@babaof 2,wanajo,
please whats behind this japaul and equity assuance drive.seems overpriced to me.

Japaul, Japual! Seems the price is being driven up cause of rumours of impending bonus in the FY results due maybe in Feb! Though 3Q results was slightly above projections showing a good FY in the offing, the price it is at now is just alarming. However, it should still have some pickings for PO grabbers (ncluding yours truly grin) as the monies from the PO are just been deployed. Good medium/long term investment!

It's confirmed-FBN will be paying 5% interest.Less than what dangote paid but at least it means we are getting things done properly ,albeit slowly.

Gave a Sell order for my Lasaco and my broker advised me to hold on to it for now.I use Futureview.I was adamant on selling and asked him to place a sell tomorrow.(I trust nairalanders more).He said I should still hold on  and he is ready to refund the balance if it goes below my sell price.Hmmmm, wetin I go do now,it appears something is brewing with Lasaco.

Lasaco, Lasaco, Lasacooooo! Seems something is brewing really, maybe a planned PO or Lagos State is about to announce a new policy that will drive price sky high. Anyway, I dey kampe! Might just be about to hit bulls eye on this one; it can't surely get worse than it as been in the past few months!

@Invisible,

Hurray, welcome the birth of another school of thought!

Issue is the NSE is so dynamic (unpredictable), so folks are advised to keep to their winning game plan whilst also looking out for other winners in a different school of thought.

@All,

A belated Happy New Year to everyone. It's surely our year of Fulfilment; all the dreams you have for your portfolio will be fulfilled this year, did l hear an Amen?

FatherOF2:

I shall say special prayers for all by 12midnight of Dec 31st.
The stock market requires prayer so God will always make the right stock picks for us all.Only he can see the 4th quarter result.
And let us remember to give something this December out of all the profits for 07' so 08' will be bountifull.
God showers blessings on every single one of us each day.If you close and tighten your fist because you're holding on to that small money,you won't receieve more STOCK MONEY.
Its only when you open that fist to give that the shower of blessing will land on your palm literally.

Very well said Baba Two, the giver is always on top! grin

@All

Pls dont tell me people have gone on a holiday on this forum! Kai, peeps have made more than enough and are cooling off enjoying their loot @ Xmas!

Well if there's anyone left who can give a candid advise on AIICo PO, it'll be highly appreciated. wink

I know AIICo will be feeling that this PO was ill-timed cos they were on TS when the other Ins coys took off on a bulls run, but good for folks like me to cash in and enjoy triple digit %age gain. Forecasts earnings look a bit ambitious but what with the recap money and their new foray into Oil & Gas, Does AIICo look too good to be true?

@Aktopgun,

At last, the  young fella is here. May I also join in receiving him with a standing ovation!

Well, like a good stock I'm sure he'll issue you a bonus of 2 for 1 by the next time (ie twins for you next). grin

Help say amen all you Aktopgun lovers! grin

Congrats Mrs Aktopgun!

Thanks a lot man. I know they'll change my address to theirs soon let them just give me some more time!

@All,

Anyone with answer to the Unity Bank bonus question please? Helloooo, is anybody there,, echooooo!
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by adeyinkat: 12:55pm On Dec 06, 2007
@ All Gurus,

Please does anyone have information about the closure date for the bonus declared by Unity Bank last FY? I bought some on the 8th of August & I really want to know if I'm qualified before I sell.

Also, is it my broker's duty to help get any bonus accuring to my account with them? What if I buy a PO through a broker, where is the cert. posted to & can my broker help facilitate my getting the certs? (at least let them do something to earn the commission)

Somebody help answer these pressing questions plssssss! Thanks a lot!

Phew, took me all of today to catch up with the pace of this thread

@Windywendy,

So glad to have you back, how's the cute little girl? Eagerly awaiting your opinion on Bagco!

@Easimoni,

Abeg dis sabbatical don do o! We need your info on Ins stocks now more than ever!

@All,

I think the NSE & stakeholders can't overlook this thread for long; have you noticed that stocks pick or drop just by being mentioned on this thread. Proud to be a part (even if not as dominant as the gurus) this history making thread kiss

@All,

Quite a lively discourse over the past 24hours. Would like peeps to know that there are several silent members of this thread who value the education and information! So we all should be accomodating for the common goal is capital appreciation (whether hit & run, tech. analysis or long term). Let everyone decide on who to follow!

@Wanajo
Welcome back, hope to do same by this time next year i.e tske my family on a deserved holiday from dividend payouts cool but in the meanwhile, I missed your incisive posts.

Pls what happens if after you give your broker a stop order and they still went ahead to buy the stocks on your CSCS acct (at a much higher price o)?

@Pumping77,
Can u pls give a link to this much talked bout spreadsheet? I've tried to check your previous posts to see if l can get it, to no avail!

@wanaj0

My oga, i beg i need you help. please reply to this please.

I bought Cursader N4.01 (124,000units) this month (at your advise wanaj0) is was my first ever stock and only stock till date. To my greastest suprise the price is N4.97 yesterday. from all what i have been reading it main get to N5.01 by friday.

The plan was to wait for about 8 to 12months, (or if you advise otherwise). But with is BULL thing i don't know what to do. if i sell on friday i may just make i 1st N100k in stock within one month grin grin grin.

But, infact i don't know , just talk to me.

(@ REAL GURUs I mean the likes of wanaj0,easimoni, yodiyoku, pumping please try and talk more on this tread, we know who to take serious, don't mind this new people who are trying to mess this tread up.)

@ all
if i sell and want the money, how do i collect it. (sorry if this question is to dump)

Well this is the dilemma faced by most investors but personally I think you should stick with your initial game plan. That's why it's important to determine your objectives long before this kind of situation throws itself up! Anyways, no harm in changing tactics midway but you really have to understand the game so that you dont end up minimizing your profit. Glad to know that your 1st investment's come through, may you never experience otherwise grin

Hope I qualify to reply your post o! cool

@ All,

Please what's happening to Unity Bank? Anything in the horizon to explain why it's been on a trot past few days? It opened at 7.21 and never went lower to close at 7.57(+0.36 i.e 5% gain). Is there a merger or FDI in the offing?

Also is Ecobank on TS? It's been stagnant for like 2-3days. Is it cos of the proposed merger? Kai this is one of the stocks that l rushed to buy(on the advice of guess who?? My stockbroker) only for it not to meet that price again. Thank God I met you guys in this forum, else I would have had my whole body (not just the fingers) burnt by now wink
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by adeyinkat: 12:03pm On Nov 16, 2007
Phew at last! I just got to the end of the thread & I'm sure before I finish typing this, more posts would have appeared.

Please what price is the appropriate upper limit to enter Crusader & UNIC? I'm still trying to get a hang of the calculations of fair stock prices using forward PEs!

I think this Ins coys bulls run is a false start, they will soon be beared back to starting point. The real race commences 1st quarter 2008 when all the consolidation monies would, hopefully, have started making impact.

For now look well well before  you leap o grin

@ Wanajo, easimoni,
Why is everybody shouting about bailing out of WEMA before TS? Methinks the bull run will continue after the TS is lifted or am I missing something here? Anyway, I'll buy more WEMA PO (if they come to the market) & maximise profits with the one I have at hand after TS is lifted. l'm really in for the longterm!

please u seem to have alot of idea about our capital market, i think the problem with ipo is their delay in their release of certificates, what about FIDELITY BANK? please advise me properly. i really want to make u a friend, i,m a small investor trying to grow real big, i need people like u to be my friends and to share it with during harvest times as well. thanks for your understanding. wink

See my life o! I'm not yet the top Guru, I think some other regular posters will do as your mentor at this moment. Wanajo, Pumping77, Roughcut, Easimoni, Please attach yourself to these guys fast!

However, I think good IPOs/POs are the best investments for a greenhorn entering the market (personal opinion) and bar the prospectus, WEMA looks to be one of them. Also check FCMB, BankPHB (coming soon to a market near you) etc.

So good hunting my brother. wink

osazeet:

N14 Naira is a fair deal to me. I will sell 90% at that price.

I think also that if WEMA releases results in line with the Q-1 results, hitting N18 after lifting TS is almost a done deal.

please do u think is good to buy WEMA at present? when do u think is their ipo? please enlighten me about them undecided

Please just go through the last 5 pages of this topic and your question will be completely answered. Anyways, methinks you should wait for the PO which might be early in the new year (just a hunch o!) @ 9-10 naira!

However, if you can bear the risk of staking out for a post PO bullish run (certainly not for me), then I wish you Godspeed. For me, 13naira is a high price to enter without seeing the interim results o!

@ All

Hi everyone. Please am I the only one that has seen that Japaul have doubled their half year PAT in the 9 months report? Boy, I think I have hit a goldmine here, now the FY forecast in the PO prospectus suddenly seems like bread!

Even if the certs take a while to get to us PO grabbers, the coy has shown that it can out perform forecasts. You guys are turning me to a guru in this matter o! cool And to think I'm also smiling broadly as l watch WEMA too.

Just wait for me, I'll be a multi-millionaire (even in Soludo naira) at this rate. grin

Gurus, you too much!

@all Gurus

l've been studying this thread & a few others over the past few months and finally my peeps, l think l'm ready to contribute intelligently cool

Kudos to all my Gurus & they know themselves grin

Pls can someone give us the figs for Diamond bank: Outstanding shares, half/full year results et all, we need to project for their PO which is rumoured to take place 1st Qtr 2008!

Also methink NGC is not very liquid (imagine only 7K shares exchangingg hands today) so only a bonus issue can drive up the price, so NGC perform o!

Sebi l try?!

When people scream, cry & even faint at a Michael Jackson musical concert, It's ok

When people campaign vigourously & blindly for a politician to win an election, It's ok

When people rush & trample on each other for the autographs of movie stars, It's ok

When people hero worship soccer stars by buying their jersies, posters & other souvenirs, It's ok

But when people honour their men of God, look & dress like them, speak highly of them, That's hero worship & idolatry!

Haba Nigeria! Don't you guys know that what we need in Nigeria now are role models for the youth in our society! People who can speak to the soul of our nation & galvanise us to action in the right direction. But alas, as soon as one rises up, we try to pull him/her down. We have to change that attitude. We have to look up to people who came out of nowhere & became big because of what they believe in

No, I'm not talking about the embezzler or the ones manipulating the corruption in the society to get big. Rather, l'm talking about the ones who by a dint of hardwork & self belief have grown big. Our country is replete with them but we try to shut them up and most times they end up keeping their ideas to themselves. Not good enough if we want things to improve!

For example, a ban on miracle broadcast on TV because some spurious broadcast have been observed. Very Nigerian indeed! Question is who is losing on the long run? Pastor Chris? Christ Embassy? Christians? Or Nigeria? Well FYI, the Healing School of Christ Embassy went on to debut in another country and guess what? Thousands from all parts of the world go to that country to attend the sessions! Though the Healing School is free in all ramifications but you can imagine the tourist foreign exchange in-flow and good publicity the program is giving that country. Ask yourself why USA has not hounded preachers like Pastor Benny Hinn, Billy Graham, Ceflo Dollar, KC Price, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer etc. So sad for Nigeria!

Jesus Himself said that the glory God had given Him, He has given to US! Suprised? John 17vs19-23, go check it out for yourself. So, if that glory is upon your life, should you deny it? A thousand times NO! Humility is not a lack of self-worth but it's acknowledging that all you are is by the grace of God
Listen to me, God has blessed Pastor Chris and he's blessing the world with that which God has deposited in him. You either partake of or shun that blessing, it's a free world!

Finally, I'll love to say that Pastor Chris is my Pastor and I'd rather be associated with him than any world President or movie star or soccer star or any man for that matter. I follow him because l can see he's following Christ wholeheartedly. Some people's hero might be David Beckham or Kanu or Bill Gates or Ghandi or Mandela, well mine is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and I'm not apologetic about it!. Thanks for reading through.
