It was reported that Diri while lamenting the increasing proliferation of arms and worsening insecurity across the states, urged the federal government to take a holistic approach in dealing with the incessant killings the nation, especially in the Northern region.

Diri spoke when the Theatre Commander of Operation Restore Peace in the South-South and South-East, DIG Moses Jitoboh, led a delegation of senior officers to pay him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yenagoa, at the weekend.

Represented by his deputy, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, governor Diri noted that although peace was being threatened in all geopolitical zones of the country, there is a need for special attention to the North.

El Salvador is developing a bill to recognize bitcoin (BTC, -0.42%) as legal tender, according to President Nayib Bukele. In a videotaped announcement shown Saturday, he said he will submit the bill next week.

Zap’s Jack Mallers announced the news at the Bitcoin 2021 conference in Miami. He said his company is working with Bukele to implement a plan.

The bill must still be reviewed by the country’s legislative assembly. But with the populist Bukele’s upstart political party in firm control of that body, approval seemed all but assured Saturday afternoon.

The bill’s approval would likely make El Salvador the first nation to adopt a bitcoin standard. Its full text was not immediately available.

As of now, El Salvador is set to be the first bitcoin country,” Mallers said, “and the first country to make bitcoin legal tender and treat it as a world currency and have bitcoin on their reserves.”

But it is not yet clear what being “the first bitcoin country” will mean for the fiscally unstable and oppressively poor Central American nation, where 70% of residents lack a banking account. El Salvador’s gross domestic product was $24.6 billion in 2020, according to Statista.

The 39-year-old Bukele claimed in recorded remarks his plan will have short-term benefits for thousands of unbanked individuals. He also claimed it will generate jobs.

“And in the medium and long term, we hope that this decision can help us push humanity, at least a tiny bit, into the right direction,” Bukele said.

A group of unknown military men shot and killed a lot of innocent people whose intentions was just to carry out baptism in Burkina Faso. The deadly attack was carried out at night in a remote village located in the northern part of the country.

Right now, the perpetrators of this crime are still unknown with their whereabouts undisclosed.

Many air passengers, including the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, escaped death by whiskers as Kano-Abuja Max Air aircraft developed engine failure 10 minutes after take-off from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA.

The aircraft later took off around 2:00 pm with passengers filled to the brim.

It was gathered that 10 minutes after the take-off, the plane began to swerve around the air until it made a detour for an emergency landing.

Sources said an engine failure allegedly caused the incident, just as others attributed the incident to a bird strike.

Narrating the incident, one of the passengers, Dr Samaila Suleiman, said it was a near-death incident, accusing the airliner of negligence.

Sulaiman disclosed that he heard a strange sound when the aircraft took off but dismissed any strange feeling of insecurity

A well-known traditional Yoruba ruler and seer in the southern part of Nigeria has taken his time to issue a strong warning to the National leader of All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu concerning his ambition to become the next president of Nigeria in 2023.

The famous priest known as Egbeji Ologun, also disclosed that he once advised the national leader not to make attempts to become the president in 2023 just as he warned MKO Abiola against such in 1993 but Abiola discarded his words of wisdom which eventually lead to his demise.

Egbeji Ologun however warn Tinubu to learn from the mistakes of Abiola the businessman, so that he won't end up sorrowfully and bring pain upon the people of Yoruba at large.

It is clear now of what the terrorist group in Nigeria wants. Since 2002, Boko Haram has been in Nigeria and they've wanted a country of their own. Unfortunately, that didn't happen because Nigeria isn't ready to break up.

They were peaceful in their course till 2009 when they became violent. Now, speaking with the people of Borno and Yobe state, they said they want peace and that anyone who is against their course is their target.

According to the report given by Sahara reporters, they said they want a country of their own. A country of people who believes in Islam. They appeal to the villagers and people around to follow them. In return, they promise them security, good food and clothing.

What are we going to say about this? Its obvious that everyone wants separation as we speak. Even the deadly terrorist group in Nigeria have spoken their mind on what they want. Only an Islamic country and that would be all.

Do we think this would be possible? If it won't be possible, what would be the fate of the Christians and Muslims who are against them?

Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan, has expressed his excitement, after being flown to Bamako, Mali by Nigeria’s first female military pilot, Blessing Liman, who was commissioned during his administration.

Goodluck Jonathan arrived the West African country on Sunday, May 9, as part of the ECOWAS team engaging the people and government of Mali for a return to democracy.

The ex-president on sharing a picture of his arrival via his Twitter handle, wrote;

“I am pleased to have been flown to Bamako, Mali, by a pair of Nigerian Airforce pilots one of whom is Blessing Liman, a committed NAF flying officer who emerged as Nigeria’s first female military pilot under our administration.”

Militants belonging to the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, have released pictures of their recent attack on Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe state.

ISWAP in a statement sighted by SaharaReporters, displayed different models of armoured tanks and operational hilux vehicles the group allegedly captured from Nigerian soldiers during the attack.

The group also displayed different photos showing fighters and their vehicles moving freely in the town amongst civilians.

The country is like a capsized ship

It is not as if the South-east and the west don't also produce food items, but the Northern part of the country is somehow rich in some food items such as onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger Yams and so on and so forth. The Northerners often package their food stuffs in large quantity in big trucks and drive for couple of days before they eventually land in their destination.

Once the food arrives in the South, the next thing they do is try as much as possible to get them to the market where those particular foods are needed and then they will be sold to retailers before the food gets to we the end users. But now that the Fulani herdsmen and the Southern residents are no longer on peaceful grounds because of extrajudicial killings the Fulani herdsmen were responsible for.
