pompey4:I applied for it too last year, though i didn't get the scholarship due to high competition but I eventually got considered for the admission which also was equally competitive and took GRACE of God (Imagine having a phone call interview for about 1hr via viber/Skype to secure admission). What I noticed is that some of the courses on DAAD scholarship have very limited spaces. It's a 50-50 thing but i believe if God says it's yours no Jupiter is gonna stop you. So lunch your net into the deep, pray and have faith. I hope this helps. Alles gute |
@Obiwann & @Hollaytan, big CONGRATS to you guys. Hollaytan take it easy with swimming without floater o, i hope you understand meanwhile i need to know more about that contract stuff as we'll be in same city.Alles gute |
@Nevilbot, lolzz especially at 'garri, garri and garri' what a comprehensive response, well done. Also, you've hit my concern and private queries on this over 30 insurance of a thing. Danke Schon bruder. One other question i will like to ask is would you rather advice one learn the language here (at least to B1 level) or better get there and learn it through the intensive class (as provided by some courses before start of program)? Stay blessed |
Congrats fellow Flensburger... start packing ur 'kaya' oo ![]() |
hollaytan:Mein bruder, you need to make haste with whatever you need do. Don't wait for the school to reply, try to call their international office to find out the status of you deferral request. Then if possible u can tell the person that made d deposit into db acct to follow up. Sent you a PM Alles gute |
Obiwannn:Easy bro, too many questions at a time #179472 was transferred for 800€ being deposit for Jan/Feb accommodation (balance would be returned to me when i get there). like i said earlier 4k was charged for telex, #897.36 was charged for VAT & 44.87naira for COT or so. The transaction was initiated on Tuesday but got delayed as i got an email from d bank on Wed. requesting i submit budgets from school due to CBN directive. I gave them d link to their website to extract d info only to get a response on Thursday morning that i should scan i send. I did it immediately and in the evening i got my account debited as well as d telex. It's not DB pls but the school account. I hope this is explicitly done. Cheers |
@Obiwannn, you're absolutely correct as the transaction I did yesterday was at the rate of 224.34 at stanbic bank. Though it was smooth i they sent the telex to me immediately, i think they are a bit fair. Telex charge was 4000 plus other small charges like COT etc |
Williamso:Heading to flensburg for M.Eng in Energy&Env'tal Mgt. It's nice we connect as i haven't seen many people going to flensburg. |
Hello house, Is there anyone going to or have someone in Schleswig-Holstein here, Kiel or Flensburg? I'll like to link up with such pls. @Jejet and co, nice one there. We are glad to hear from you guys as per what to expect with respect to job opportunities. Please what is it like for engineers in the area of renewable energy? i learnt they're in high demand but can you advice based on your experience what to expect and prepare for? also, talking about IT knowledge is AUTOCAD and or PDMS good enough to put an engineer at an advantage? Please shed more light on this. Danke. Meanwhile, Eke40seven we are eagerly waiting for your testimony. I hail everybody here! |
bosakelvin:Hi, you can only apply for the account opening Mon-Wed between 8-11am. However, you should be therefore 8am if you dont want to see the red eye of my friend a.k.a. consula 1. From iyana, blow LAGBUS to Oshodi b/stop. Cross over to board another going to Lekki/Ajah and stop at check point and cross the road to the embassy gate. Or alight at Bonny camp and trek back to the gate. Ensure you leave home as early as possible. Alles gute |
Bro, print the soft copy and go with it. Make necessary copies as indicated on the checklist Cheers |
iyke20024:I will advice you repeat what you said during the interview with respect to these question, but now in a more detail or explicit way. Like you have it in question 1. 'SPECIFIC' you will need to probably highlight how you intend to go about the funding e.g. deposit d reqd amount for a year, if you're working let them know you've got savings to do that. If not let them know your family will transfer subsequent needs to you after your first. For the second question, let them know it's necessary for quick integration into the system. No crime in that. Last one, i think the question still borders on why you wanna do d program, so elaborate it this time around. Dig deeper into what you intend to gain from d program as well as how you it will help your country (if you mentioned coming back in interview). Google current trend in your area of study to back it up. I think you shouldn't have a 'P' with that. Meanwhile it's good to be back here. 'Oracle Eke' and others well done. Alles gute, preparing for my interview! |
takeastep:For Q1, you will only be able to withdraw certain amount of money per month from ur block account, i think about 600euros. So you'll need to structure ur repayment plan for the borrowed money as well as ur living expenses. For Q2 & Q3, once the sponsor is not a German resident with required amount of monthly income, no other person can stand as ur sponsor. However, if u've got the money (borrowed, gift or personal) just open a blocked account and drop it there... you're good to go and nobody will ask u how u got d money. For Q4..... others with genuine info to help out. Alles gute! |
esdajo:Congrats the Law.... I think you can check with Mutual, it's kinda cheap and less stressful as reported. alles gute! |
gadafitruth:One of the best comments so far.... Nice one and keep it up bro! |

Eke40seven: There are different visa requirements for different countries and some times, those general information do not apply here in Nigeria. I will advise you forget all those, instead, Google German embassy in Nigeria for details. That's is the more reason why you should stick to this thread and study it like you are preparing for your final year exam.Hey bro, can I give you a title? If yes, then i'm dashing you "General Manager, Customer care and services, Nairaland German Visa Forum."
