Hello guys. I am going to stop giving infos for a while because i think i know what is actually happening. I will let it rest a while and come back.
It’s a strategy i know well about. So this is my view on what is happening.
There is an attempt to discredit the main person giving infos here. In doing so, they claim to be working with immigration and know the immigration law. They contradict everything i say and claim the other way. They simply want to create so much confusion here that you will not be willing to apply for visas to Brazil again because you are not sure what is true and what is not.
So i will stay silent for a while and come back when things calm down.
Peace Hello, you don't have to silent because you don't know people gaining from the informations you are sharing here, for the sake of God don't stop. Just continue. We have many ghost reader in this thread and Nairaland has been like this for years, someone will criticize you no matter what. This is just a mere misunderstanding between you people, because from my understanding Brazil things are complicated, someone can get his/her PR withing a month and you see another person struggling to get his own for years, I am talking with experience because I live here. I will not deny you talking about getting your passport within a year rather than ask how you go about it because it might be due to your location. Here in Sao Paulo, they will tell you in Lapa to stay for 2-5yrs before they collect passport application from you and in other states it's a different things...for example when I submitted my PR, Sao Paulo rejected it and I traveled to Parana to do it, they received it and processed for 2 weeks and email me to come for my PR, it's still a shock to many in Sao Paulo till date because I was new here when I have my PR. So when someone tells me about a law in Brazil, I listen to the person and hear his story out because it's crazy here. Zizi please easy on your response, adjo has been here for a while dishing information to people, if you want to correct him/her do it in a polite way. And let me add this, to apply for passport in Brazil depends on the state policia federal you re located. In Sao Paulo if it's marriage you have to wait for 2-5yrs (from what they told me in Lapa back in 2017) and in State of Parana it's just a year either marriage or child birth (updated last year) Processing of PR in SP do take time because of the traffic, we have other countries applying too not just Nigeria and if your application is stuck, you might not receive your PR for years because amendment is hard for them but in other states it's easier even in SP interior From the law to get a passport you must past the Celpe-bras exam (Portuguese language text like TOEFL) or you have a certificate of Portuguese class ( not all policia federal accept this) And about people that has lived here for years without having PR or Passport, I need to clear this most Nigerians don't mind about papers or don't know how to go about it due to the freedom we have here, no one will disturb you and Brazil hardly deport people. So most don't even care they just keep working or doing their things, I have a friend here that has gave birth since 2017 and have not even care to apply for PR, but his name is registered as the father of the baby. Lastly because of the language barrier many people don't even know how to go about applying for PR, some has qualified for PR and still using protocol to live here. So the laws are crazy here, so you guys should take a chill pill My advice for you guys planning to come here is just to prepare for anything because it's tough here and anything can happen. Odabo. |

RealistSuper: P.S. I created this moniker solely to alert VFS Global, Get attention of anyone within the Belgian circle or anyone who can help and also to WARN ANYONE WHO MAY BE TEMPTED TO APPLY FOR A BELGIAN VISA
Thinking of applying for a Belgium Visa? Forget it. You will be burned!
This is the warning I wished I read or knew of before making the disastrous mistake of applying for a Belgium visa on the 5/7/2019. The day started as a normal Friday, Early Morning by 8:30am, I was already at the VFS Global center in Lekki where the Belgium and some other schengen Visa applications are made. As I couldn't get an appointment for France, I opted to apply for Belgium since they are both schengen countries making sure that all required documents as on their website was submitted.
A summary of my travel history, I am not a stranger to international travels in fact I have traveled and lived in the United Kingdom for over 8 years and have long running travel visa with the U.K., I have traveled to the USA and then some African countries on vacations. So by every standard, getting a Belgium visa should at least not be an issue. Well this I thought when I applied however it is shocking that 1 month and 2 weeks after my application for a visa to Belgium, I have not received even a decision and I have been calling VFS Global who I think based on my opinion and findings are complacent in this massive fraud by the Belgian embassy.
I have been calling all the Belgian embassy numbers available to me on the internet ad even on one occasion I called Belgium home office as I read that they decide visa applications to tell them to just release my passports that I don't want to travel again only to be told that I have to get a reference number from their embassy in Nigeria as the reference number gave to me by VFS Global is fake. From my research, Belgium is a very racist country and I believe that they just collect the visa fees which by the way is the most expensive amongst all other schengen countries and then dump your passport to gather dust.
Please anyone who has any contact to the Belgian embassy or any information on how to get my passports back should please advise me. I don't want to travel to Belgium again. Please just deny me the visa and release my passports. I missed my travel to the United Kingdom on Saturday the 17/8/2019 simply because I made an error of even thinking about applying for a Belgian visa.
Dear compatriots, please don't get caught in this collaborative mess between Belgian embassy and VFS Global who told me when I called them over the status of my passports that "Belgium is known for attending to visa applications whenever they feel like" WHAT? Why tell me this after paying over N48,000 in fees. Why his wickedness from people who are meant to guide us during visa applications. Belgium please release my passports, I don't want your visa again. I am about to miss my conference in he UK.
@lalastica please approve for front page to warn others. Hmm! This is serious |

I was at the embassy in Lagos, last week Thursday and I was surprised to see many applicants... I swear to God I was like OMG! lol because Brazil embassy is always dry like a church on Monday morning.
The good news is that the new Brazilian interim consular to Nigeria is cool with us and will treat your application within 10-12 days if all your documents are intact and original.
If you make it to Brazil and you are there for just your baby delivery, I will advice you to choose PARANA for your documents, it is safe and fast there now. |

LegitBachelor: Hello guys.
Please is it possible to go to Barbados through Brazil without the need for any visa at all? This was a route I found out:
Outbound LOS - JNB - GRU (South African Airways) GRU - PTY - POS - BGI (Copa + Caribbean Airlines)
Return BGI - POS - PTY - GRU (Caribbean Airlines + Copa) GRU - JNB - LOS (South African Airways)
I noticed S. Africa Airways and Copa America are both members of Star Alliance. Is it possible that they can codeshare? Since this flight involves two tickets with Brazil being in between the two tickets, will a Brazil Transit Visa be needed or can it waived if one stays within the airport?
Abbreviations LOS - Lagos, Nigeria. JNB - Johanessburg, South Africa. GRU - Sao Paulo, Brazil. PTY - Tocumen, Panama. POS - Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago. BGI - Bridgetown, Barbados. You don't need a transit visa |

LegitBachelor: I'm glad we've clarified the grey areas. I actually learned something big from you for which I'm much grateful. I learned it's theoretically possible to go to Barbados through Brazil. Thus this means all one needs when going to Barbados is a Nigerian Passport with a Brazil Visa. One of the routes I'm suggesting is as follows:
Outbound LOS - JNB - GRU (South African Airways) GRU - PTY - POS - BGI (Copa + Caribbean Airlines)
Return BGI - POS - PTY - GRU (Caribbean Airlines + Copa) GRU - JNB - LOS (South African Airways)
I don't think S. Africa Airways codeshares with the other airlines but I think a Brazil Visa takes care of this.
Abbreviations LOS - Lagos, Nigeria. JNB - Johanessburg, South Africa. GRU - Sao Paulo, Brazil. PTY - Tocumen, Panama. POS - Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago. BGI - Bridgetown, Barbados.
The total cost is around $2400 which is on the high side, but okay considering the stress involved and the near impossibility in getting US Visa or EU Visa.
Caveat Please note that this info is just an hypothesis. I don't physically know of anyone who successfully went to Barbados using the route I proposed with a Brazil Visa only. But I think this info is plausible. You don't need a Brazil Tourist/Transit Visa for this trip as long as you connect in the same terminal which is Terminal 3 of gru airport. |

My Update about all this work permit argument going on here...
There is a lawyer that is doing a work permit to foreigners working in Brasil now
You have to been working and your working permit signed on or before 2017
A valid protocol (asylum seeker doc)
Criminal report from your home country and other Brasil docs like CPF and proof of residence (comprovante de endereco)
He will help you do the process and you will be granted a work permit of 28 months renewable like he said
The process do take up to 7 - 9 months
But work permit from Nigeria, I never see that one before and if it is possible...my brother you go try gan to get that one. |

Thank you Estou esperando... aakaay: Please has anyone that is obviously pregnant applied for visa very recently and gotten it? or maybe you know someone and can explain their journey?
Can you state how it went and the process from application, to submission, to if you declared tourist or going to birth, if you were asked to do medical tests or come for interview?

MrBrownJay1: Anyone who obtain a RNE through child birth is not a tourist any longer.....that's not an EXTENSION of a tourist visa. when that child is born, they have to regulate their visa situation from tourist to legal guardian of a Brazilian citizen, thus they apply for the residency (through that child) and their status changes from tourist to temporary resident. Unless they apply for that temporary residency, and later get a resident permit (aka RNE), they can't work in brazil or apply for Brazil's passport..
I repeat...you cannot get a RNE/Brazilian passport and still be on a tourist visa. Impossible. It is not possible to get RNE with a tourist visa, I never said that Bro, But it is not compulsory you seek asylum before you change your status, that's it, I don't like to drag things. I have witness a lot, you can marry with your tourist visa and get the RNE same with giving birth without seeking asylum, that is what I am talking about. |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by adigunomomama(m): 11:37pm On Jul 23, 2019 |
MrBrownJay1: Nah bro, you are wrong...you cannot get a RNE on a tourist visa or while being illegal.... You can only get it if you are living legally in brasil under a valid visa (tourist visa not included). You can't get a carteira de trabalho if you ain't got a RNE etc..
As for the fine, yes you are right, before the max you could pay was about 870 reais, even if you overstayed your visa for 10 years. Now the amount is just madness.. Same as investor visa, where before you could just invest €50K max in a local venture and get the visa, now it's minimum €150K.
where you are RIGHT is that YOU will never be deported if you are just illegally staying in Brasil, SO LONG AS YOU DONT COMMIT ANY CRIME.
If you pay the fine and don't sort your resident status than you are still illegally staying in Brasil... No RNE for you Bro I know many that came for child birth and did not seek asylum, they get RNE with tourist visa and one has even get her passport. This not what they say, it's what I know and see. She just has the fine on her CPF R$870 |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by adigunomomama(m): 10:52pm On Jul 23, 2019 |
MrBrownJay1: Bro let me CORRECT you.....
I think you have to let people know that you are talking about people who claim to be REFUGEES
If you are a tourist in Brazil, then that's what you are. If you go to the policia federal to extend your visa then you have to show proof of financial situation (aka how you will live in Brazil as a tourist) in order to extend your TOURIST VISA. for 3 months. You will never get a 1yr tourist visa extension, EVER.
You will NEVER get a working visa just by walking in the policia federal, you need a contract from a reputable company that would sponsor your working visa....and sadly, with just a tourist visa, you cannot work in Brazil.
You cannot get a carteira de trabalho with a tourist visa, the above information is for refugees.... Pls be clear on that. Now if you actually have a normal working visa then you will get what is called CEDULA DE IDENTIDADE DE ESTRANGEIRO or Commonly called a RNE # with which you can open an account in ANY bank in Brazil ..... Banco do Brasil etc
Only with this RNE # can you get a carteira de trabalho and pay taxes in Brasil... Unless you are a refugee. Yes you are right but not everyone in Brasil seek asylum and they get the RNE even after they over stay just they they have to pay a fine of 700-800 reais which I am not sure of the certain amount before the government change it to 10,000 reais now. Sorry I did not mention that you have to seek asylum before getting those documents. The thing is Brasil is not that tough on immigrants like other countries when it's comes to being illegal or you over stay. |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by adigunomomama(m): 4:34am On Jul 22, 2019 |
Brasil is free to everyone, their slogan is "UMA PAIS PRA TUDO" which means A Country for All.
It is not illegal to have child birth in Brazil even if you are stateless and it is total free of charge, you don't even need to get a private hospital, health is free in Brazil or else you don't want to stand the queue of the government hospitals and get yourself a private hospital.
And there is nothing like illegal immigrants in Brazil, if you come in with a short stay visa, you can walk to any policia federal and extend your stay to 1 year, they will give you a document called protocol you will be renewing it every year free of charge with CPF and a Cateira de trabalho (working permit card) and others documents you need to live in their country. You can open a bank (CAIXA) with this documents and even use it to receive money from money agencies like (money gram, western union and others)
The country has a lot of benefits but you need to get there first, learn thei language (Portuguese) Ad onb
Don't do drugs, don't steal, don't fight... Keep a good name and make sure your CPF is clean after some years you can claim naturalization with a good lawyer. There are even NGO that will help you out if you don't have money, then from there you can move to any where you like with their Passport. |

Adjo10: Children under the age of 10 of Brazilian Permanent Residents
There was once a post here about your exiting children status once you give birth in Brazil. I challenged the poster but I was completely wrong and would like to apologize.
It is true and the law has not changed. When you give birth in Brazil, all your existing children under the age of 10 get provisional Brazilian citizenship. They have to confirm at the age of 18 that they still want to be Brazilians. They can however have a Brazilian passport and travel just like any Brazilian. They only difference is that they just confirm at the age of 18 if they still want to be Brazilian or not.
I am very sorry for the initial confusion. Please forgive me.
Cheers Apology accepted but let me correct you on the issue you mentioned about minor being 18 before getting naturalize, No... This is it, any minor under 7 - 10 depending in State their family is living will get a Brazilian passport after 1 year of getting RNE (permanent resident) but in their passport it will be stated that they are born in Lagos/Nigeria or any other countries they are from but after 18 years they will be fully claim as a brasileiro/a I was the one that mentioned about the minor getting RNE and you replied me that the law has changed so I just let slide because many of my friends has benefits from this so I don't need to argue with you. Brasil is a very big country and let me tell you this, the law they use in each state is different even though it's the same federal policia, the laws in Lapa SP is different from the one in Sao Jose do Campo SP while it's different from the one in Maringa PR as well that is Brazil for you. Imagine in the same state and the requirements for marriage is different, one area will require a police report from alagbon and another area will not ask for that, just come with your valid protocol and passport and you will get married, that's it. It's a lovely country for documents but I don't advice people to migrate here to hustle. |
