to look into that. Any suggestion(school or course) from anybody will be appreciated. The truth is, it's very difficult to get admission for master's program with 2.2 in Canada, but not impossible.
Some factors may be crucial in deciding her graduate application.
1. Her GPA in the last 2 years of bachelor’s degree
2. If she can secure a supervisor before applying.
3. How many years of work experience in the field.
4. Her Statement of Purpose to Grad School in her application.

If these things her well placed, she could get an offer.
If not, she can apply to a college for Post-Graduate Certificate or Post-Graduate Diploma related to Law.

Hey! U don't need any link, just visit there in person without an appointment, tell the gateman or security that u are for Canada medic, people for UK are plenty there. U will be booked manually and be given an appointment with a week or 2 weeks maximum.

Congratulations! Send your own passport immediately. Once it is stamped, you will likely get a request for your wife. There is nothing to worry about. You have already crossed the main hurdle. If there is a problem with your wife's application, it would most probably have affected yours too. So I don't think you or your wife should worry rather be grateful and send your passport to Abuja ASAP!

Her application can not be approved because one of the many requirements for an SOWP is your stamped visa, study permit, work permit, enrollment letter and you cant get much of them while you are in nigeria.

Thanks for your response, I think that's contrary to what IRCC stipulates as family accompanies. I have actually heard of people in this category gotten their visas (study permit and SOWP) approved at the same time.
Please somebody should enlighten us on this...

My worries: My study permit has been approved yesterday, but her application is yet to be finalized, I thought both applications should be finalized at the same time?

Can anyone give me an idea why her application is yet to be finalized and how long can we be waiting (submission is 3 months now), I have sent emails to nairobi, but no response. Please, I need your contribution, I really want to travel with her...
