@ololufemi Don't confuse a bull market with brains. Fatherof2 has some interesting (though not absolute) strategies which i respect him for, yodiyokun was jus urging him to use a bit of caution for people new to investing @ all anybody watching japaul? |

easimoni: Well well they increased PAT for Q3 by 248% from N85M in 06 to N298M in 07 so that gives us a forward PE of 21 and EPS of 29K(the PO in 06 was 75% subscribed) and i noticed the share price did a max 5% today so i think something is definitely on the boil for this stock Just watch the space! Has anybody noticed that RedStar express has appreciated 47% since it got listed about 2 weeks ago? Dont have the financials to do the quants. The funny thing is only one person is responsible for shifting about 20K of the stock today and it did the max 5% today as well. Anybody with the results please holla |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by FatherOF2: 3:39pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
You know what dey call " SPREADSHEET MONEY". You can be worth N11m today and next monday N7m.That is spreadsheet money. Its nothing till you make a sale. Its in your pocket.Remember you didn't really do anything to earn that money.Someone paid you for that share. The money did not come from heaven. That person may be loosing because he bought the share off you at a high price. But that's not your business.Your bankers will be counting real money and not " SPREADSHEET MONEY". @ all who bought access at N17.60 or N18.45, from my estimate,if access reaches N25 by wednesday,i'm bailing out by Thursday RESULT OR NO RESULT.What is important,is that the objective and target i set for myself is achieved. With the current rate of rising,if it gets to N25 or more and the result is not yet out,the market would already have anticipated the result and built it into the price of N25-N26.So when the results actually come, there'll be little movement.Lets see if another 4.97% can be added tomorrow. Happy investing. |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by RoughCut(m): 3:49pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
The Lord bless you real good bro. I have cobbled together some very interesting numbers for RedStar the forward PE is 11.78 and forward EPS=50k on an annualized basis. That is fantastic and if it does another 5% tomorrow i'm charging in before it goes on TS(doesnt matter if its only one person that's responsible for what i'm witnessing) and coupled with the results just released its onew-way traffic for the share price I understand the stock is illiquid though which may explain the mystery of the one-man show phenomenon |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by RoughCut(m): 4:17pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
wanaj0: That business with CSL just put me off right awaythe MD's papa owns CSL so no surprises there and i think the projection for '08 PAT is optimistic the half-year PAT for '08 is N5.34B so where are they going to get the N5B to make up the N15B projected for full-year PAT? The fact of the matter is that FCMB is still a ~ N10B PAT bank so like the Dragons in Dragons Denanybody watching Dragons' Den? would say I'M OUT! |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by pumping777(m): 4:23pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
upward: I think FCMB could have done better. Agreed that PAT has grown by 139% YOY but this has already been reflected in the current price. Though the market may react positively, I don't consider this result beyond expectation. In fact the projected adjusted PE still remains the same around 28 which is on the high end (I have factotored in possible 25% oversubscription). Ekocorp's result is okay. Forward PE is now 17 which I think is currently the best in the sector at least for the companies I have data on which are all the main ones. Red Star express is the bomb. Projected PE is 11.7 with earnings yield of almost 9%. I'm going out for this one. The PO will have a high risk of dilution because bonus shares may be declared and new shares may not qualify. I hope not though. |
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by pumping777(m): 4:28pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
RoughCut: Just my thought about FCMB. That the MDs papa owns CSL is no surprise. He started FCMB (then First City Merchant Bank) and I believe still owns the bank. |
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by ololufemi: 4:35pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
@ Damouche7, Temmie10, @ololufemi Guys why all this frenzy, hope u are not about to do the same like me (I mean confuse a bull market with brains) Cause FCMB just released their half year results and showed above 120% increase. I think 139% Its time to ride the FCMB Bull for now and I just bought some today 20,000. I think we have to admit that Fatherof2 has done well and he deserves to be commended. Japaul is also on a bull ride now. Happy riding to everyone and for Access(ers) Happy Christmas but dont forget to bail out at N26. Cheers |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by RoughCut(m): 4:41pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
pumping777:which is i'm charging in tomorrow if it does another 5%. Hopefully i wont precipitate a bull run on this one. You are quick on the mark arrived at a forward PE of 11.78 and EPS of 50K I'm sure they would try and ride the wave a bit before going on TS |
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by FatherOF2: 4:48pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
upward: Oga upward me no be master. No one is a master. The masters are still the real stockbrokers with 20years experience. I have to disappoint you on the e-mail thing. @some Don't be sentimental about any stock (PAPA of MD get this or that). The stock does not know you're buying it. You'll be surprised how people react once they hear higher profits. Take advantage of that reaction and take your quick 25-30%. At least FCMB did beta than GT (Growth wise) and GT is still rising. If they declared 200% increase in profits won't you call EFCC to investigate.Just praise their 139% increase and not " FCMB could have done better". |
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 5:04pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
Fair values for UBA and Oceanic post announcement of Fullyear results are N67 and N36 @fatherof2 roughly when will the announcements will be made? i aminvolved in a similar scenario but i am just helping my friend manage his money. i want a very active portfolio, buying and getting rid of stocks in a 3 month window frame. i know things dont always go as predicted so, combining 3 low risk with 1 high risk stock should keep the portfolio above water in worst case scenarios. what stocks fit into the sure average gain (2 - 3) and the gambled high gain (1 - 2). wanajo, easimoni, pumping and d gurus. ur input will be appreciated 3 MONTHS WINDOW FRAME. 6 MAX |

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by RoughCut(m): 5:06pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
pumping777: In actual fact bank PHB is a better option than FCMB and the figures are more plausible than that of FCMB so will wait towards the end of TS on PHB the half-year will be DEC and the half-year results due around JAN/FEB next year next year so hopefully if expectations are met that should give the share price a leg up when the stock comes off TS |
