Why should filling stations be built around residential areas?
I do agree with tizzle, filling stations are not supposed to be built around commercial or residential areas...they should be built in secluded locations ...in the western/european world, its quite rare u see filling stations built close or meters away from residential and commercial areas.

Those countries you cited has no reason to use fuel to run their generating set.

Imagine you want to buy some litres of fuel asap but the thoughts of trekking / walking to get same will be frustrating esp if there is no car to transport you.

Distance apart is still feasible.

Fueling stations shouldn't be built around residential areas...

Can you provide alternatives pls? If not around residential areas, but where? Commercial areas?

I think safety measures should be put in place instead. E.g There is no fire service in the area.

Also, there should be some distance apart between a fuel station and residential buildings.

Nairaland / General / Scarcity Of Aviation Fuel Hampers Flight Operations by Adesege(m): 3:00am On Apr 25, 2016
Many flights were delayed and few others cancelled at the weekend following the inability of most airlines to receive the volume of aviation fuel, known as Jet A1, they needed for scheduled flights operations.

THISDAY gathered that due to the paucity of the product, oil marketers resorted to rationing the product to airlines, sharing the product at the ramp, from one aircraft to another.

Airlines had positioned their aircraft, hoping the fuel would reach them as the bowsers moved between the airside of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) to the domestic terminal, known as MMA2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

An official of one major domestic carriers told THISDAY that the fuel scarcity affected all the airlines’ operations as it caused delays and flight cancellations. He said the situation was beyond the control of what airline management could do.

“So we just ensure that we carry out the important flights to different destinations as we get fuel,” he said.

It was the same scenario at the international wing of the airport. Although most foreign airlines are on contract with oil marketers but more than two weeks ago, the international airlines adopted the strategy to fuel outside Nigeria and top up when they arrive in the country.

On Friday THISDAY learnt that Arik, which at the peak of operation required about 1.2 million litres of fuel for its flights could only source about 700, 000 litres, sometimes less and this impacted on its flights for an airline that operates about 115 flights a day.

Also Dana Air delayed flights on Friday because of inadequate supply of aviation fuel, though it did not cancel any of its flights, according to a source from the airline.

There are fears however that airlines may cut back the amount of fuel needed for each aircraft to operate fully, which includes the fuel to a destination and return and extra fuel, which is referred to as endurance fuel, which is needed in case of emergency or delays due to weather, VIP movement and others.

But spokesman of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Sam Adurogboye said that attempt to cut back the volume of fuel would be akin to committing suicide.

“Let me tell you categorically that the issue of fuel is a no go area because that will be akin to committing suicide. No airline or pilot will allow it to happen; rather, what airlines do when there is no enough fuel is to cut down operations; they reduce their schedule.

“This cannot happen because the aircraft will come down, so unless the pilots agree to commit suicide; that is when they will allow such to happen. The present fuel scarcity is not peculiar to aviation; it is a general problem,” Adurogboye said.

Health / Today Is World Malaria Day - End Malaria For Good. by Adesege(m): 12:27am On Apr 25, 2016
On April 25th people across the globe take part in a wide range of activities to mark World Malaria Day. This year's theme is End malaria for good.

According to information available on World Malaria Day website, there were 214 million cases, and 438 000 deaths from Malaria in 2015. 3.2 billion (almost half of the world population) stood at risk of contacting malaria. 97 countries had on-going malaria transmission.

The global malaria mortality rate was reduced by 60% in 2000 - 2015, and an estimated 6.2 million lives were saved as a result of a scale-up of malaria interventions.

35% of malaria deaths occur in just two countries: Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Between 2000 and 2015, the malaria mortality rate fell by 60% globally and the number of malaria cases fell by 37% globally.

As a result, it is estimated that there has been a cumulative 1.2 billion fewer malaria cases and 6.2 million fewer malaria deaths.

In 2014, the global total of international and domestic funding for malaria was US$ 2.5 billion – less than half of what is needed.

It is estimated that annual investments will increase to US$ 6.4 billion by 2020, then US$ 7.7 billion by 2025, and finally $US 8.7 billion by 2030 – in order to achieve a 90% malaria reduction.

well, am pretty sure if others had thot this way there would be no instagram, snapchat( mind you these are also social media platforms that somewhat rivals FB. the world has billions of active internet users, are you telling me all these handful of social media platform is all that there is? we are in a generation of endless possibilities , people are everywhere thinking of what to do to make a difference. tell me whats the big difference between fb,twitter, instagram, bbm, snappchat, etc they all connect people the same way using different methods, its that difference i need you guys to brainstorm on. am sure people like you would av told zukerberg if u had the chance that "why create thefaceboo.com when there was hi5"....what did zukerberg do ? he added spice , my friend he made a difference.....thats what i need up here in this post....it doesn't have to be the same wheel my friend we can take out the iron wheel and put in alloy or chrome "u feel me"we live in a world of recycling from fashion to energy to movies to music....nothing is really new dese day everyone recycles.....lets be creative guys thats the only way to survive this age were in

I'm not gonna dispute your message but you should answer the question, why re-invent the wheel

Tell me, what feature do you wanna add to a social media site that facebook, instagram, twitter, etc don't have?

Firstly, you should read people's mind before building an app.

Most internet users find it difficult registering on sites esp if their privacy is not guaranteed. On facebook, you can control your privacy as you want.

Same thing for other sites.

For you to build something sophisticated that will awe users, it will take you years and it may not be only you on the team. And then, social media would have evolve and you will be battling to meet up with the trend.

There are tons of social media sites and they are all unique in their way but why not strive to be unique by building something more ground breaking?

You said I would have discouraged Mark, well, thefacebook's mission then was different from whatever social networking site that may have existed then.

Mark was only trying to connect students in his school but OP want to connect the world.

Why not leave that to Mark

You should also do some survey and market analysis should you insist.

Hello,

Gdevit is yet to upload it much announced update since my last login. While i understand it's a new platform, I think some basic functionalities should be put in place first before working on the more advanced features.

Notifications on post replies, post edit, email update and longer login sessions should be worked on first.

It's annoying when your session ends while writing a post then you submit. You know that feeling you'd get after losing an epistle.

I hope the much announced updates will be uploaded as soon as possible.

Kind regards.

Do banks pay in N100 notes? undecided

If only you had spotted the fake note within the bank premises, it would have been easier to get a replacement. I doubt if they'll believe you if you take it there now.

The OP can as well take the note to any bank for replacement.

Some banks accept that. Esp. Zenith Bank.

You give them notes like this, they give you a better one.
Programming / Re: Need Dope Ideas To Create A Social Network by Adesege(m): 10:51pm On Apr 20, 2016
Firstly, why re-invent the wheel?

Why create something that already exist?

Facebook has all the features any social media site would have and as far as I'm concerned, it has no rival. Instagram, twitter, etc are unique in their own way.

Whatever social media site you want to build will either be a replica of what already exist or has one or two things the existing system has.

Hence, why re-invent the wheel?

You should think of building something else rather than waste your time, money and resources in building what may not eventually fly.

Why don't you give the price at a discounted rate instead?

Like a carton goes for NGN5,000 from the company. You can give the retailer for NGN4,500. From there, they can calculate their profit.

This is what most companies in that field do.

It will also save you money from paying of salaries, among others.

Often times, it maybe cos you haven't signed into your store's account. Have you checked and confirmed you were logged in before downloading

Also, you should check your network strength before downloading.

for(i=0; i<Players_Name.length; i++)
would you please explain why you didn't use var after for(?

Hello, you will notice that at the tail end of your var declaration, there is an I before the semi-colon. That's where I declared it.

You can also declare it in the for loop.

Either way is good but since you have a variable declaration first, it will be best to declare it along side.

Hope you understand the logic now.
