vivalavida: Nzeogwu was born to igbo parents who hail from Delta. He was born in Kaduna Ifeajuna is an Igbo from Onitsha, he was a science graduate frim the University College of Ibadan and became involved in politics, later joining the military. There is something interesting about Ifeajuna, just like Judas Iscariot, he was executed following a plot to agree a ceasefire with Nigeria and overthrow Emeka Ojukwu. |

Politics / Why the Yoruba Nation is not seeking for secession by Adesege(m): 5:59pm On Dec 06, 2015 |
Let me quickly state some facts here, I'm not inciting any tribe against each other with this post but I think it will be better I put the records straight on why the Yoruba nation is silent. The Yoruba nation is made up of intelligent people from all works of life who knows their left from their right. According to articles on the 1967 civil war, what led to the agitation of Biafra is nothing but greed, lust after power, among others. The igbos want to be at the helm of affairs by all means and cos they were not given the chance, they seek for secession. Bishop Kukah once said in a public lecture, after he asked a friend who was in the military in the US how coup is plot and I quote "... The idea of a coup could come from an individual who might then sell it to another very close friend. It is hard to know whom to trust so you have to know how to send out feelers. So, for example, you meet a friend and you ask, how are things? And he says, well, my brother, country hard. You could go on and say something like, how can things be so bad? Will we continue like this? It is really terrible. Then you watch and see or hear his reaction. If he is of the same feeling of frustration, then you know that he is a good material and you go from there ..." This outrightly explains the agitation of Biafra. Chimanmada Adichie, in her book Half of a yellow sun, acknowledged that Ojukwu never had the ammunitions to fight the war. The people thought he had everything planned until they saw that he was as clueless as they themselves. No offences meant. Also, the people, having returned from Kano empty handed, gave the little they had to the military and the military encouraged it. The Yoruba Nation, not out of fear, knows that any secession will lead to war and cos we are peace loving and educated, we ruled secession out. It will cost the Yoruba nation nothing to break outta Nigeria but of what usefulness will that be? The Northerners, according to what I read, were not happy with the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates from start. They opposed it, that was why power was handed over to them to woo them. The South-South also has every reason to stand alone but they are not greedy after all. They own 90% of revenues at the federal level yet they never bragged. The South East are trying to woo them to be part of Biafra yet this people never accepted. They understand history will repeat itself. Bishop Kukah theory or the military theory on coup is like moving in a circle. The second unseats the first, the third unseats the second, and it just goes on. God bless Nigeria 13 Likes |

Webmasters / Re: Let's Learn Javascript by Adesege(m): 12:06pm On Dec 06, 2015 |
hollyfat: While you are right that confirm() is a method, it can return any type. So it doesn't restrict it to boolean alone, as some believes. Cheers, Adesege |

What tunddy meant is or should have been, after declaring a variable, do one need to cast it to a specific type or does one need to declare the type also. No, tunddy. You cannot declare a type for a variable but you can cast the value to a specific type. Take for example, var zee. Depending on how you use the variable zee, it can take any type. Zee can be of a boolean type, string type, int type, float type, etc. But if you want to get a particular type, you can cast it. For example, zee='10' is different from zee=10. The first is of string type while the latter is an integer but you can cast the former into an interger by zee=parseInt(zee); This will change the type from string to integer. Hope that helps. Webmasters / Re: Let's Learn Something 2 - The Importance Of Specifying A Doc Type by Adesege(m): 1:44am On Nov 27, 2015 |
Nmeri17: Hello, I will make an assumption you are declaring a html4 doc type. If my assumption is right, then you are experiencing a cross platform issue. The reason is because html4 or lower declares some default values for some css properties while html5 does not. When migrating from older versions of a platforms/softwares, be sure to read the backward compatibility for detailed explanations on changes made. For example, html4 declares a default padding/paragraph from the start of a document, while html5 does not. So if there is any funny behaviour, know that something has changed. In between, Yawatide, nice seeing a female programmer with passion. Do you write programs or you just code? Best regards, Adesege. |

Sometimes, it only takes looking into one's eyes and I will tell you we've met before, even when we've not met before. Also, I tend to speak new words, words I haven't heard of before, in my dream. When I wake up and search my dictionary, the words will be there. Alot of crazy stuffs like that. It got to a point I almost visited my doctor. Bonjour |

tolaxin: It depends on how confident you are and how you dress. Your approach is another good thing. I can remember when I was there, I wore a well ironed long sleeve tucked inside a black Prada trousers with a Prada shoe. Those things don't cost much anyway. Even when I was worn out and tired, I still put up a smile whenever I enter into any office. Also, if you can meet with a lady, your problem is half solved cos you will definitely have the courage to talk freely and even smile. During your conversation with anybody you will meet, do not be quick to talk about money. It will only show how desperate you are and you maybe exploited. Do not talk about money at all except the other party does so. Be yourself and when necessary, you can explain why your life depends on the admission. If you are afraid of being sent away, I'm afraid you are not ready for success. Best regards, Adesege |

tolaxin: Please know that this is a game of every man for himself. I had to travel down from Lagos, against all odds, in order to get those information. I can help by suggesting those you can meet. The Registrar's office is a good place to start. You don't really need to know anyone to enter the office. If the security personnel ask who you are looking for, there are two things. 1. You can either tell him/her why you are there and who he/she can direct you to or 2. Since some security officers can be so aggressive, you can put on a strong face and tell him/her you came to follow up your admission. You can then tell her to direct you to any of the offices. 3. The receptionist's /secretary's office is a good place to make enquiries. Tell the security officer you want to see the secretary/receptionist. You know what to do from there. The admissions office is another good place. There is no security officer around there. So just walk up to any of the offices and explain yourself. If possible, put up a pity look. You can also try the CRC. You will meet a security personnel there, be confident to say why you are there and you will be directed to the appropriate office. The SUB is there and even your department. I was around School of Science throughout my stay in Akure. Tho, I wasn't making any enquiries, I was reading the great Novel by Chimamanda Adichie, Half of a Yellow Sun, but I learnt one can walk up to any of the HODs and even students to make enquiries. I hope this helps you. Best regards, Adesege |

Good day fellow FUTArianz. I've been an ardent follower of this thread and it will not be nice of me to keep whatever information I have to myself. Firstly, there is a supplementary list forthcoming. Secondly, the VC list is yet to be released. It will be pertinent to note that there are procedures involving admission processes generally in any tertiary institutions. Firstly, the school compiles list of candidates, then forwards it to JAMB admissions office, Abuja, then it is sent back to the school for onward transmission online. Like the just released list, the first and second processes had been completed since last week Friday but the school delayed it till Tuesday. Like I said, there is a supplementary list forthcoming. It is being compiled. It will be to your advantage to be in school and look for ways of how your name can be squeezed into it before it is sent to Abuja. You have till next week Wednesday, after which I cant guarantee if it is still possible or not. Like i said, I'm a silent reader. Do not quote me pls. Hello, I learnt one thing from Architecture, though I'm not one but I've mingled with those in the profession, you sell what you don't have or what you can imagine. An Architect will design a building and start marketing it even when he/she hasn't started building the prototype. This is the concept jumia, konga and the rest use. All what they sell are not outrighly owned by them. They may either source for sellers or they source for what their clients are looking for. If you want to breakthrough, I will advice you start a mini shop in your area. That you have a shop is an added advantage. Tell people you can help them get what they want at even cheaper rate. Compare your prices with other shopping platforms and give mouth watering discounts. You may need to liaise with companies who produce what you are looking for but that is better than going thru a third party. Also, this does not require much capital to start. It depends on your communication skills and how well you relate with people. I saw someone post that he can run errands for anyone in Ibadan here on Nairaland. You can start from somewhere/anywhere. Best regards, Adesege |

If you want to consider safety, server up time, and support, never try a Nigerian web host. If you want to consider the number of bandwidth and disk space that will be allocated to you, never try a Nigerian web host. If your website will not be having much files and traffic, you can try Nigerian web host. If you will not regret waking up one day and discover that your site is inaccessible, you can try Nigerian web host. I'm a Nigerian and I'm not painting my country black. Just trying to give you some advice. If you will consider going for a foreign host, use the one that already has a name and you are sure that there will be no disappointment thereafter. My advice. Best regards, Adesege |
