BMO Capital Markets estimates nearly a third of Dollarama’s 2025 same-store sales growth will come from “elevated levels of immigration into Canada.”

And the Prime Minister was on record saying that they need the housing situation to stay that way to maintain the retirement nest egg of the older generation. Let me quote him - “Housing needs to retain its value,” Mr. Trudeau told The Globe and Mail’s City Space podcast. “It’s a huge part of people’s potential for retirement and future nest egg.”
The best way to maintain this value is to let in record number of immigrants.

Here is a quote from Maximilien Roy, VP of the industry lobby group Restaurant Canada "We need to have international students coming in. It's a key group working in the industry for us." Immigrants bring in money, no matter how small. They need bank accounts (RBC, CIBC, BMO, TD..), phone lines (Telus, Rogers...) etc.

So here are my two cents about this issue. Please note that these reflect my opinion and are not necessarily the objective truth.

1) The interest groups behind this record immigration are non partisan - if it were the Cons, the-same will happen. There is only one anti immigration party in Canada and I will not bother to name it.

2) Things have moved from the realm of what is proper/ethical/right. It is now about 'what favors me'. I will give an example of this. In the next 24hours the City of Saskatoon will vote whether to accept or reject the federal government Home Accelerator Funding - this is tailored towards building apartments along BRT routes. The question is, why would they even consider rejecting free money to build homes when the city is being plagued by historically low housing availability in the face of record influx?
There will be stiff opposition against accepting this from the FG. This stems from the fear of devaluation that comes from building apartment complex beside "these people's" 500k homes.

3) So I have moved to the realm of conspiracy theory now. You see, record immigration depresses wages. This is the blood stained claws of Capitalism. The employer prefer more people being available for the few available positions. The employer prefer 24/7 availability for a casual or temporary position - there are less responsibilities on the part of the employer to the employee with regards to a part time/casual position. These are only possible when there are more people.
In the face of rising inflation, it is intuitive for workers to demand for an increment in wages and working conditions. This is happening in various jurisdictions for unionized professions. But for those 'other jobs' (yes, you know the jobs I am referring to) na OYO o!

4) This situation is perfect for the movers and shakers of this country and if it were the Cons in power, the-same would have happened. The lobby groups finance the various political parties and it is perfectly legal. Yes, it's looking likely that the Libs will be kicked out but I doubt if things will change even with the new party.

Few years ago in Canada, you can get up to 5 different jobs few weeks upon landing and start guessing which offer to accept.

Back then, I got a job in an American MNC FMCG even before landing, just 1 interview on MS Teams and I got the Offer.

Canada visit visa processing time is 6 months, so your wife's application is still within the timeframe. However, applying for another visa or including her in your visa extension will not affect her visit visa application as one of the application will be canceled. Although the visa officer might consider the applications together( student visa extention and vistor visa) be cautious, as the required documents for a student visa extension differ from those for a visitor visa. Keep in mind that the outcomes of the applications are uncertain and subject to individual assessments

When I applied I had about 15m in my account which I submitted the bank statement for but I have been making expenses from that same account as I'm a realtor and I recently had my wedding and other personal and career expenses. It not about the amount but the embassy believe that bank account statement you submited is fake...so go back to ur bank to get a letter that the statement is not fake and print the same statement and you be fine!

You need to meet some requirements to qualify for study visa in Canada as a visitor as not everyone can qualify else you will be refused.

1) Your spouse must have work or study permit
2) You did a short course (less than 6 months) that qualified you for that study admission
3) others.

Sorry you dnt need all that to apply student permit inside canada on visitor visa pls go back to ircc website and click no to this questions and you will get this information attached , ircc stated you can apply like you outside ..the guy in the video did not do a good presentation of the total requirement becos l know 3 people that arrive canada on vv and apply inside canada for student permit and 2 approved and one rejected due to lack of home tie and proof of fund.

Visitor visas and student visas are two different categories of visas. If you arrive in Canada with a visitor visa, you need to secure admission, pay the school deposit, and get a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and (PAL) If you applied for a master's degree, PAL is not needed, but you must complete a medical exam, which is more expensive inside Canada. Then you apply for a student visa. Additionally, you have to show your proof of funds along with a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and then wait for the visa, which is not 100% guaranteed. If your visa is approved, you go to the land border to get your study permit. Please note that applying for a student visa inside Canada gives no added advantage; you will still be assessed based on all requirements, especially your proof of funds.

Do you still have ur biometic paper with you becos that contain ur UCI AND application number or ask the agent to send u ur UCI number and application number and with tbat you can order ur gcms note and you have a full picture of ur application current status

I am guessing they interpreted my statement of account as naira instead of USD because I submitted my DOM current account. That will be silly of them tho

IRCC mostly does not consider documents submitted via webform after you submitted your visa application unless they are requested or related to a change of passport ,change of name, change in marriage status, the birth of a new baby , minor error like you forget to state your previous usa visa refuse or withdraw of your application .

It can be challenging for individuals who are out of status in Canada unlike in usa , including those on a deportation list, to survive and find employment, including cash jobs that is even harder now to found job for thoes even with document. It's not uncommon to struggle under these circumstances. I've come across a situation where a Nigerian individual, who was on the deportation list, found the situation too overwhelming after a year and made the difficult decision to sell his house and return to Nigeria.i think maybe thoes from india or Mexican with deep job link especially in the constuction sector can survive in this situation but l doubt a nigerian will be able to stay out of status in canada on deportation list and survive it

I have gotten another bank statement from June as at the start date of the previous one till 31st may 2024. The pages are 96 pages and wen scanned is like 52mb. The agent said its too large to compress it to 2mb. I got reference letter too. Even from Jan till date is like 52 pages. What you need to do now is defend the authenticity of the bank statement you submitted. You're claiming that the bank statement you provided is genuine and not fabricated. Your best bet is to use "mybankstatement" and indicate to the visa officer that perhaps the previous statement lost its quality due to printing and rescanning, but "mybankstatement" shows the exact same period. The officer should compare, and you're 100% sure it's real, eliminating the need for a payslip. "Mybankstatement," the reference letter, and a letter of explanation from you will solve this problem. I've seen a case like this with a student, where it was due to bad scanning, but he opted for "mybankstatement" and a reference letter from the bank confirming the genuineness of the bank statement, along with a letter from the student explaining he now chose "mybankstatement" which show exactly same period and not altered and the visa was approved. you applied last year so even if you want to use printed version again ,you just need the bank to print same period when you submitted and back with reference letter and your letter of explanation ......all this suggestion is based on assumption the agent did not manipluate the intial printed version of the bank statement and was truthful since the agent did not use mybankstatemnt you provided.

The agent has sent in the Documents. They are real and authentic as i forwarded to him. I am thinking the problem is with the bank statement. I sent him electronic copy with ticket but he printed it out and attached to the application without bank official stamp. Bank couldn't print out that day cos their printer was bad, so they sent to my mail. I will visit the bank and reprint till current date. Lets see how it goes.

the Canada visa application is done online, so why is the agent printing the document if it was already sent to you in PDF format by the bank, which you then forwarded to the agent,What exactly is the agent printing and attaching? Canada no longer accepts paper applications. They accept any type of bank statement online, whether it's electronic or printed. If it's a printed paper given by the bank, then it has to be rescanned. Did the agent print the electronic bank statement and then rescan it? If this is what the agent did, the printing and rescanning process could have caused the statement to lose its quality and become blurry. If that's the case, then the agent is not a professional.

Go back to the bank and print the exact same statement that you submitted, and get a letter from the bank confirming that the statement is authentic then add ur own letter that the statement is orginal that it was send to ur email by the bank which u reprint and attached to your application. Merge all documents together because the space for additional documents cannot upload many files. If you mess this up, it could result in a ban. So, be smart with it.

According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), minor children accompanying a study permit holder can request a Visitor Record upon arrival in Canada or wait until they are inside Canada to apply for it.

Here are the options:
1.⁠ ⁠Request a Visitor Record upon arrival: When arriving in Canada, the minor children can request a Visitor Record from the border services officer. They will need to provide proof of their relationship with the study permit holder (e.g., birth certificate ) and their valid visitor visa.
2.⁠ ⁠Apply for a Visitor Record inside Canada: If they don't request a Visitor Record upon arrival, they can apply for it later from within Canada. They will need to submit an application, provide the required documents.

In either case, the Visitor Record will be issued, and it will allow the minor children to study in Canada without needing a separate study permit. and l pray your mother come in soon becos with 2 little kid ,it not easy to compare study with child care and working , also connect other parent in your school becos it huge task ahead especially as your husband has to return to nigeria since he not qualified for sowp and immiediately you land start planning about path for PR as many rule changing so fast in canada and student route did not guaranty PR ..l wish you all the best!

He will never admit that he submitted oluwole statement for you.

To convince the VO now will be very difficult because if you later send the genuine statement and it does not tally with the previously submitted one then I'm scared what your application outcome might be 😞😞😞

What they need from him now is to defend that the bank statement he submitted is real and not fake. He should not try to send any new statement without knowing 100% what the agent previously submitted. Only by a miracle will he escape the ban, which is why I do not like the idea of using agents. From my observation, it is due to fund for bank statements that people patronize agents. But in this case, you have your bank statement, so why do you need an agent? Probably the agent didn't use the original bank statement and thought the amount was small, so he used a typewriter to boost it.but if the agent is honest and acutally upload the orginal statment then the guy have a good case and ircc will reconsider the case as error and hopeful issue him a visa.

That is screenshot from the MyBankStatement website, which clearly states that nothing is sent to the embassy by the bank. Even if a bank staff member sends it, it will not be accepted by the embassy. The embassy will access your bank statement on our portal when the MyBankStatement slip is submitted as part of your application, which contains the login(ticket number ) and password to your statement created by the bank..so the embassy will only consider the financial document upload to your portal at the time of application. and it clearly stated on mybankstatment by the bank (Please ensure this document is submitted along with your application documents)

You cannot send your bank statement directly to the Canada embassy. Only the copy uploaded to your portal for the visa application is considered part of your application. Please ask your agent what was the actual financial document uploaded to your application

Go get another statement of account covering the period you submitted earlier and explain your situation with a letter. Get the normal hard copy as a back up, and MybankStatement too

This best answer above but If you used an agent for your application , it's better to contact the agent to ensure which documents regarding proof of funds were uploaded before you respond. It's difficult to claim that Mybankstatement is fake because it's just a login and password generated by the bank. This Situation could result in a 5-year ban if not handled properly addressed!

There is no legal limit to the amount of cash you can bring into Canada. However, if you are traveling with CAD 10,000 (or the equivalent in foreign currency, including USD) or more, you must declare this amount to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Failure to declare amounts equal to or greater than CAD 10,000 can result in fines or seizure of the money.

Sure, you can apply for canada visa inside usa on a b1/b2 visa and add a letter stating that you want to visit a friend in Canada before your return to Nigeria. Also, include a copy of your USA visa as long as you have not overstayed in the USA. It should be fast processing, but still, nobody can guarantee how fast or slow it will be. Most importantly, you can submit your passport anywhere in the world when it is requested after the visa is approved.
