[quote author=ExpressBooking post=122794781] Thanks for your time. Unfortunately I can't find the mail. I got a job offer from St Collumcile's Hospital in Dublin as a Healthcare assistant however something seems not right about the offer. All correspondences have been via mail, not even a phone interview. Also, all the contact numbers are unreachable. |

descarado: Pressure pot is the best thing that has happened to me. I bought 2nd hand and it is serving me well. Cooks my beans very soft in 20 mins, rice in less than 10 mins, cow leg or any other thing that requires long cooking. Even the time spent in the kitchen has reduced plus my 12.5kg gas now last me 2 months and 1 week. 14 Likes |

Op, I wish I could see you physically and share my parents' story with you. The worst thing that can happen to any woman is to be unwelcomed by the in laws. Nothing she does will ever be right or pleasing to them. My grandma hated my mum so much that she transferred the hatred to her grandchildren. She will rain curses on us, instigate my dad to beat us including my mum. This went on for years, and never stopped until my dad realised he had married 5 women and none was willing to stay with him in old age. My grandma is late now, but my parents are alive bearing the consequences of my grandma's actions. The children recently tried to reconcile our parents for peace and also companionship as both of them are now old and alone in their different locations. My dad and mum are trying to get along now but the damage has been done. The ripple effect trickled down as far as we the children, peace was not an option in our house then. It was always from one fight to another. We could be coming from school and be scared of the scenario we will meet at home. I am saying all this beacuse as a man you must take a stand for your family otherwise your mother will manipulate you until it is too late. You love her no doubt but you must be firm and stand your ground as the man of the house that you are. I wish you wisdom to navigate this delicate situation. 6 Likes |

I had 2 over ripe plantain and didn't want to trash it. 3 eggs Melted butter Pinch of cinnamon 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder 3 tablespoons of sugar 1½ cups of big seed oats 20 mins in the pre heated air fryer and here is the result. I remembered I didn't add milk when the concoction was 5 mins gone in the air fryer. It turned out yummy and very moist that I had to fight the children to save these for lunch pack for school. 24 Likes 1 Share

missimelda01: This is the advice, go to any orphanage close to you. Trust me, you will enjoy your time with the children and they will appreciate whatever you give them no matter how small. It will surprise you that something as small as a box of pizza means a lot to them. Watch movies at home, order meals if cooking will be too much a burden since it's you alone eating. |

VictorUSA: No be lie, you will wish you were not born. I remember growing up, I was mandated to wash my father's car every morning even as young girl, only for the car to be used to take my stepmom and her people to church while myself, my sister and mom trek to church. The tales are too much to mention. 1 Like |

I will never pray what I went through for my enemy. Till today, the family is not balanced even the relationship among the children has broken down, we are just trying to patch it now. Men who marry more than 1 wife don't know the implications of what they are doing now, you may seem to be in control now but the ending is never palatable. Most times, even the man will bear the brunt in his old age. The women will eventually face their Children and leave the man to his fate. 4 Likes |

A lot of changes. 1. I added a small business to my 9 to 5 job. 2. I buy in bulk and ensure I go to the cheapest market around me, ile epo. No shopping on the street. 3. I also cook beans in bulk. 4. Pressure cooker for most food except spag. Saves gas, beans is cooked in less than 20 mins while rice is less than 10 mins 5. I make pap and nourish it with ginger and cinnamon. I don't sieve my pap so no room for wastage only that it cost me additional 100 naira when blending it. All grains and blending cost me 2,000 early August and I still have over 4 litrs left for September. 6. I plan changing my line to post paid. Hubby pays 5k for calls, data and sms and it lasts for a month while I spend over 10k on data and calls. My job and business requires that I am online always. 7. No eating out except on few occasions 8. Potatoes to the rescue anytime yam moves mad 9. No wasting of food no matter how small. I pack and freeze it for future need 10. I don comot hand for titus. I do mostly shawa(I know it has bones but once you airfry it, even the bone becomes chewable), gizzard (1 pack lasts 2 weeks) and chicken for sundays. 11. Switched to measured unbranded cereals like oats, milk, cocopops, cornflakes, fruit and fibre etc. That's my side hustle anyway. I was sceptical about the unbranded at first but as I do my investigation and got a good supplier, it has been a life saver. I eventually turned it to my side hustle and I supply mostly bank staff and office people. 12. Every month end, I carefully go through my kitchen to identify what is needed and what can still be managed and draw up a list. Na me and my list dey go market, anything not covered in that list doesn't follow me back home expect it is very important. No impulsive buying. I do esusu too, compulsory saving so no room for laulau. It has helped me a lot. I pull the esusu out of my monthly income before spending a dime, whatever is left must be well managed. 9 Likes |

If you can, try making pap especially with the children on this long break I made mine with just 2000 naira today and it will last us beyond a month. Yellow corn 1 derica 300 Finger millet the red one half paint 600 Pearl millet white one half paint 600 Ginger 100 Blending 400. Total 2000 NB. I added a small cinnamon stick, ginger and cloves. I always like to nourish my pap, I also don't sieve it. I just ask the woman blending to run it in the mill continuously until it has a very smooth paste. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Family / Re: What Marriage Advice Would You Give Your Younger Self? by ADUKKY(f): 1:12pm On Jun 04, 2022 |
I clocked 11 years in matrimony 2022. Don't be carried away with the glitz and glamourof wedding, prepare for the marriage ahead. As a woman, be financially inclined. Have a source of income, do not put all the financial responsibilities on the man. Respect is key for men. Avoid discussing your issues with every tom, dick and harry. Never marry a man or woman who is not accountable to anyone. Be prepared and know that there will be challenges in marriage but you can overcome if others have overcome. Be prayerful. Seek a man or woman whom you share similar ideologies. Even on minutest of issues, you will be surprised how inconsequential issues have become big issues in marriages. Be prepared to compromise because you are different people raised in different backgrounds. Communication is key. Talk, talk and talk about everything and anything. Never assume. 136 Likes 14 Shares |

Your best best is a pressure pot. Yesterday I cooked beans in 20 mins and it was as soft as ewa agoyin. You don't have to buy brand new, 13k will get you a good pressure pot of about 6 ltrs from a thrift store. |
Family / Re: Can A Family Woman Ever Rest In This Life? by ADUKKY(f): 9:02am On Jun 03, 2022 |
Op, I feel your pain cos I work 8 to 5, run a small biz and stil must take care of homefront. Discuss with your husband on aspects he can help you with, if your children are upto 6 or above, begin to engage them in house chores. Also, invest in gadgets that will make life easier for you. Anyone who knows me knows that I spend a lot on home gadgets as long as it will reduce my work hours. Do bulk buying if you can afford to, it reduces time spent on market runs. You don't have to sweep everyday. Engage the children to sweep during the week while you do major cleaning by weekend. Teach your children to bath themselves while you supervise, by 8 years they can bath themselves during the week while you bath them during weekend. Get school wears, socks and inner wears that can last the children for a week, that way you are not under pressure to wash during the week. Any day you feel tired, let the house know and they can make do with bread or cereals. Learn to listen to your body and take a break when necessary. It will get better as your children grow older. 1 Like |
