It beats my imagination how Lagos is so blessed with an abundance of water, and then we choose not to explore that means of transport.

Imagine the immediate reduction in daily traffic if we had an effective and attractive waterways system in the state; the private sector should be engaged in this process, not just the government.

In summary, diversification of the state's transport system is key; by this I mean embrace the opportunities of rail and water transport. The focus on road transport as a solution has proven for decades to be futile, especially in a state like Lagos with its ever increasing population.
