Pls can you share with me what you applied for, the sch, what ur motivation letter is like, ur employment status b4 applying, IELTS/TOEFL score etc.... i'm really sorry to bore you with my Qs, bringing back unpleasant memory. I need to learn from you bro. Do you actually want to study in Germany? I think it's tuition free for M.Sc/PHD progs (many of them though) and you can apply without scholarship. Otherwise, maybe you want to consider other scholarship options.

Congrats! to beat traffic, move as early as possible to get to Oshodi in the morning. take LAGBUS going Lekki-Ajah and alight @ Bonny-Camp (or d b/stop b4) and walk to the embassy arena. with LAGBUS you should get over some of the traffic jams.

yeah i've been there and av my doc. certified/authenticated. waiting for interview later in d yr or early next yr. also i didn't see anything written concerning d condition to return & it's not stated on daad website too. i should be taking study leave from work when i'm about 2go by God's grace.

Nimakor: I think the problem of GPA conversion and equivalency has been profusely adressed. Since you are still on page 101, I say your verdit is not so currect.

DAAD scholarship has many red tapes.
As Beebee rightly said, the language of the courses is German, although I think some of the courses are english taught. Other hinderances include:
1. Limited number/specialty of programs.
2. Employment status/experience; usually should align with your MSc pursuit.
3. Sign to return after studies. etcetera.

do u mean my verdict is not current or correct pls? want to know better if u've got contrary info. yeah, i agree wt u about ur points 1-3 and dat is wat it is for every scholarship. I am a professional by d grace of God which is also in-line wt d course and so i'm hopeful to get it (if it's God's will). But do they really compel scholarship holder to return after studies? kindly give me ur reference cos i've searched and couldn't see such clause. however, no big deal coming back if it's required as i'll be able to make my fatherland better.

beebee5000: Daad scholarships has been in existence but u need to be proficient in german to have a chance. I know of 2 students from ife on Daad scholarships studying Germanistik msc.

It's not all prog dat req. german lang., just like mine although there will be some weeks lang training b4 d prog. pls can u link me wt those Ife guys on d scholarship or are they on this forum?

Hello all, it's nice to be here! i've been following d thread from 0 and now i'm just on 110, so i've to jump and make my contributions while still checking through to update myself.

Firstly, i noticed that d question of CGPA equivalent (for masters students anyways) has not been well dealt with. from my research about it, German GPA scale is from 1-4 with 1 being d best. some admission requirement will put 2.5 as min. cut-off, so how is urs equivalent to the German?

then simple formula is 3*(A-B)/(A-1)+1
A=d max obtainable GP in ur sch.(e.g 5.0)
B=d CGPA u finished with. (e.g 3.1)............. if u insert d figures given as e.g above then dat dude GPA in Germany will be 2.425 which is higher than d cut off of 2.5 (d smaller d result of ur computation d better ur result as per equivalent) and so d person stand a chance of getting admission. I hope Godson, Topeajis and co. can should confirm ds pls.

Then my question as i've not seen anyone talked about DAAD scholarship, is there anyone in d house dat applied for d 2015 one and why is it that many people don't look in dat line? I currently av my application though for it.

I hope i'll have like minded here.

Hi all,
I got my doc. from vsf 2day and its denial on financial basis only. After checking my documents i found out that the scholarship letter which i sent to them via regular post is MISSING, not delivered as at the processing time.
My plan: search for the letter both from post office and CDHC office and the RE-LOAD MY GUN and fire back!
My advice: never send supporting document by post, go there yourself.
My feeling: quite sad (for dat post error), but stronger and ready to push on. No retreat no surrender...!

I just called VAC to inquire about my application and i was told it has been processed by d CDHC and sent to them and that i should visit them 2moro. Then i tracked my online status which has changed to
''Your application has been assessed by Canada High Commission/Consulate General of Canada and is being returned to the centre where you applied''
So till 2moro b4 d percel content is unvieled... It is well.

@Siga...May the healing hand of God continue to be on ur family in Jesus name, amen. Never mind d lost pregnancy, cos in 10months time we shall rejoice wt u for TRIPLET!! Cheers.

What amount should you have in your account if you get a full scholarship and want to apply for visa? Do you also need a sponsor if you have a full scholarship? I mean if ur scholarship covers all ur expensis during your stay.

@Saintp, congrats 4d full scholarship if u have it. I also av full scholarship covering ALL my expenses, but i include a sponsor (uncle) though i dont know if its needed. To be on safe side(cos we really dont know wat ds VOs ar up to) i'll advice u add one

UoM usually takes a month plus to issue d letter. Like in my case i completed my appl 4 winter around late August n got my letter Oct. 10. I then deferred it 2 Summer and got a new letter on 13th of Nov. Cheers.

I haven't satisfy ddat I have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in canada, 2 maintain myself and any family members who are accompanying me during my proposed period of study.

And i haven't satisfied them I will leave canada at d end of my studies Considering my purpose of visit.

My sponsor was my brother had 4million in his account and 700k in my own account. I guess my statement of purpose wasn't convincing enuff.

Am already ready 2 fire back this september.

Hummm... Today makes it 3months that my application got submitted to CDHC for study permit, status yet unchanged, earnestly waiting 4 medicals. God i believe your will alone will come to past.

Like someone advised, you can check the requirements of the school, some school considers you last two sessions' result........what are ur CGPA in ur penultimate and final year? if u can give d answer, then i can tell if u meet up with UoM admission requirement or not....cheers.

@all who have gotten their trv, I say a whopping big congrats.It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

@all who got a denial, I say it is not how far/fast but how well. God knows the circuit of your life.

@all nursing the Canada dream but are incapacitated by one challenge or the other. Sponsor, Finance, Admission etc, I say, keep your dreams alive and keep working at it.The future belongs only to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

@all awaiting a feedback. Admission, Medicals, Supervisor, TRV etc, I say hope and pray, God answers prayers. Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.

@all at the verge of application submission, I say be diligent. Learn from the errors of other, be optimist yet be real. Seek wise counsel, ask questions. Put yourself in the position of a saddist VO and do the 3 way test.
1. Will this applicant want to return after studies.
2. Will this applicant not resort to working in Canada in-order to pull through school and
3. Are there any credibility holes.


@all offering help and solution on this forum, I say keep up the good work. The God who sees what your are doing in secret, will reward you openly.

Finally and like you know, Canada is a great place but it is a dustbin compared to what heaven would be. How much preparatory effort are you putting into your final destination.

Good one here Bumdish, inspiring and thought provoking......... you know looking back and forth different reactions in the course of events of success and failures people have experienced, I wonder how would you feel if you're denied the VISA to heaven (which is far better than Canada in Glory and grace) on the last day? You may get denied of Canada visa 2day but you can still tried again and make it later on, but you've got just once chance either to be in heaven or hell (God forbid). Now is the accepted time, now is the day of Salvation.......
