gentlegenius:
I don't know why this useless APC government choose to play politics with almost everything. It seems like almost everything they say or do now is aimed at getting our support at the polls.
The N-Power scheme was instigated to reinvest the money we saved by fuel subsidy removal into paying our uneducated graduates to work for the period of 1 year.
When crude oil was selling for about $60 per barrel, and the importation cost of petrol was around 145 naira per litre, the federal government was paying almost nothing to subsidise fuel. So the money they could have spent on fuel subsidy was channelled in paying N power beneficiaries. That's why the scheme was working then.
Right now, crude oil sell for almost $180 per barrel and petrol importation cost 225 naira per liter when we are still buying fuel for 145, the 60 naira surplus is paid by the federal government through the NNPC. Due to the enormous quantity of petrol consumed in this country, the government now spends about 2.4 billion naira every day on fuel subsidy.
With such expenditure, where will the government get money to fund the N power scheme?
Why can't this government tell us the truth that they can no longer fund the scheme because they are unable to remove fuel subsidy completely.
They just keep lying to us about the scheme so that they could get our support at the polls. The truth is that for some months now, they haven't been able to pay those who were already admitted into the scheme. But they keep promising us that new beneficiaries will be recruited.
Even the feeding of primary school pupils stopped since last term in my area, yet this yeye government still boast of that as if it was a remarkable achievement in the first place. All this lies is just to seek our support at the polls.

Fani-Kayode is a useless nonentity, a fool and an unreasonable human being. He was part of Jonathan's government and what did they do to stop the killings by Boko Haram then? He is criticizing, abusing and cursing the best ever Vice President of this country. Fani-Kayode is mad and he will not well.

If you are emotional about the killings, it is necessary and good...cos we are talking about the lives of people and i am not happy about it as well but you need to understand that these killings is affecting the president too and he's not happy as well. The president is really trying his possible best to put an end to these killings and he vowed not to rest until the killings stop. You only don't need to be sentimental because the killings did not start by this administration.

The Security Forces must always be on full alert to checkmate this evil attacks on people as the killings are politically inclined. The government must not rest until they are able to stop these ravages...
The attacks must be physically, utterly and totally condemnable and the needful to stop it must be done... The lives of every citizens is very important and must not be toying or playing politics with. Nigeria must be freed from this evil acts by some unscrupulous, unjust, vicious and clandestine elements with their aim at instigating destruction in the country and make this govenrment ungovernable.

It is obvious and glaring that there are clandestine forces behind these incessant and senseless killings ongoing in the country to make this government ungovernable for their political gains and selfish purposes.
The government should not rest until they put an end to the killings for peace to reign in the country and those people behind the killings must put to justice.

These NASS are not more than us, we elected them and we must be able to question their authority because they are supposed to be representing our interest.

OlufunkeAwoyale:
OPEN LETTER TO OLUWASEUN OSEWA (NAIRALAND)

Dear OLuwaseun Osewa,

It is disheartening and quite unfortunate that you have a biased attitude towards some of the stories been uploaded on your forum (Nairaland). You are going against some of your rules and policies, as well as showing favouritism and double standard to some group of people.

You delete some posts that speak truth and addresses some cogent issues in the country. To mention but few "Who is afraid of Igbos". An article written to x-ray the political history of Igbo relationship with entire nation was removed within few days while Ochereome Nnanna write up calling "Yorubas sophisticated morons" was allowed to trend for weeks before you decide to remove it. However, Ochereome Nnanna article reflects tribalism, ethnic jingoism and political insurgency.

Questions for you:
- Has Nairaland be bought over?
- Are you working for a political party or tribe?
- Is the credibility and integrity of Nairaland still intact?
- Has Nairaland been hijacked?

It is clear that some of the rules of this forum are just there for all to see and there is no adherence to the rules. There are different people with different opinions, as a professional blogger, you should not remove a post that doesn't suit your taste.

I implore you to urgently react to these issues and do the needful before Nairaland become a junk forum.

Signed:

Olufunke Awoyale

Attached to this letter are rule 2 and 7 factors.

1. "Who is afraid of Igbos" is a justification of adhering strictly to the rules and regulations as stated and stipulated in rule 2 of Nairaland while Ochereome Nnanna write up calling Yorubas "sophisticated morons" is not.

2. You have breach and go against rule 7 which preach against parochialism, tribalism, nepotism and political insurgency. You are now the promoter of the aforementioned factors.

I hereby demand unreserved apology from you to address your unjustifiable and unfairness attitude towards Yoruba nation and every affected section of the Yoruba extraction
I cannot concur by the biased, prejudiced, partiality and sentimental of Nairaland owner/blogger... It is disheartening, unprofessional, unbecoming and inappropriate to be deleting some news that doesn't suit his taste. This platform is meant to address and attend to cogent and reasonable ongoing things in the country.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Afraid Of Igbo? by AdelekeKehinde(f): 4:03pm On Jun 20, 2018
In life you don't create more enemies but you build more friends to succeed... Reverse is the case as Igbos' case be. In an egalitarian society, there is equality. Igbos need to understand the fact that they need to support other tribes for them to support their tribe as well. There should be mutual understanding, cooperation and unity among the tribes and not other way round. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that...
Igbos need to change their mindset for them to succeed in the game of Nigeria politics... A tree does not make a forest.
PoliticsRe: Between Domination And Dissociation by AdelekeKehinde(f): 11:42am On Jun 19, 2018
Greediness, sentimentalism, parochialism, nepotism, superiority & inferiority complex, tribal hatred and egocentrism are the factors affecting the Igbos which cause the dissociation and isolation in the country. They ought to know that this country belongs to us all and we are all equal in the politics of Nigeria. They need to realize that isolation cannot do them good but bad...

because he declared June 12 democracy day, and recognized late Abiola a president, he has automatically won the hearts of the Yorubas, this shows why Nigeria is in the mess it is, it takes little or nothing to deceive Nigerians, just use religious or tribal tactics, you have won... my question is, should the recognition of Abiola as a former president be part of the accomplishments of this present administration, if yes, how does it help or make the life of the common man in Nigeria better, how many three square meals has it put on your table ,how does it reflect on our GDP or economy as a whole, how does it even benefit the Yorubas that are going gaga for it and calling igbos haters, hope you no the benefits goes to only Abiolas family and not the whole Yoruba nation... little wonder every single past government have capitalized on the intellectual laziness of Nigerians in order to get into power and also keep power, they keep telling you the same shit over and over again... for Nigerians to vote in a 75 years old man into power, tell alot of how intellectually handicapped they are... the weakest points of every Nigerian is two things, religion and tribalism, capitalize on this, and Nigeria will be under your feet, abeg lemme come and be going b4 they label me ipob toot of igbo hater
Even before he declared June 12 Democracy Day, Yorubas are behind him... It is only a myopic who cannot think beyond what they see that will say this government is not working for the progress of the country. May I inform you, the declaration of June 12 by Buhari is an achievement and fulfillment of long awaited dream by Yorubas. Let me finger your brain, Buhari still remain the most simplest and humble President so far and Yemi Osinbajo remains the best vice president this country has ever produced...You can argue with your ancestor. The projects/programmes initiated by this administration cannot be overlooked and overemphasized because of the impact the programmes have on masses. The good works still continue, you may hate this government base on your hatred, nepotism and hypocrisy but that cannot change the fact that Buhari is still the best...
