I am at admission stage. Reading from part one, now in part 4 and following part 9. It's an amazing journey. Saw a comment on ghost readers. Am not one cos I wish I could answer questions on visa and admission, but am yet to secure one. So, I know I don't have authority to answer most questions. Till I have evidence (admission) to proof ( I will very soon in Jesus name).
Remember me................. Investigating the past, following the present, the future is bright. God bless. |

What are my chances, with GRE score of v-148 / q-148, CGPA 4.5/5 and five years volunteering experience for schools like penstate(geography), Illinois Urbana(geography) and Havard school of design? Has anyone with a lesser profile enter to my potential university? How can I pay for application with my GTB MasterCard? Most school asking for credit card The GRE changing my mind to Canada but funding is another issue too. Help me with advises and comment

To those that have achieve what am about to try, you are my mentors, i hail!. To my fellow about to start, the lord is our strength. To those that already started, God will make it happen. God be with us all 1) Course : Geography or Planning. Most of the schools emphasize contacting a faculty member before submitting application and i find it difficult to see those with focus on Africa. Please advise me 2) Cost of application : Most school ask for hard copy transcript before admission decision and that restrict multiple applications for me. Advise me! 3) Funding is a critical deciding factor for me. what are the chances of First class student getting one and where?
I need advises and replies to my questions. Direct reply here and private email are welcomed. Thank you

sonofananimal1: GOD QUESTION..
ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, YOU HAVE TO USE THE TWO. IF ONE KNOW HOW TO DRIBBLE AND SCORE, YOU PUT HIM AT THE FRONT, WHILE IF ANOTHER ONE ONLY KNOW HOW TO PASS BUT NOT SCORING, YOU PUT HIM AT THE MIDDLE. SO IS A WIN WIN. NOT JUST DUMP ONE Nice answer but no mark because you have "skillfully" derail from the instruction provided in the question that ask for a choice between an accurate passer with goal scoring ability but no dribbling skill and a dribbler with no pass accuracy and scoring ability. Thank you |

What are the skills you applied towards emphasizing the points needed for an excellent mark?. Does your skills derail or focus on following the provided instructions?. Those are the questions you should ask yourself before applying "Skills" because useless is a footballer that always dribble but has no accurate pass and or ability to score goal. A first class student/graduate of a field is a highly focused individual in that field. Someone, who amidst distractions faced a particular task and did it diligently. When you need someone to solve a problem with high diligency, time restriction and less distractions, hire a first class graduate from the field that the problem exist. Thank you

pumpin26: My interview happened on Monday 6.30am, but I have been busy reason for the delayed transcript. This forum thread has been fantastic and does 50% of the work needed for people to get their visa. The selfless service of gurus and members cannot be ignored. Sometimes their hard or straight talks often cause commotion , but its better they tell us the reality and what is possible than people chasing shadows . bbdd (he packaged and inspired me) and slimmy are often attacked for their straight talks, but these two guys were instrumental to getting my visa. Also, the tendency of people looking for the easiest way out of everything and not doing the necessary diligent home work are the major reasons for many denials. If advice given is followed and tailored to one’s application, then I see no reason why people can’t pick up their visas easily. The job of the VO is to look for reasons to deny people( VOs are doing their jobs), but our job is to not give the VO the chance, and block every loophole possible in our applications and during interviews by preparing for all possible questions. I believe the forum has helped immensely. The visa journey is not smooth, but achievable .

I sent my transcripts to five schools and WES using NIPOST and they all got delivered. It was pretty cheap, just 350 naira per package and they all got their various destinations within a month. Please, thought all transcripts are to be sent directly from school. How come you send yours yourself? |

Team16: You are welcome. Na wa for Canadian schools n supervisor issues, God will help us. Please, what's your research interest and course, if it's chem/mat eng. And your research interest is oil sands related maybe you should try Dr. Zenghe Xu. He has a topic already, so maybe you try adjusting your research interest to his. I've not applied for admission yet, I want to secure a supervisor first b4 I'll do anything. I wasted alot of money in apps fee for USA schools last year, so am being cautious. Also, try sending to as many professors as possible, you don't know who might like your write up. I call it write up cos it's not your interest just that you want to please them with it, get a supervisor and get in. A kind of spraying your seeds in the farm, some may germinate and some may die but your prayer is for 1 to survive. Try it n it might work. My little contribution o. It can be ignored. Hello, like to enlighten me on how you wasted money on app to US ?cos i dey contemplate between Canada, US and Australia. |

Thanks am aware of the GRE and TOEFL requirement in US and am preparing to write around October. That way I believe I will have more options. However, the final will be one that will offer me good funding opportunity. Whether Canada or US. That's why am seeking to meet those who have record success in this new task of mine. kfrosh: You have lots of researching to do. First thing is for you to decide which way to go either the Canadian way or the US way. Most US schools require you to write GRE and TOEFL(or any test of English) while most Canadian schools don't . Its best to focus on one country so as to be able to concentrate on sending your applications to @least 3 schools, hopefully maybe you will be able to get funding with admission into @least one of them.
Let's take it from there. |
