Do you know you can solve the multiplication of 99 and any 2-digits number by just subtracting 1 from the given 2-digits number and subtracting the 2-digits number from 100?...as shown below;

Example;

99 * 56= ?

Solution;

subtract 1 from the 2-digits number; "the answer you get, gives the first two digits of the overall answer" ;

56 - 1 = 55

then subtract the given 2-digits number from 100; " the answer you get here, gives the second 2-digits of the overall answer" ;

100 - 56 = 44

therefore the overall answer's "5544"!

99 * 56 = 5544
