The statement in Acts 5:29, was made in the context of the persecution of the early Church. The Highest authority of the Jews had forbidden the Apostles from preaching in the name of Jesus because they felt the content of the Apostles' message would be a threat to their authority.

Even today, many true Christians are facing persecution from religious authorities and hostile communities, but we have one resolve - "It is better that we obey God rather than men".

Regarding your statement comparing Nebuchadnezzar's statue with the national flag is not relatable; Nebuchadnezzar's statue was erected for the purpose of "worship" a country's flag is just a symbol of a country and pledging to it is only a show of respect for the laws of the land not as a source of worship or a substitute to God.

That's sad.

The unwavering declaration of faith by Job remains one of the most inspiring stories of faithfulness in the Bible. Job maintained his stance in God, never letting himself become carried away by the hard evidence of his suffering!

And Esther said...."If I perish, I perish"; This was her statement of faith as she braved the consequences of facing the King in an effort to save her people from the evil plans of Haman". She and her people all prayed for God's favour and indeed the power of God was made manifest that she was favoured!

What place of authority has God put you today, that you can use to redeem people that have been marked for destruction? Are you still holding back in fear or will you push forward in the trust in God to favour you!
