Travel › Nigerian Embassy Germany Says For Passport Change Of Data, Go To Abuja! WHAT? by adora4u1(op): 2:32pm On Nov 24, 2014 |
I reside in Germany and I got married a couple of years back. I decided to wait until my passport expires before getting a new one in my husband's name. So I went to the Embassy's homepage and was shocked to read "All passport applicants desiring a change of data are hereby required to direct all such applications to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Abuja Nigeria. The Embassy does not undertake any change of data on E-Passports"! WHAT?!!!!!!
I thought embassies were supposed to cater for the consular needs of their nationals in a foreign land! If I have to go to Abuja for a change in data, what's the essence of an embassy then?
Please, whoever is in charge should look into this matter! |

Christianity Etc › Re: Recording Of TB Joshua Talking To Journalists (Audio) by adora4u1: 8:32pm On Sep 20, 2014 |
"Brown envelope" is very common in Nigeria journalism! This can be interpreted as "bribe" or "goodwill" depending on the story, personality involved and organisation involved. Most organisations give "brown envelope" to their Press Corps at the end of every year. That is interpreted as a "thank you" for being committed and dedicated.
I've listened to audio of T.B Joshua and the journalists and I can say the following:
1. The money given was intended from the beginning to make the journalists write if not a favourable report (given the situatiion under discussion) but at least not a damaging one of the collapsed building and of T.B. Joshua.
2. T.B. Joshua cleverly did not come outright to say "don't write about the dead". He asked why the journalists couldn't write about the survivors.
3. The journalists were trying to force T.B. Joshua to make a statement they could use as a headline so as not to focus on the lives lost.
Let's call a spade a spade! That money was given to influence the reports of the journalists! That's BRIBE to me! That was why
1. It was given BEFORE the questions were to be asked and
2. The journalists did not ask him questions about the collapsed building like "Did he have a permit for it, did he use quality materials, was the building well supervised, etc?"
Shame on our so called "Men of God"! |

Health › Nigerian Doctor In UK Attacked Female Patient Who Disagreed With Diagnosis by adora4u1(op): 9:32am On Dec 26, 2013 |
A foreign doctor attacked a female patient in his surgery when she disagreed with his diagnosis.
Dr Abiodun Bale, 42, grabbed Sheena Cunningham as she tried to leave his consultation room in tears after they argued over treatment for a facial condition.
The doctor from Nigeria denied assault when he appeared in court but was found guilty after a two-day trial.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge but will face a disciplinary hearing at work and could lose his job.
Bale, who qualified as a doctor at the University of Lagos in 1995, worked as a gynaecologist in his home country before coming to Britain and registering with the General Medical Council in 2006.
He was given a licence to practise here in November 2009 and was on a placement, for speciality GP training, at Hyndburn Medical Practice in Accrington, Lancashire, when the assault happened on March 26.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said Bale had asked Mrs Cunningham to come in to the practice after a telephone consultation about a problem with her face, during which she had become distressed.
When she arrived, the doctor told Mrs Cunningham she might need to call for an ambulance if her condition deteriorated later when the surgery was closed.
Mr Harrison told Burnley Magistrates’ Court: ‘She didn’t want to do this and at this point he raised his voice.’
Mrs Cunningham was frightened, got up to leave and said she wanted a second opinion, the court was told. ‘[Bale] became agitated and, as she stepped out, he grabbed her hand to prevent her closing the door,’ Mr Harrison said.
‘He then grabbed her by the forearm with both hands and tried to drag her back into the room. She screamed and shouted at him to get off her arm. This attracted the attention of another doctor and two cleaners. The other doctor told Bale to go back into his office and then escorted Mrs Cunningham out of the surgery.’
The court was told that a week earlier the GP, who lives in Manchester, ‘flipped’ at another patient, shouting at her: ‘For God’s sake, I have other people to see besides you.’ ‘She got up to leave and he tried to grab her hand. She felt frightened and vulnerable,’ said Mr Harrison.
Bale claimed the incident with Mrs Cunningham was a misunderstanding, saying: ‘I’m a doctor, not a thug.’
But Mr Harrison said: ‘There was no mistake or misunderstanding. She was crying so loudly that two ladies outside heard her crying.’
After the allegations, the GMC placed conditions on how Bale worked, including allowing him to carry out consultations only if another qualified medical practitioner was present.
The Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust, which employs Bale, said he would face disciplinary proceedings.
‘The trust will now consider the consequences for his ongoing employment and training,’ a spokesman said. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2529320/Foreign-doctor-attacked-female-patient-disagreed-diagnosis-GP-given-six-month-conditional-discharge.html[img]

Celebrities › Mariah Carey Gets Slammed For Performing In Nigeria! by adora4u1(op): 7:36am On Dec 16, 2013 |
According to radaronline.com, Mariah Carey Performs For Money Men In Nigeria, World’s Center Of Bank Fraud & Human Trafficking! Mariah Carey proudly posted a pic of herself in a slinky yellow dress and wrote, “Backstage in Nigeria” on Saturday.
But maybe the songbird should have done some homework before agreeing to the gig?
Her show was at Access Bank’s Christmas Party which was also a farewell bash for the bank’s managing director.
And while Access Bank is a reputable financial institution, should Carey have known a few basics about the African nation before taking the paycheck?
Ironically — given that she was performing for bankers — it seems Carey wasn’t aware Nigeria is well-known as the center of the world’s email financial crimes! Nigeria is even part of the name — as in “Nigerian 411 Scams.”
Nigeria is also, according to the United Nations, the hub of human trafficking as “a source, destination and transit country.
AND, just for good measure, there are mass killings going on in two Nigerian states right now, and according to Human Rights Watch, the violence is being ignored by federal authorities.
“Systemic corruption in the Nigeria Police Force” is the problem, a HRW spokesperson told CNN.
Carey isn’t the first performer who has taken a paycheck for appearing in countries known for terror, death and fraud.
In 2011, Beyoncé sang for Moammar Gadhafi’s sons and Jennifer Lopez performed in Turkmenistan. http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2013/12/mariah-carey-performs-nigeria-bank/[img]

A person very close to me is HIV positive. He takes his medication regularly and looks super healthy. When I'm with him I totally forget he's HIV positive! I love him and his HIV status is not going to diminish that! It's devastating when you find out that you're HIV positive, but with prompt medication you can live a good life!
And F--K those low-lives (especially family members) who discriminate against HIV positive persons! |
