Kaduna State Gubernatorial Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honorable Isa Mohammed Ashiru has condemned the killings in Kajuru local government Area of the state. The guber hopeful in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday said, “It is with an absolute shock that I received the news, broken by the Kaduna State Governor, of the murder of many people in some settlements in Kajuru Local Government Area of our dear Kaduna State. “This unfortunate incident is not only an unwanted addition to the list of the past similar ones but is also a clear indication that insecurity still remains a huge challenge in some parts of Kaduna State. “I, therefore, wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, people of Kajuru Local Government Area as well as the Government and the entire people of Kaduna State over this unfortunate incident. It is my fervent prayer that Almighty God who created those souls will expose the perpetrators of the heinous act”. Honourable Ashiru therefore urged the Kaduna State Government and all the relevant Security Agencies to ensure that the criminals who carried out the killings are fished out and brought to justice. “This will require a tremendous determination and demonstration of a sense of justice and fairness on the part of the authorities whose responsibility is to not only deal appropriately with the perpetrators of such acts but to also forestall their recurrence. “Let me quickly remind my dear good people of Kaduna State of the need to embrace peace and eschew violence so that the diversity with which Almighty God has endowed us can be harnessed for the good of all of us. “Our State is big, bountiful and rich enough to accommodate all of us; all we need to do is to continuously remind ourselves of the fact that resorting to violence has never benefitted us as a people. In fact, such an act which results in the loss of human lives diminishes us as a people. “We should therefore endeavour to come together, regardless of political, religious or ethnic differences, to let the world know that we are committed to ridding our state of violence and at the same time willing to live as the true brothers and sisters that we have always been”. Two persons have been arrested in Ebonyi State while allegedly planting improvised explosive devices on Idembia bridge in Ezza South Local Government Area.

Governor David Umahi stated this in a special broadcast on Friday.

He said the arrest followed intelligence that some members of ‘a political party’ were planning to bomb bridges and other installations in the state.

He said the two suspects were arrested by villagers living close to the bridge which links Ezza South to Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The governor also said that a National Assembly candidate of a political party, a few days ago, went to a quarry in the state ”to purchase explosives but was turned down by the operators who also reported to the state government”.

Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church a.k.a. Winners Chapel

The police in Ogun, on Wednesday arraigned two staff members of the Living Faith Church, Canaanland in Ota, Afolabi Samuel, 46, and Blessing Kolawole, 39, in an Ota Magistrates‘ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing N38 million.

The police charged Samuel and Kolawole, whose addresses were not given with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence between Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, 2018, at about 10 a.m. at the Living Faith Church, Canaanland, Ota.

Mustapha alleged that the accused persons conspired and stole N38 million belonging to the church.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390(2)(6)(8b) (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

After the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Mathew Akinyemi admitted the accused persons to bail in the sum of N2 million each with two sureties each in like sum.

Akinyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.

He adjourned the case until Feb. 20 for further hearing.

Remember it took former president six weeks to name his cabinet while president Buhari took six months.
PDP will always have our respect in that the ministers they chose were not always all politicians.
Looking at APC, we see a group of ministers who are largely politicians hence, they lack the technical know-how to solve challenges.
In PDP administration, I remember these few ministers who had created good lasting impressions in my mind and that of many Nigerians.
