This happens all over the world and in ALL countries,there are a lot of stay-at-home moms.

Then also consider that women are getting married later in life these days so the race against the biological clock begins immediately after they are married until they get the num of kids they want.

You have to constantly explain and re-explain yourself
Give ample notices,excuses and answer a million whys
It must be very tiring
I can't imagine a husband always explaining what a particular food is called,the ingredients,translate not only his local language but pidgin English too.
It's hard enough to marry from another tribe where the spouse doesn't understand the language but at least the Nigerian experience and expectation is very similar.
If I go village or anywhere in Naija with my oga and the generator is broken down,I will happily use lamps at night,happily draw water from a "drum" with bucket,bathe out of the bucket and happily pour a bucket of water into the toilet to flush.
But these our men have to bend over backwards to cater to the comfort of these their foreign wives.
God forbid the generator breaks down.
He may start apologizing and may be forced to fan the woman all night while she complains of how hot the place is
If the gas cylinder is empty suddenly, how will she cook with a kerosene stove or firewood sef if need be?

The misconception we Nigerians have of 'western women' is that they have never roughed it beforee.Not everyone born in England is of royal lineage and so lived a life of being waited on hand and foot.

I'm born and bred in Nigeria and if I have to rough it in your village,I no dey follow you go.

It's not too late to be her friend.Give her your shoulder and be there to hold her hand.
Imagine if it was you who took a decision in your best interest and your friend condemns you for it,how will you feel?

Well,I suppose you can't marry out of your tribe either.Marriages work because the two people involved decide to make it work and not because they are of the same tribe or cultural background.Don't do this to yourself or you might not get married at all.What if you get to marry aguy from same cultural background but doesn't hold his own culture to high esteem or even bother with it at all?Will you leave the marriage?And you may not get to know the guy is like that b'cos as a 'cultural' Nigerian woman,your husband will be chosen for you.

I was born to an idol worshipper and at 8 yrs old accepted Christ into my life.It's been so worth it,since then.Even if there's no Heaven or Hell,I'll still choose to follow Christ.

I just got a headache

Picture this;If you two get married,you'll be stuck with his mother for a veeeery long time and she may or may not want your son to be a part of her son's life and it's not in you son's best interest.
It also sounds as if he lives with his mom;not a good sign.

Been 2geda for 11yrs,married for eightyrs

We thought we had at least 3 more weeks,we took a stroll to buy suya(I had cravings for spicy food),on our way back,my water broke and hubby started laughing because he thought I was joking and I told him it wasn;t a joke but I had no contractions so I just cleaned up,put on a pad and waited till morning.The next day,Got to the antenatal clinic and they told me to "pick number".When I looked,the last number was 132.
I remember that my hubby's aunt worked at the hospital so we went to her and she marched us straight to the labour ward.This was on a Tuesday.I was admitted and examined,no contractions,Wednesday came and went so it was decided on Thursday morning that I had to have him by c-section.
To summarize the whole story,I had my baby boy thru c-section on the 23rd of May 2002 and it was well worth it.

Both my  older kids(6 & have been bathing thmselves since either of them was 5 but my daughter who's 6 in august,I bathe in the mornings.I, too,do not have any help but I try my best.

The friends of mine that decided to love Jesus too was as a result of my kind of lifestyle.I have friends who are not christians.Jesus dined with 419 and thieves and prostitutes and didn't discrimininate against them.I don't know if you know the story of the adultress,who was going to be stoned?She was later one of the Marys who went to Jesus' graveside the day He resurrected.
God gave us all freewill,I can only tell someone about Jesus,I don't compel or scare(the old hell and damnation way) anyone to Christ,it's easy for anyone to recognise love.
Jesus didn't come for the righteous(Luke 5:32),He loves all.
I don't push pple away because they ain't Christians.

The same majority watch foreign movies.Just because some pple no fit,dem dey hate.

Those two guys you met were not christians.Just because some pple gather together and follow some laid out practices doesn't mean they are christians.Go is love,He gave his own Son to prove His love for us.He also told everyone who would follow Him to do same:He was our Shepherd when H e came and He left with an instruction for us to continue where He left off.
The bible says in Isaiah 64:6 that our righteousness is as filthy rags before Him.He never asks you to be good first,He wants you to come as you are.There is a hymn that says "Just as I am,without one plea"
Without one plea i.e without being worthy to be called righteous.
I hear you,I hate religion but I love Jesus.If heaven was never promised,I'd still love Him 'cos He loves me "Just as I am".
