Wow, i served in Biu 2009. My PPA was GSSSS, Biu. I had a wonderful time there, especially with the soldiers wives as I was teaching them English for a token. I was also taking school children after school lessons though language was a barrier as most of them don't understand English. The women would cook before I come and insist I eat before leaving every time I went to the barracks.
I would buy clothes from the main market and resell in the barracks. @Op, you are very correct about banks being filled every month end.
The NCCF family house where i stayed was a stone throw to the market and we would buy meat and foodstuffs at cheap prices.
The weather in Biu is similar to Jos, very cold especially at night.

I will advise you get someone to come in and do the chores for you. Could be someone you pay, a sibling or a trusted friend to avoid unnecessary issues between you, hubby and mother in law .
Mama may not be strong enough for any work, when I had my baby, my mother in law was around but couldn't do much for me.

Saturday breakfast Millet pap and Akara both prepared by me. Feeling sleepy already after taking it.

Millet pap is nice. Try adding soya beans and sorghum next time and don't sieve after milling it. Just ensure it's milled very smooth, you will share grace after taking it.

I have been there and still there. I discovered recently that I was burning unnecessary energy over their issues so this year my mantra is to press the ignore button for them. For the ones I am tired of, I block their access to me calls, social media. While those I can still tolerate, I only think of them when they reach out to me. This is new year, I can't be wasting my time to solve family palava when my mates are making money. No way.

Easy with herbs on the poor child, OP. Some babies are like that, they take their time before adding weight, hence just ensure she eats well and her foods consists of the necessary vitamins. You can also increase her egg, milk, fruits, vegetable intake and get multivitamin appropriate for her age. My son was like that though he had low birth weight and i was always worried until recently i noticed he was adding weight.
As long as you are convinced she is eating well and no hidden health defect, let her be. All the best.
