UN to raise 200 million dollars to help Rohingya Muslims refugees after Buhari's speech - The United Nations has estimated 200 million dollars to help Rohingya Muslims refugees who have fled to Bangladesh - This is coming after President Buahri spoke out against the killings of the Rohingya Muslims The United Nations, on Friday, estimated 200 million dollars to help Rohingya Muslims refugees who have fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar in “massive numbers” to escape a bloody military campaign, Vanguard reports. The UN decision came few days after President Muhammadu Buhari spoke out against the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh. Recall that NAIJ.com reported that President Buhari, on Tuesday, September 19, while addressing other world leaders at the UN condemned the killings. He said: “Right now, we’re looking at $200 million. “It has not been confirmed, but it is a ballpark figure based on the estimates on the information we have. “We base these appeals on immediate needs, and right now we know they’re going to be here for six months." Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Buhari is to spend four days in London before returning to Nigeria, his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, has confirmed. From Adesina’s confirmation, President Buhari is expected back in Nigeria on Monday, September 25. Adesina did not give the actual reason Buhari is in London. “We just landed in London. The president is in transit; to be back in Nigeria on Monday,” he said. https://www.naij.com/1126731-un-stands-killings-rohingya-muslims-buharis-speech.html |

Enugu APC endorses Buhari for another term, demands sack of his minister - Enugu APC says it wants Onyeama removed as minister because of his poor delivery on expectations - The party also thinks nobody should struggle the position of president with Buhari in 2019 because he is the best and only choice - Enugu APC chairman Ben Nwoye made the declarations on Saturday The Enugu state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is in support of a second term in office for President Muhammadu Buhari. According to reports from the Coal City, the ruling party said the president has no competition. The party however called for the resignation of one of President Buhari’s minister Geoffrey Onyeama. The party said its call for Onyeama’s removal is based on his alleged abysmal performance that got a tipping point at the just concluded United Nations General Assembly in New York. The party’s position was made clear on Saturday, September 23 headed by state chairman Ben Nwoye. He said: “The fact that Buhari is incumbent does not automatically confer on him the candidature of the party in the next election if there is internal democracy in the party. “The fact that you are a sitting president does not mean other members of the party cannot contest against you. If I were Buhari, I will welcome competition in my party. “This is an opening for democracy in my party and I will ask people to come and test their popularity. If he has done well, people will re-elect him.” https://www.naij.com/1126817-enugu-apc-endorses-buhari-term-demands-sack-minister.html |

That President Goodluck Jonathan went AWOL and was not in the hall when he was called to address a Special Summit of African Heads of States is no longer news. What is news is that the President who is a heavy drinker was in his element at the early hours of last Saturday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where the event took place. Sources claim that President Jonathan who was known for his drinking prowess and not for his erudition while he worked for University of Port Harcourt started drinking on Friday night and drank till the wee hours of the following day. It was said that the President sunk so low that at a point he started vomiting, and had to be helped by his friends and security service personnel to his hotel room. Orijoreporter was told that he woke up with a terrible hangover and had to excuse himself from one of his schedule, which was to give a speech at the summit. However, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented Nigeria’s statement to the AU on President Jonathan’s behalf. http://www.orijoreporter.com/real-reason-president-jonathan-missed-au-summit-slot-got-drunk-hours-to-the-event/
