Now, Canada is back to pre-pandemic rules. Nobody is creating any fear here. The person that misled those on deportation now is also a Canadian citizen like you.

Stop arguing blindly! My cousin got a student permit in July 2024 as a visitor visa holder and applied from within Canada. I think you should re-read the instructions and simply click "NO" to all the conditions you listed above. Another person also got approved last month. People like you can easily be misled by so-called immigration consultants, but the good thing about IRCC is that if you can read and understand, you don't need a consultant to interpret simple instructions for you.

People should be careful with the information and advice they get from people. A family with a stidy permit that is expiring in 2026 is on their way back to Nigeria now just because somebody gave them a wrong advise on immigration. As I am writing, they are at the CBSA deportation center. For privacy issue, I wont go into details.

As per study permit from inside Canada, the only person with visitor visa who can apply from inside Canada is somebody who came to study a pre-entry course that is six month or less. If your course is less than eight months, IRCC wont give you study permit. They will issue you visit visa to study. Omce you complete that course that is a prerequisite to what you want to study, you can apply for study permit from inside Canada. That one is settled.

The other time, somebody advised the spouse of somebody who defer admission to go and work. If you follow this advice, you are on your own o. That was the trap the family I mentioned earlier fell into. Now they are on their way to Nigeria. Look, there are some illegal things some students used to do in Canada in which they overlook in the past. But in Canada of today, DO NOT TRY IT.
The Immigration Minister has said that in many occassions that not all the students presently studying in Canada will be allowed to stay. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM THE ROPE THEY WILL USE TO HANG YOU.

I personally drove my cousin to the border to obtain his student permit after it was approved. he initially arrived in Canada on a visitor visa and successfully applied for a student visa. His application was approved, and everything went smoothly but expensive . So, let's focus on facts and avoid spreading unnecessary fear and misinformation !!

You can pay your tuition fee balance before departing your home country and hold evidence of payment , but the border guard may still request proof of living expenses. Note that tuition and living expenses are two distinct requirements.

With an in-Canada study permit application (IMM 5709, if using a gckey account), having a visitor visa does not make you eligible. To be eligible to apply from inside Canada as a visitor (a study permit is processed at a visa office in Canada, the Edmonton Office to be specific, and the permit is mailed to your address), you must meet specific criteria; one such requirement is completing a course or program prerequisite to securing a school admission to a DLI. With the outside-of-Canada study permit (IMM 1294, if using a gckey account), the application is processed at a visa office outside Canada.
Note that you can submit a study permit made outside Canada while in Canada on a visitor visa. Once you receive your PPR, you can mail your passport to Ottawa and flagpole to obtain your study permit after the visa is issued.

You're overcomplicating a simple process. Additionally, no course completion is required to apply for a student visa within Canada while on a visir visa . I know over 2 individuals who entered Canada on a visitor visa and successfully applied for a student visa internally.

However, I must note that:

- The process isn't stress-free.
- You'll still provide the same requirements as applicants outside Canada that LOA, PAL, PROOF OF FUND
- Medical fees are more expensive inside Canada.
- Approval isn't guaranteed (100%).
- If approved, you'll need to go to the border for flagpoling to get your study permit.
- You'll face another interview at the border before receiving your study permit.

Yea,You need a clear purpose for your application now like this case is about a parent and brother attending a graduation ceremony in Canada as family visitor , not just someone with no travel history and huge funds in their account going for tourism in canada,. Officials are stricter now because many past applicants overstayed or claimed asylum. If your application isn’t well-prepared with a clear purpose of visit but you only rely on showing money in your account as a visitor with no travel history, family or ties to Canada, you’re most likely going to wast your money, as Canada’s visa rules are now very strict!

My pastor in church gave me 3million to add to my trip and he said I can use his company's account statement to support mine since I'm going with my kids. His company's account is different from the church account but he's the founder of the church.

But the church wants to give me letter of support through the pastor, as a worker and minister. So which letterhead am i suppose to use and what will be the subject? Our pastors company is into construction and I don't have anything to do with the company but the church. The CAC docs has daddy's name and so also the church's docs.

Can they just combine the letter under church's letterhead mentioning the pastors company??

You're omitting the fact that what you're applying for is a tourist visa to have fun and relax, which is generally for those who can afford it. It doesn’t make sense to tell a visa officer you’re going on holiday to see Niagara Falls without sufficient funds, or relying on a donation for a cause that adds no value or advancement to your personal or professional life. Please note that it's 2024, and the era of visa bonanza or mass approval is gone and Canada’s immigration policies are now very strict. What you’re attempting isn’t advisable at this time, given the high rate of visa rejections. Your proof of funds for a leisure trip is highly questionable.

Write to a daycare center near your school, especially a private daycare, and inquire about reserving a spot for your child. Once you receive a reply or confirmation, attach it to your response for IRCC. This will help demonstrate that you have made arrangements for child care.

I'm sorry to hear about your refusal. As others have said, request your refusal letter first, read the reasons yourself, and then apply for your GCMS note, which will explain in detail more about why you were refused so that you can reapply and address the reasons in your new application. but ensure you get your refusal letter so that it is not more than what the agent is letting on. In my opinion, reapplying for a Canadian tourist visit visa may not be advisable at this time, considering the current very high refusal rate. Applicants with zero or limited travel history may be better off exploring other destinations or waiting until next year to apply. This is simply my suggestion, but ultimately, the decision rests with each individual—it’s your time and resources.

I think the second you circle red, is after any of the first condition above has been met e.g having a spouse who has work or study permits, completion of a prerequisite course for a full-time DLI etc. Chokor Millonaire has even done a youtube video on it. Countries used it to control student immigration to their countries just like Canada's LMIA work permit application that is now mandatory to be from outside country. Some countries do not even allow you to convert your visit visa to a study visa, you have to apply from outside country. You can even try applying through the link asa a tes, you will see if any of the condition above does not apply it will tell you...you dont qualify for a study permit from in-country. You can practicalize the process as a test.

The person involved can consult more maybe an immigration consultant cos its really tiring going through this application ONLY to find out you didn't meet the conditions.

I believe you are an educated individual who can read and write. You don’t need a YouTuber looking for followers to interpret a simple instruction for you, especially since most of them are not immigration lawyers. You can apply for a student visa from within Canada on a visitor visa. You simply select 'No' to those conditions, and it allows you to apply from inside Canada. I have seen someone apply and get approved, and another get rejected, with the rejected applicant regretting it because they ended up spending much more than if they had applied from outside Canada. So personally, I don’t encourage it, as not all applications are approved. However, as of today, you can apply for a student visa while in Canada on a visitor visa if you have your Letter of Enrollment (LOE), (PAL), and proof of funds (POF), though approval is not guaranteed!!

I used to think the condition is same until recently. Canadian immigration law encourages intending Intl students who wish to apply for Study Permit to apply from outside Canada except they meet certain requirements/conditions aside the regular requirement of the general study permit application. Ocas shows paid, payment receipt shows that 20,000 cad has been paid, but the student did not make such payment.

Please l hope it not agent that gave you payment receipt ? ,pls confirm that receipt and the PAL before you apply visa!

I hate that you all underrate Nigerians so much...I have never seen any Nigeria student from my school till date that went for the so called Asylum. Not everyone is desperate to stay in canada

It's not an understatement or a bitter story but a fact: you cannot come to Canada without your tuition fee and expect to work 20 hours a week to cover it—it’s just not possible. I know more than 15 Nigerian students in Toronto who are now out of school and have become asylum seekers, and you can go to 129 Peter Street and see homeless students. It's not something I wish for anyone, so let's share the truth about the need for students to prepare financially when coming to Canada!

Please, it easy process when she's already in Canada and plans to travel internationally, she can apply for a new Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) from within Canada through the IRCC website. This is a common process, especially for students who stay longer than their initial visa duration!

1)The current processing time for a study permit extension is 4 months. While your application is under processing, you can continue to study.

2)Applying with an old or new GCKey makes no difference.

3)As explained earlier, while on maintained status, it is not advisable to make an application for a family member. You should have made this application earlier, knowing the processing time for a visitor visa is 6 months. Applying now for a graduation next month is nearly impossible because IRCC does not have an expedite rule, only provisions for emergencies, and a graduation ceremony is not considered an emergency. Please note that most student family visits are granted based on the duration of the student visa, which in your case is absent because your visa extention is still under processing!

Do not let any school that cannot invite international students deceive you with marketing lies into thinking you can study in canada with a visitor visa even Many students are stranded in Canada after attending schools that offer no PGWP and have no money to change schools or apply for an LMIA!

Firstly, order your GCMS notes to check the actual status of your previous application, including the documents used and the information provided, before reapplying!

I just want to give an update. I was advised here to go see the agent at his office, so he will log into my portal in my presence. When I contacted him, he told me he was out of the country. (I have always communicated with him via WhatsApp only) except his office. Pls note that he was recommended by my uncle. So I have never meant him.
He said he will send me the letter, but to avoid me double crossing him so he could get his balance money, he will render the document unless for me, so I won't be able to make a copy to finish the process.
From research, submission of passport at the visa office is not a guarantee that your passport will be stamped. And the agent is concern about how to get his balance.

You better ask ur uncle if he know him well and his address becos it easy to make a video of ur portal to confirm visa approved but all this sudden travel abroad excuse by ur agent no look nice to me atleast he go paid deposit and why hard to show u a video with ur name and visa approved ,please amybody can get whatapp number of any country that no mean they live in that country please play smart and know scam is real!!

Pls ask for a video showing with ur name and ur portal that no hard now!!

Her application(can+ status) will not speed up your application, but your application will push hers to normal processing time as group application. It is still worth applying and proving your home ties. I wish you good luck

I suggest consulting a lawyer in nigeria, given the urgency of completing the process within 30 days. They can guide you through the legal requirements and expedite the process.

No direct or indirect gcms ,Anyone can apply for GCMS notes on their own without needing a third party, and it’s free from inside or outside canada. Many people have already applied successfully. If you use a third party now, keep in mind that next time, you can do it yourself and avoid wasting money!

I had some money when I went to Canada but my 42,000 sch fees was paid with working here with so many extra savings. Internship alone was $10,000 for 2 months. My program was 2yrs. I did monthly payment plan. I didn’t spend a penny from my Nigeria account. I just want to encourage someone that your will and determination is enough. This kind of misleading motivation is pushing many into stress in Canada because they arrive with false hopes after reading exaggerated stories like this in 2024. How can you save 10k in two months? Even as a Canadian resident, I can't save that, and a student can only work 20 hours—so how can you save 10k? Please wake up; it's 2024, and Canada is struggling economically! Every student is welcome, but come prepared financially and stop believing in fairy tales. With over 13,000 students out of school and now seeking asylum in the last 8 months in 2024 mostly due to financially difficult , do you think they’re lazy!
