Buhari, Osinbajo’ve sinned against God, Nigerians -Sen Adeyemi 0

BY OUR REPORTER ON MARCH 20, 2015 COVER, POLITICS
From ADETUTU FOLASADE-KOYI, Abuja

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Smart Adeyemi yesterday, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has committed two major mistakes against God and Nigerians.

The two mistakes according to Adeyemi are: foisting Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), a dictator, on the electorate and making his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a man of God, abandon his pastoral calling.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Senator Adeyemi insisted that the APC made “a grievous mistake by picking Buhari as its presidential candidate and they capped that up by bringing Prof. Osinbajo. They went and lured a man of God from the church to join a dictator. He should be prepared to do restitution after March 28.”

“By foisting Buhari on Nigerians; a man, who ordinarily should be asking for forgiveness and doing restitution in his old age, the APC has wronged Nigerians. This is a man, who is not even in tune with economic realities.”

Senator Adeyemi called on the leadership of the Redeemed Church of God not to allow Osinbajo back into its fold but make him undergo cleansing and restitution.

His words: “APC lured a man to betray his divine calling. Osinbajo should not be allowed to go back to Redeemed Church. He has betrayed the sheep he’s pastoring. I’m ashamed that he has betrayed his calling.

“He should undergo restitution and purification. Why? Because he has mingled in sinful activities. He has joined people in maligning a man chosen by God to lead Nigeria and left the path to align with a man that sinned against God and Nigerians.

“He’s now celebrating a dictator against the Nigerian people. It was Buhari who jailed people for 150 and 200 years when he was Head of State. Where have you ever heard of such sentences? If he thinks some people have forgotten, we have not.

“Osinbajo is backing a man without vision and has decided to join a party that is godless. The APC is a party that has been formed purely for vendetta; the APC is only out to retaliate and settle scores with people and its unfortunate that a man of God is in cahoots with these groups of people. The APC was formed purely for business purposes.

“Buhari today should be kept in isolation, praying for forgiveness of sins against God and the Nigerian people; for the oppression of the Nigerian people and the draconian laws he foisted on the people.”

Senator Adeyemi insisted that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win the March 28 and April 11 polls with a landslide.

PoliticsRe: I'll Build Four Refineries If Elected: Buhari. In Dream by adefunke34: 4:41am On Mar 20, 2015
Yea yea I guess you in support cause you would employ your 72 virgins there cause the refineries will be built in hell not this country cause nobody is voting for a cruel leader
FastShipping:
You statement shows you are very dumb. Of course refinery is one of our many problems. The moment we have our own refinery, Naira automatically becomes stronger against dollars and other foreign currencies. Most of the pressure on Naira today is caused by demand for dollars to refine crude oil abroad. Nigeria is the only oil producing country with no functioning refinery. Having our own refineries will bring us thousands of jobs instantly. Having our own refineries will eliminate the cabals profiting from subsidies. Having our own refineries will bring the cost of petroleum down.

Yes oo cause APC supporters a deadly!
kahal29:
he Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on Thursday warned voters to go back to their homes after casting their votes on election days.

Abba, who addressed accredited observers for the general elections in Abuja, said the possibility of committing electoral offence was very high if voters stayed back at the polling booths for votes to be counted.

He said that each polling unit would have at least two or three policemen to protect the votes cast by the electorate.

The IG said, ‘‘Two to three police officers will be attached to each polling unit, and we would provide more officers for the collation centres and for the managers of the elections.

“We will go on to protect the electorate. Every eligible voter should feel safe enough to cast his votes. We will be there to protect the votes and make sure no one disrupts the process.

“Cast your votes and go and cool down. If you remain there, there is a likelihood that you will commit an offence.’’

The police chief advised political parties and their candidates to abide by “one agent to a polling unit,” which the electoral act stipulates.

“Asking voters to wait and protect their votes implies taking the law into their own hands. It is unacceptable,” he said.

Abba said the police were aware of threats by some politicians to declare parallel election results and warned that his men would deal with such act within the ambit of the law.

He added, “We have heard some people are threatening to declare election results; we hope it is not true. If you don’t accept the declared result by INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission), the best way is to proceed to the tribunal.

In advanced democracies, people don’t take the law into their own hands but resort to tribunals.

“The refusal to accept the result and resort to extrajudicial activities is a threat to the electoral process. But where they don’t heed the appeal, the police will act within the law to protect the electoral process.”

The IG said that the police would be loyal to the country, the constitution and all democratic activities before, during and after the elections in which 56,000 Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps officials and 129,000 non-regular personnel would be part of the security arrangements.

While disclosing that the police have “arrested thousands of thugs” and “recovered hundreds of firearms” he condemned the recruitment of miscreants by politicians to achieve their goals.

Abba noted that lateness in commencement of voting, delay in the provision of electoral materials, rigging and manipulation of results were serious threats to electoral process.

He advised INEC to fasten the process of accreditation of voters on election days.

The IG also said in a statement on Thursday that he had ordered tight security around all key and vulnerable points, including the headquarters and offices of INEC and media houses.

Also to witness improved security are Internally Displaced Persons camps, service provider installations, banks, hospitals, National Youth Service Corps lodges, hotels and government offices.

The measure, according to him, is to ward off possible attempt by hoodlums to attack such places .

Abba urged the public to remain steadfast in collaborating with policemen to stamp out crimes, “as the police have perfected strategies to prepare a safe and secure ground to guarantee hitch-free March 28 and April 11, 2015 elections.”

Efforts to speak with the APC spokesman, Lai Mohammed, did not yield result as calls to his telephone rang out.

He also did not respond to a text message sent to him.

Meanwhile, Abba has called for improved synergy between the police and para-military agencies under the Ministry of Interior for enhanced security during and after the polls.

The IG made the call when he visited the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, to strategise on better ways of guaranteeing security during the elections.

He commended the efforts of security agencies in assisting the police in protecting lives and property, saying a lot has been done to ensure that security officers deployed for the polls adhered to best practices.

The minister also expressed satisfaction with the synergy between the paramilitary agencies and the police.

He noted that the rivalry that had earlier existed between the men of the NPF and other security agencies had been curbed.

“I am pleased to note that the networking between the police and the para-military services during your tenure is commendable,” Moro said.

The minister announced that 56,000 NSCDC personnel and 129,000 non-regular personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, would be mobilised for the elections.

He also appealed to the IG to beef up security in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State where Fulani herdsmen killed over 80 people last Sunday.

abouyusuf:
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), said on Thursday that he was contesting to revive the country from its ailing state.

Buhari, who spoke in Lagos at the APC leadership town hall meeting with Nigerian women, also said that he was aware that achieving such a goal would be impossible without addressing the concerns of women.
‘‘I am on a mission to restore Nigeria’s fading glory and reposition our great nation on the path to greatness. I am however aware that this will not be possible without addressing the needs and concerns of those who constitute half of the population of this country – women. No nation can prosper without a commitment to the empowerment of women and girls,’’ he said.

The APC presidential candidate added that as a father of beautiful and promising young women, he knew what it meant to desire the very best for his daughters.

‘‘I do not expect any of my daughters to live unfulfilled, with their talents wasted and ignored, suffering discrimination at every turn, and rendered second-class citizens all because they happen to be female, ’’ he said.

He explained that an APC government under his leadership would, among other things, implement the 2005 National Gender Policy to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality and ensure anti-discrimination legislations and policies to afford women equality and equity especially in employment, education, housing and entrepreneurship.

He promised that his government would also ensure merit-based affirmative actions to create a level-playing field for women and include gender as a component of federal character.

Whatever they do, it's late already cause jonathan has won this election whether devil like it or not!!! PDP all the way
Maple:
The National Coordinator for President Goodluck Jonathan, support group, (Jonathan Shall Lead Again), (JOSLA), Comrade Curtis Ugbo has declared support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari in the 28 March general elections. Ugbo, nicknamed the ‘peoples Speaker’ who spoke to newsmen shortly after he defected with thousands of his supporters cited insincerity on the part of the Edo State PDP leaders as one of the main reasons that led to their defection to the APC alleging that his members who mobilized towards the successful campaign rally for President Jonathan were dumped.

He said “As you are aware am the BOT Chairman and grant patron of Jonathan Shall Lead Again Movement with structure across the country we have been supporting Jonathan’s re-election since 2012 but here in Edo state I discovered that the PDP leaders have not been carrying people along. PDP in Edo state is in wrong hands, the party never shows any appreciation. What will the PDP leaders attracte or do for the people with their billions? What kind of leaders are they?

On Buhari candidacy he said “ Buhari is going to win the election and we are going to give him our total support, so those who are making noise about his age are just playing politics. Buhari intelligence is what counts, this is a man that has ruled us before, so age has nothing to do with it. Politicians always look for mundane things to criticise their opponent”.

PoliticsRe: Yoruba Nation Declares: Only a Bastard Will Vote Jonathan by adefunke34: 3:37am On Mar 20, 2015
Lol we ain't shaking dude, call us whatever we will vote for jonathan cause we don't want and also we don't need violent in our country
peckhamboi:
The historic Parliament Building in Ibadan was over-filled today as prominent Yoruba in all professions, princes and monarchs, governors and former governors, gathered to articulate their aspirations and minimum demands from the Federal Government.

The high point of the summit, convened by the illustrious Yoruba retired army general, Alani Akinrinade was the total support given the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.
The summiteers declared unanimously, “It is Buhari or nobody else”.

A major proponent of this declaration, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade who was represented by High Chief Eddy Oyewole said, “On 28 March, 2015, let us vote for Buhari”.

He condemned the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for wasting the meager resources of the country by lavishly bribing various individuals and groups to secure their supports.
While Senator Anthony Adefuye strongly stated, “Only a bastard Yoruba will vote for Jonathan, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye said, ‘We will vote en masse for Buhari”.

Shortly after delivering the message sent by the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the state, Senator Rasheed Ladoja that he would go the way of Yoruba people.
Senator Ayo Fasanmi declared, “At this point, we Yorubas should know where we are going. PDP is distributing money to earn wrong votes. Come May 29, we will be happy when Buhari becomes the president of the nation.

“Why would Jonathan appoint ministers two months to the end of his term if not that they want to use all means to steal what is left in the coffer; that is if anything is left? By God’s grace, I, Senator Ayo Fasanmi will vote for Buhari. May 29, Buhari will be sworn in as our president.”
National Chairman, Afenifere Renewal Group, ARG, Honourable Olawale Oshun said that considering the fact that Yoruba people have been suffering marginalisation within the Nigerian state for the past 16 years, Yorubas should vote for leaders who have its interests at heart in order to bring an end to this unacceptable state of affairs.

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who decried the high level of maginalisation of Yoruba in the Jonathan led administration said, “We have been subject of brazen marginalization and deliberate attempt to whittle down our historical contributions to the development of Nigeria. It will interest you to note that in the wheel of power at the centre, there are only two Yoruba people. Indeed, out of the 50 most powerful men and women in the executive, legislative, judicial and even security components of power in Nigeria, there are only two Yoruba people. These are the Chief of Staff to the President, whose choice was almost an afterthought and the Accountant General of the Federation.”

Following suit, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of State of Osun joined others in condemning Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, for derailing from the principle of ‘omoluabi” that Yoruba is known for by collecting bribe from a desperate aspirant.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President Candidate of APC, in his short remarks, urged Nigerians to be patient at this trying moment assuring that things would soon change for the better when APC takes over government at the centre.

In the communique issued at the end of the summit, the main grievances of the region include: maginalisation which has attained the status of deliberate policy of the central government of Nigeria, calculated attempts to invade and subjugate Yoruba land through covert, disguised and even official policies of the Central Government, misguiding some elements in the region for their selfish reasons, decimation of entrepreneurial ambitions of Yoruba people through Federal Institutions and agencies that are supposed to be enablers and facilitators of economic development, near virtual absence of reliable and critical infrastructure of electricity, energy, and transportation which has led to the collapse of economic activities in Yoruba land, absence of proactive, concerted, and visionary leadership in Nigeria, insecurity at the level of state of emergency, and failure of the resolutions of the National Conference to resolve fundamental issues that are prerequisite to a sustainable federalism.

As a result, in the communique, they demanded for regionalism, diversification of economy, holding free, fair, credible and transparent elections as scheduled to commence on Saturday, March 28, 2015, resistance to any form of unelected government, be it Government of National Unity, Interim National Government or howsoever described, repealing of laws and policies that stifle the creativity of the people, dismantling of all pseudo-security agencies that impede peace, harass and terrorise her citizens in order to enforce pre-determined agenda that are not consistent with the wishes of the region, and removal of all bottlenecks in the way of provision of effective and efficient transportation system, electrical power, and petroleum refining infrastructure.

According to the communique, “That the effectiveness of the Federal Government of Nigeria lies on focusing on the critical issues of governance that are common to all components, like defence, national security, foreign affairs, currency and exchange rate, etc, while all other socio-economic responsibilities, especially that of resource control, devolve to the federating units. Yoruba must pursue their destiny in line with the development priorities and ambitions of her people. The creation of a structural environment for effective devolution of powers to the country’s constituent units as a strategic development is imperative. Yoruba people will not hesitate to take our destiny in our own hands in the event of any attempt to compromise our democratic existence.”

Dignitaries at the occasion include: Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, and his deputy, Chief Moses Adeyemo, former governors including: Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Otunba Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola of State of Osun, former Military Governor of the Mid-West State, Samuel Ogbemudia, former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Modupe Adelabu, Professor Albert Olawale, former Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Professor Wale Omole, and his Ekiti State University counterpart, Professor Akin Oyebode, Professor John Ayoade, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, Senator Bayo Salami, Senator James Kolawole, , The Managing Director of The News Magazine, Bayo Onanuga, President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Ambassador Olu Sanu, Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, prominent monarchs in the region including: Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo, Akarigbo Remo, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo of Owode-Egba, Asheyin of Iseyin, Oba Ganiyu Adekunle Ologunebi, and Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola.

Buhari is finished and gone!!! He's wicked acts has cut up with him now, GEJ all the way
tit:
Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, says he can never forgive the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), because of the sins he committed against Yoruba leaders while he was head of state between December 1983 and August 1985.

The 87-year-old, who was a close associate of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, said Buhari locked up all the Yoruba governors after overthrowing the Shehu Shagari government.

Adebanjo said this at a post-National Conference in Lagos titled, ‘Into tomorrow and beyond’ on Thursday.

He said, “Back then, Awolowo warned Shagari that his government would soon hit the rock if he did not put things in order. Shortly after, in December 1983, Buhari overthrew the government but the man that was speaking against Shagari (Awolowo), was harrassed by Buhari.

“Buhari picked up all the Yoruba governors: Adekunle Ajasin (Ondo State); Olabisi Onabanjo (Ogun) and others, who were true progressives and locked them up.

“Somebody said I am a Christian and I should forgive Buhari but I said I cannot forgive such. Ajasin’s children say they have forgiven Buhari but I am not in their party, I can’t forgive him.”

Adebanjo said the North was against the implementation of the resolutions of the confab because the region was enjoying the system which is unfavourable to southern Nigeria.

He, therefore, urged Yoruba to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan next week as he had promised to implement the report of the confab.

He also dismissed claims that he and other Afenifere leaders had been bribed by Jonathan.

He said, “I am saying vote Jonathan not because he is Ijaw or from the South-South. No northerner will convoke a national conference because everything we are talking of that has been unfavourable to the South; they (North) are the beneficiaries.”

jimrox:
One wonders, what is the consideration for the support Goodluck Jonathan enjoyed from the southeasterners, mainly Igbos in his first term and his reelection for the second time.

Gooduck is from south, at the conclusion of his tenure, the power will shift back to North, this will be for another 8 years. The power will then come back to the south, but at this period, South East may not be able to get the support of the co- southerners to emerge presidential candidate. The opposition will even start from within the Igbo themselves. This will pave way for a south westerner to emerge with likely support from the north.

on the other hand, if Buhari wins , the story is the same. it will have been a little easier if igbos support the candidacy of buhari, and wins, tendencies are there that the north may throw their weight behind Igbo candidate. But as it is now, the fate of the igbos are is hanging on the balance.

The irresponsible allegations of APC:
These guys dont realise that in Cote d Ivoire, there was already a civil war on, and the UN was part of the electoral process. Also, the opposition had the backing of a certain European Nation! This was why the UN and the AU accepted that the opposition form a parallel Government, after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the opposition, after the third count. Nigeria is a totally different scenario. No Western Gov is backing any opposition here (people should stop confusing AKPD/consultants propaganda with the neutral position of the US Government). There is no civil war on in Nigeria with the UN involved in our election. The threat of forming a parallel Gov should be treated as TREASON. The false accusations from Tinubu, Mbaka and co, "of Mr President wanting to kill them", should be legally dealt with! This is criminal, especially, when there is absolutely no evidence. Nigerians dont want desperate politicians to cause confusion and turn Nigeria into a bloodbath, simply because of their own selfish desperation to grab power at all costs!
This "freedom of expression" has been manipulated irresponsibly by many! People should not make these kinds of unguarded, inflammatory statements at a time like this. What is Tinubu's evidence? Or Mbaka's yet every one has heard them. There is no possibility of a Core d'Ivoire happening here! Period!!
Just imagine that GEJ was Baba, many of them falsely accusing GEJ of wanting to kill them would have been picked up by now......or if GEJ decides to act like Putin, who would have immediately dealt with the threat to form a parallel Government, as the State against treason/conspiracy to destabilise the Nation . We dont see Jeb Bush falsely accusing Obama that he wants to kill him and others, nor do we see Daddy GO Adeboye, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria or the Pope, playing politics and departing from spreading the word of God, to accuse their President of wanting to kill them. If this trend of unchecked propaganda continues, it will unleash a new chapter of horror and violence in Nigeria, as many will be misled by the selfish Confusionsts! Hitler was ignored by many and written off as "all rhetorics", until he started the second world war!! Nigerians, must start to rise up against these inflammatory statements, as it is clear, that some people want Nigeria to descend into a total State of anarchy!
