So at 14 years of age you haven't perfected the act of crossing a road? Back then in primary school around 1978, I lived at isheri while my school was at liasu road. Anybody familiar with Lagos will have to realise you have to cross that deadly express at isheri before getting to council bus stop. Me and my squad so much perfected it we could cross that road blind folded. During weekends , we retire to the middle of that express to sell groceries. Nothing happened to us, we never died. Its a pity and I feel so sad this generation of kids are weak hearted, over pampered and feeble not to even know how to cross a road properly at the ripe age of 14.

i Think You're The One Misleading People Here. Because I Was Told By Someone Who Is Already Qualified That Once You Write Your Final Exams And Pass, What You Need Is To Pay For Induction And You'll Be Given Your Certificate Except Those Who Need The Practice License That Should Have The Required Working Experience. You May Wish To Throw More Light On This For I'm Yet To Qualify But My Earlier Comment Is Based On What I Was Told.

You were told. I was not told. I am ICAN Chartered and I have passed through the process. The steps are in ICAN site. If you don't submit your letter of reference for at least 3 years working as an accountant for Accounting graduate and 48 months for non-accounting graduate nobody would induct you. I know many people forge working experience but that would be at the risk of any ICAN member that signed such forged documents.

For your information there is difference between your ICAN CERTIFICATE and ICAN LICENCE TO PRACTICE as accounting/audit firm that gives you ICAN seal.

I hope this clears your ignorance.

HND Accounting from accredited Polytechnics - Skill level to write total of nine(9) papers to qualify
HND Accounting from non accredited Polytechnics - Skill level to write total of eleven (11) papers to qualify.

Total number of years to qualify his in your hands but minimum of 2 diets (1 Year)

You don't need to write any exam if you are ICAN Chartered. Since you Just completed your ICAN, go for your induction and after one year of you induction apply direct for CITN membership, That's all.

For the Op, since you have been inducted into ICAN for at least a year you can go directly for induction. ICAN and CITN settled this after their long battle.

And can anyone(working class) vouch for CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT?.. I am thinking of going for that.

In some profession like Accounting been a chartered accountant gives you level 10 even higher than MBA/Msc with level 9 as entry level.

If you have the money and time you can do both along.

If not, go for you Msc, finish it and then start your ICAN. The reason is that since you don't have an accounting background you would start from foundation level in ICAN and you may not be so fast to Charter within reasonable time. But with your MSc program, you're sure of your graduation year

You can get it from konga.com. Please note these books are a sure bet for success in FR and CR in ICAN. If you have these books forget about attending lectures.

For PM, use Adeniji, for SFM use Akinsulere.

It's well. For you to have passed PM you must be good. PM stagnates most students at skill level. Don't give up.

For tax. I will advice you not to rely on any text book because tax laws and regulations changes. That's why you hardly see student using a specific book.

My suggestion, Use ICAN text books for tax in ATS level, ICAN pathfinder, TAX books for skill.

I'll also advice you use "Teach yourself IFRS" by Prince and also "Teach yourself Group Account" by Prince for FINANCIAL REPORTING.
