let me explain to u.in every other profession lyk law,engineering & medecine,d pass mark is 40 even ANAN,bt ICAN,ACCA & other accounting bodie,d pass mark is 50.if there is mass failure in any of ican subjects dat affect overral perfomances dat is wen the upgrading comes in.d purpose wy ican ask u to fill ur tuition centre is to b sure dat u have formal training cos d only critisism against ican,acca & others by ANAN is dat their candidates ar nt trained in d classroom.
ican find it dificult to upgrade any candidate dat prove dat ge/she can pass witout attending lecture.if such candidate score 49.5,if there is general upgrading such candidate wouldn't be

I disagree with you Sir. ICAN does not do favouritism in her marking process. You either pass or fail. Anybody can write any tuition centre irrespective of whether they attended or not in the box provided. ANAN is run just like our higher institutions where a lecturer gives marks to students anyhow. In ICAN you don't know who marks your papers. This error of comment should not be allowed to tanish ICAN's image.

So my advise for him I said, instead of you to study Pharmacy, that it's better for him to proceed to school of nursing.

Now Nairalanders, I want to know if actually I have advised him right or wrong by reasons of your own contributions.

If you want to be a slave serving doctors forever with little pay then go for Nursing if not choose pharmacy.

Now am scared cos Its not my first attempt.

From Management Accounting to PM it has always been the course that frustrate many out of ICAN. Once you pass it be sure you are on our way to ACA.

I wrote three papers last diet:atax,aaa & sfm.it was only atax I culd describe as cheap bt d rest including cs & cr ,I don't think so.I am telling u dat sfm & cs ar always dificult to pass.ican are so generous dat let people go.compare d exam remark in d pathfinder wit d numba of candidate dat pass dese papers(sfm & cs)

there ar rules bt no single set of rules.there are salient advantages in attending lectures.I am nt saying anyone nt atending lecture wil nt pass bt those atending wuld have trump over non-attendees.I had neva atended any informal classes in my life,even my university days I can count d numba of classes I atended witout any carry over yet it afected me one way or d other.
it is ideal taking piecemeal aproach wen there is little tym.gugluck

How can u advice someone to write all the papers, you re making ICAN rich and making urself worst off.
Imagine u register 5 papers for 61,700 skills level and u base in Lagos, lecture fee for 5 papers is 50,000 total package 111,700 note no transport added yet.
Let's say u fail all the papers menh it is very discouraging and u may quit it and say is scam. Let's say u passed 2 papers, u will start all over to pay exams fee and lecture fees again.

Bro my advice for you as a fresher, if u re working write 1 paper as a test and save ur money.

Old candidates who have been failing are writing just one or two papers each diet to become chattered becos they understand the exams, they even forecast it. They even predict exam questions. I was shocked �.

I discussed with candidates who failed to hear from them, I also discussed with those who became chattered to hear from them as well

I see no difference in what they said but one keeps going despite failing then became chattered while the other quits becos the money involved to continue was too much.

The one that became chattered I calculated when he/she registered and the number of failures and the amount and time spent to become chattered they concluded that one or two papers is the best to write unless u re extremely brilliant and have a well lasting memory when u re taught I.e ur only job is to read and write exam nothing else while ur finances is taking care of by ur guardian.

The key features of ICAN are
1- study
2- money very powerful resource in writing the exam
3- after failure then u become discouraged
4- after success at sitting then u become encouraged
5- after failure then u still believe and continue

Good luck as we await the results.

There's no formula to apply in the journey to success. I have advised him to pick two papers for each diet and I also advised him to write all if he can. I only attended lectures once while preparing for my ICAN exams and I failed the paper that made me to attend lectures. I stopped attending lectures and read alone and I passed my ICAN. Note, I also went to work and came back late in the night.

There's no rule that one must write all or that one must take it one paper per diet. The capacity of the student would determine.

Someone has given the answer to that question. But it's not a rule that you must follow that pattern. I always advise people to write all even if you fail, your next attempt would just be like a review. It helped me alot. During job interviews you would not be taken unawares because you have knowledge of the basic courses in Accounting.

You'll start from Skill levels. If your school is accredited you'll write 4 papers.

I once conducted interview for Bsc holders and I wondered how some of them got their certificates.

I am an Accountant by profession. I have HND and about to add ACA to it. Since I graduated, jobs have been chasing me. I turned many job interviews. All my assistants have been Bsc graduates. I don't think the Bsc graduates in Accounting learn more Accounting principles and IFRS than their HND counterparts. It is on record that HND holders in Accounting in Nigeria have more Chartered members both in ICAN and ACCA. BSc is never inferior to HND and vice versa.

My first experience writing ICAN. Wrote five courses under skills. All the papers were ok, just that the one I thought will a walk over for me, happen to be the most difficult. Probably cos I didn't study well. Business finance. Imagine me submitting one hour before time. Not because I finished, but so I don't know what to write again. All the things I have on my head didn't come out.

Still hoping for the best.

No Sir. Mathematics is compulsory to sit for any level of ICAN exams

You will still pay for exemption.

We want it so.

Next time when registering for ICAN exams, never enter make such mistake.

I would advice you to just write the exams in the venue you have already chosen. The process of applying for a change of venue is not that easy.

2. can i pay for only the exam without the subscription fee...cos am low on cash....on my profile and financial status, i saw 10k for 2016 and 2017 subscription fee....which i dont have now...pls house help your brother.....

1.Subscription fee is every year. For professional level is about N4,000.
2. Development fee is one-off. i.e once in a life time as a student.
3. Yes you can pay for only the exam without subscription, but you will not be entitled to textbooks.
