Again, it is shameful that some people are good talkers but when it comes to listening they are deaf.

Your Eze and the true Igbos among you are giving you a broad perspective of things.....they never said the isssues you brought up are invalid but they are empashizing the point that you cannot just focus on defense and counter response alone when you can in fact be the initiator of political discourse on national issues.

When Onlytruth was an Eze he balled himself in and narrowed his actions to defending issues, he had no clue how to instigate objectives that push the Igbo interest.....no proactive impulse, just sitting in wait to react, with help of dede to, what they call Yoruba attacks. On many occassions ive had to flag his attentions to situations he ought to speak and give Igbo opinion on. You need someone with broad view to see it all. Nairaland is not just about attack and defense.....very good national issues come up from time to time.

Example, the issue of right of way for Fulani to graze lands across Nigeria. I brought it up to Onlytruth's attention. Till date he is yet to issue a statement on it. You cannot deny that if passed in NASS your homeland will be affected by it. Yorubas have spoken ferrociously against it and even had it blocked in NASS.

I am one of those who consistently say Yoruba and Igbo have no future together, however, this does not prevent us from sharing with you what we see as a possible benefit. There are many bills that in the past sneaked their way into the constitution or into statutory law because those who knew their pitfalls failed to gin up awareness and discussion or in cases where an informant did circulate alerts, our lawmakers had no townhall backing to guide their action and vote, for or against, as the case maybe.

Your Eze cannot be everything you want him to be, meither can your Ezenwa.....but at the minimum, focus on national interest and awaremess is crucial. This one aspect of nationhood we know Igbo is weak in. Defending COAS is a good cause for you to rally around.......but again, is any of you talking about the fallout and what to expect in the next one month, two months and what this action may mean for the career of Ihejirika? NOOOO!!

You are weak proactively, preferring to wait for Yoruba to initiate the topic so you can cry and react. You need someone who thinks and plans ahead.....thats what Odumchi does. I see his works in culture and I know how since his arrival there the Igbo awareness has gained traction.

Its up to you yanmiris to either accept and support this great son of Igbo or to kill his talent and opportunitiea so you can default back to a dunce like dede as your next eze (notice the small "e" in eze).
Look at this Yoruba goat. Do you think we are like you? Do you think we have a hausa-fulani slave agenda like the afenifere? So now you see someone calling himself eze ndigbo but thinking like you and you run to his defence. If you love him so much, why not make him your onakakanfo of nairaland?

Fulanis can graze all the land they want for all I care until the agwu carry them enter my own land. Why should I work to make the cesspit called nigeria better?

My people look at what nonsense is influencing these puppets.

Odumchi take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself who is praising you and who you really are representing.

Nigeria will die soon. Igboland will actualise. And our children will say, "my papa/mama was ______ when the freedom fighters were fighting." Up to you to fill in that gap.

manny4life: Dude, I CANNOT change your mentality, if you're grossed by the fact that Odumchi and Ogugua88 are representing us, then your beef is understandable but saying that you have evidence pointing to them that they are not Igbo is plainly ridic. A lot of people who dislike Obama because he's the president, it's fine, but making the argument that Obama wasn't born here is just ridiculous and stupid. Hope you get my drift. Same applies here.
I will assume that you are a reasonable person and that your misrepresenting my stance is merely a reflect of misunderstanding.

What I am saying is this: It has never been fully ascertained that those two are igbos. It does not mean thay are not igbos. Indications show that they may actually not be igbos. But they may still be igbos. Infact, we have already had worse igbos who sold us out.

How you turned that into "...saying that you have evidence pointing to them that they are not Igbo..." plainly beats me which is why I term it as a misunderstanding for now.

PointB: My apologies, Eze. I, and most likely every other person here missed it.

@all, kindly refer to the attachment in Eze Odumchi second comment on this thread to familiarize yourself with the constitution guiding the Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland institution. I believe such knowledge will enable everyone know his right and responsibility.

Daalu nu
From the constitution:

3.1 QUALITIES OF EZE/EZE NWAYI
A prospective Eze Ndi Igbo should have the following qualities:
 understands and listens to Ndi Igbo
 enlightens Ndi Igbo
 guides, but does not dictate to, Ndi Igbo
 enables and empowers Ndi Igbo
 motivate Ndi Igbo
 inspires Ndi Igbo
 credits Ndi Igbo
 helps Ndi Igbo
 leads Ndi Igbo by example
 serves Ndi Igbo
What a great job your puppets are doing. I laugh in Swahili.
Politics › Re: The Second Eze Ndi Igbo Parliamentary Office by advocate666: 8:30pm On Feb 03, 2013
manny4life: I'm not accusing you of anything, I was asking a comment based on your observation and reservation.

I don't know of what evidence you speak of, I've seen several threads, at least on the Igbo learning thread of EzePromoe, where Ogugua88 stated where she's from. I'm sure Odumchi have stated where he's from as well. So what evidence do you speak of?

Next, how do you define the term "Igbo"? To you, who's Igbo? Do you define Igbo based on birth location, or ability to speak Igbo language or natively and culturally being a part of it? These two people have stated where they're from, so really, what's the beef?

What I think about your second paragraph is highly irrelevant (no disrespect). I strongly believe that while language is a cultural representation, how you choose to identify yourself is totally different. When I came on NL, I was scared (fear of being mocked) of speaking Igbo, I did not want to say the wrong things, but thanks to lots of people on here who made it a duty to make sure Igbos (native speakers and learners) feel free to interact without fear of reproach, I became comfortable with myself.

That I speak several languages, and choose to speak say French or Swahili, does it make me a native to that place? Therefore, while language is very important to leadership, nonetheless, the language shouldn't be the a deterrent, the important issue is whether those whom we elected are up to and acting up to par according to our "Constitution" (i.e., if we have any). Speaking Igbo language is VERY IMPORTANT for every leader, particularly for communication, but it doesn't mean you can't learn nor adapt to other languages as well. On that note as well, because you can't speak doesn't make you a sellout either, as long as the willingness is there.

Let us kill this issue because it no validity at all. If at all, I was thinking Odumchi will be proactive in certain things (not to call our leader out), but reverse is the case. I barely see him in certain arguments, let alone defending the Igbo truths about certain lies propagated on this forum (opposite of Onlytruth), nevertheless, it's very unfair for me to compare two people particularly at infancy stage. The sooner we can squash the bickering, the better everyone can move forward.
This is a real example of straw man fallacy. You are debating an example. You are deliberating shifting the argument away from the issue of dissatisfaction that igbos have with the "ezes". Like I said, they may well be igbos or not. Anybody can say anything on an open forum.

Language, like character, does not make one an indigene of any tribe but is a good indicator. Stop debating the indicator. It is just that: an indicator!
The only indicator you have that they are igbos is because they said so. Most other indicators are pointing elsewhere. You want me to ignore the other indicators and naively accept what they say? Ozoemena!

Even those that took bribes from the invading enemies just to sell their brothers out were also igbos. Traitors but igbos.

If the issue is of no validity to you, borrow a leaf from the odudua88 and stop commenting on it. Instead, tell us why embracing Nigeria is the best thing for us kidnapping, murdering, traitorous, canned fish.

manny4life: Seriously yall, that one speaks like Yoruba, how does that make them any less Igbo?

Another can't put together a sentence in Igbo, how does it overwrite leadership?

People please, let us learn to accommodate one another regardless of our opinions.
Please don't accuse me of something I didn't say.

Somebody made a categoric statement that these two are igbos. Maybe they are but all the evidence so far is pointing towards them not being igbo.

If you see a man chewing gworo and saying things like "inakwana my priend? Allah bless Jonathan", would you say he is more likely to come from the North or from South South?

That is yet to be completely ascertained.

One speaks like a Yoruba. The other cannot even streak together a sentence in igbo. I have my reservations.

Politics › Oladido Diya Would Never Have Been Made A General Under Ihejirika. by advocate666(op): 1:26pm On Feb 03, 2013
Who promoted Oladipo Diya? Was it based on merit or federal character?

He is a shinning example of what we get when merit is trampled upon because some people refuse to earn their place in this life.

Ihejirika is doing a service for Nigeria and if anything happens to him, then that will be the end of this country. I swear!

Tolexander: how will someone tell me a promotion in the nigerian army is based on merit? With what exam?
I personally do not blame Ihijerika for the ethnic interest of his people cos when an Hausaman was there they did much more than Ihijerika likewise if it were to be Yorbubas.
Talking about quota system which is meant to be balanced, why do we have the grade A and sophisticated millitary base and training in the north than south?
Every ethnic group is just utilizing its oppurtinity. Merrit my ass!
Do you think Oladipo Diya merited the title of General in the Nigerian Army?

The guy didnt do it for igbos, he only introduced 'merit' tnz and igbos happened to dominate. Y wont dey dominate when they have been made perfect by forcing dem to work hard for every position they can occupy in Nigeria , while d oda groups benefit from cheap nepotism?
It is aversion of merit that introduced more non-igbos into super eagles and what is d result now? Mediocrity.
As a note of warning, no employee in naija shd do anything by merit unless he/she want igbos to dominate the arena. Rather, use nepotism and fed xter. Idiots.
Yes. Imagine if Seun employed by merit rather than by tribe. Nairaland would be competing against the likes of facebook today.

oily Yoruba: I'm really amazed at the way certain Igbo sons bring confusion amongst Ndigbo by disrespecting the Eze.... Dochris999 and advocate666, wait for the next election for the one that brought our Eze is over. Eze Odumchi, I've read your stand regarding Biafra and how you feel it relates to Ndigbo, but I think you missed the point I was trying to make when I refered you to www.radiobiafralondon.com. I just wanted you and our people to understand the importance of the media. Right now, Ndigbo have no media and I don't think those Igbo who are anti-Biafra should shy away from that site because of the word 'Biafra'. I will also implore Ndigbo to study the current rants against the COAS, Gen. Ihejirika and note how the northern and Yoruba media are using this to instigate hatred against the Igbo nation. This was thesame thing they did in 1966. I got this info from radiobiafralondon. Do we let these murderers repeat their evil on us again in 21st century? Again, my brothers, this not just about Biafra, rather it's about having a medium through which our people can be informed of impending or imminent danger.
Ah, we must shut up and swallow it when the eze or ezenwanyi drag the igbos through the mud here?

Odumchi have never contributed anything on any thread here in the politics section that is the most important section to assert our presence as igbos on nairaland. No one is saying odumchi or ogugua go and fight. No. But, you can even see as evidently portrayed in this thread that odumchi has nothing to offer. So for example: like the issue of ihejirika heating up the polity in the country, if odumchi make his stand or feelings known that means he is fighting or what. I dont understand were your coming from ooo. Is odumchi eze ndigbo or eze nigeria. So if he make his stand known on igbo issues as eze ndigbo, he is e-fighting? Na wa o. So, as eze ndigbo he should sit down somewhere and be watching without any contributions to the igbo development and upliftment so that he wont be seen as a tribal warlord. Hmmmm.... Na wa ooo.
