sunshineG: I think you guys have the same thinking though. Since neither of you have faith in God Been a misotheist doesn't mean you quit ya believe, it only shows you hate god... It also doesn't equate you don't have faith, but you hate God. BTW, faith is word that is used in context of CHRISTIANITY. Atheists don't believe in faith |

sunshineG: Acctually your examples on the Telecoms analog only strengthen my point...because you only notice the promotions of other service provider when yours is providing nothing ( or you think it is providing nothing) this where the frustration comes in, and you decide to try other service providers .....I can agree some levels of frustration maybe more than the others..
And there is a thing called switching barriers in business that prevents customers from switching, but let us keep it strictly to religion Hiannnnnn It's not easy breaking down simple 1+1=2 to romancelanders óò.... Anyways, What about other factors that might make one have a rethink for wanting to change a provider? - this is an evidence that you ignore the loss. What you see as FRUSTRATION is called COMPETITION between network providers. |

sunshineG: bro Acctually my point is quite straightforward
Take for example, you cannot leave your mobile operator if it suits your need, you can only leave it when you feel it doesn't work as well as it should, that is the frustration....it is the way human being are wired Christianity is good at counting the hits and ignoring the loss. You're counting the hits and ignoring the loss. Back to ya message, you cited CHANGING of telecomm provider as an analogy, but do you know ya analogy is flawed? One might decide to change his/her network provider due to numerous reasons which depend on personal preferences (like ROLL OUT OF BONUS FROM OTHER PROVIDERS, AVAILABILITY OF NEW PROVIDERS, PERSON INTEREST OF CHANGING PROVIDER, NEW PHONE ACCQUIRED DOESN'T SUPPORT SIMCARD OF THE CURRENT PROVIDER YOU'RE USING etc). Frustration might not/may never even be a factor for changing provider. So you see ya analogy falls flat. This is the same analogy you should apply to religion to understand my stance
And yes people from other religions now convert to atheism, but it broke out Christianity Hian. OH my God oo |

sunshineG: Frustration plays a key role in atheism, frustration with Christianity.....your atheist brothers even admitted to my assertions My problem with you is, you keep lamenting on FRUSTRATION, yet if I ask you to explain, you will start running in circles. Now, there are lots of flaws in ya statement. There are Ex-budhist, ex Muslims, ex-hindus who are now atheists do you mean to say frustration led them out of their belief system? What about people who left Christianity for Islam, do you mean to say frustration led them out of Christianity? Now, lemme play the victim card back at you, MUSLIMS that are now Christians, do you wanna say frustration led them out of Islam? What about Atheists who later became Christians, did frustration also lead them out of ATHEISM? |

Why is my counter assertion on Saudi Arabia out of point? don't you know that saudi is ruled by a king. Or do you think atheism is allowed in Saudi or northern Nigeria

analice107: Yes, there's nothing like 'A True Christian'. It's either you are a Christian or you are not. For, a Christian is not he who attends church every day and belongs to all the units in church.
A Christian is he who is renewed in Spirit. No man can be renewed and turn away from Christ. IF only you've been responding like this, we wouldn't have been quarrelling over nothing. @bold I'm lost |

But for good people to do bad, it takes religion I dont mock frustrated people only stating the obvious You still haven't explained anything bro. besides atheists shouldn't believe they can preach depression to others too.... You just contradicted yourself above by saying "you don't mock frustrated people". Here you are doing same thing you preach against. life is a battle that we all have to struggle with... so no one should feel like he/she have more reasons to be frustrated than me..... sunshineG: I have the right to religious worship
No it is not what people think that matters, it is what you think about yourself that matters...no amount of external validation can change what you think about yourself
you people are not sure of your self, hence you hide your believe and go with the flow
I have already explained that point you want me to elaborate on in my previous post Stupidity doesn't equate atheism. Can you go to Saudi Arabia(Mecca) to shout Jesus died for their sins without them chopping off ya head? Infact, mecca is too far. I can pay your transport fare down to Sokoto.. When you arrive, kindly enter any mosque and say JESUS is ALLAH |

hopefulLandlord: Are you really making a conscious choice? I have pointed out many times, I find it hard to understand that religious people can be so convinced that the God they serve is the correct one. The fact is that most people serve the God they were born into. If you were born in Afghanistan you would be a devout Muslim that hate Christians. Being born in the bible belt you would be a devout Christian etc. It's amazing how much heredity and geography play into one's "choice" (I use that term loosely) of a god. It also seems that the most adherent followers of a particular deity are also the least informed about the other options. Religious people seem to avoid thinking about this because it makes them uncomfortable.
I ask again, Are you really making any conscious choice? you serve a god that claims to be omniscient, Before you were born he already knew your entire life story. So yes in fact, his foreknowledge dictates your actions. Because 13 billion years before you ever existed, he KNEW everything about you and all your actions till the day you die. This is the meaning of Omniscience to know everything possible to be know. If it's possible to be known, god knows it. Including everyone of your actions. And since god is omniscient ALL the time, he knew everything about you 13 billion years before you were born. So all your actions he already foreknew. And if you change your mind, you didn't really change your mind because 13 billion years before you were born god already knew you would change your mind.
Did you really make any choice?

Toks2008: The power of choice comes with its consequences.
I chose to accept Jesus as my lord and saviour while another chose not to...it all boils down to the choice we make regardless of our creator. That is the question, before the advent of Christianity, there have been other religions. Those before Christianity, do you mean to tell me that will rot in hell? |

I believe it's perfectly normal to think that way bro. Please let's be very frank and sincere, doesn't it bother you that you're in heaven and your children are burning in the lake of fire?
This can only happen if the memories of your loved ones is wiped off This was the very question I asked myself while I was still a christian. tosyne2much: All I know is that hell will be more fun than heaven cos things will really be bubbling there
Jokes apart
Most times, I ask myself if God can be so cruel to subject his children to eternal pain by watching them burn in a fiery furnace for their misdeeds.
Sometimes, I even ask myself what is the happiness and joy in making heaven if my wife and children are burning in hell?
As a person, I find it hard to believe that an ever loving God would be very comfortable with such a thing, and I think that the concept of hell and heaven is what becomes a mystery till date Introduction to atheism. Atheism 101 |
