Lol, move to the US then. A lot of Canadians have done that , just move to the US that has the perfect economy and best leadership. You are so quick to point out all the flaws in Canada blaming the prime minister and all even absolving the 51 state statement calling it a joke. Go to US with the perfect economy, best employment figures, no layoffs, full safety of life and property, no crime , best inexpensive healthcare . lol, just go there abeg. After Trump is done with the US Una eyes go clear. Make Canada continue to tie itself to a sinking economy that cannot even handle Iran when it’s obvious the world has changed . Abeg just go to the US .
Surely Part of that mindset you have may come from growing up in nigeria , where years of poor leadership ,military dictatoship, corruption, nepotism made many people see government decisions as something to endure rather than question. But now, as a Canadian resident, you should understand that in a democracy, policies are meant to be debated and challenged, not blindly trusted. Pointing out economic realities or policy weaknesses does not mean you telling someone should move to the U.S.; it simply means they understand accountability and critical thinking. Please debate with maturity and facts, not sentiment shaped by your bad leadership experience from ur background.

Never heard of that before . Transiting airports canceling another country’s visa. Lawsuit go don tire them.
Airlines don’t ‘cancel’ visas they just deny boarding. Then they contact IRCC, and if your story doesn’t add up,which in most cases IRCC side with airline then cancels the visa on their side instantly while it’s still in your passport, and you’ll only get the email later. Nobody is stamping anything. A visa is a privilege, not a right, and it can be withdrawn at any time, and no lawsuit can win that because you signed and agreed to the visa conditions. Attached is someone who was denied boarding in transit and sent back to Nigeria then visit visa canceled.

Dear Colleagues, I trust you all are doing well. I need to ask a few questions for those in the UK, Canada and America . This is a question for the people resident not tourist. Aside education route, which other route do you advise is quicker to come over. Kindly advise , even though I have quite knowledge in alot of these routes, I want to hear from someone or people who are ground sharing real time experiences. Thanks
Relocation is not fast but If you’re looking for a faster route and not ready to study french , consider investment immigration but it requires substantial funds. The U.S. EB-5 Green Card needs about $800,000–$1 million USD, Canada’s Start-Up Visa or Québec Investor Program starts from around CAD $250,000, and the UK Innovator Founder Visa typically requires around £250,000 in investment. These routes are faster than study or work pathways if you have the capital.

Since she already sent her new passport and medicals through web forms, the best step now is to wait patiently it can take a few weeks for IRCC to update her file. Honestly, only a patient person can deal with IRCC !

Lolz. Certificate is nothing to oyinbo. You need just ability to perform your job. There's also something called skill tranferability. Also I already worked as a support worker in a different organization for 1 year.

Just to let you know. The information on the nocs are not determinative. This is based on ircc own training manual for their officers obtained by Steve meurrens via access to information. You can read a training manual below.
Certificate and education requirements are highly considered in category-based draws. However, since you’re already in Canada, a senior visa officer may still approve your profile after review, based on your valid job offer and verified work experience with a reputable Canadian organization. The refusal note attached applies to an outlander applicant.

Good morning everyone,

I have a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science and a PG in Social Work.
I’m currently running a Master’s degree in Social Work.

I’d like to evaluate my credentials with WES, should I go ahead and submit my BSc and PGD now, or wait until I complete my Masters?

Thank you
Your current BSc + PGD already qualify you for the “two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees” category, while completing your Master’s degree would increase your CRS score by about 7 additional points.

It’s best to use the CRS calculator to determine which option best for u now based on your age, IELTS score, and work experience.

And remember times are changing, and immigration policies are shifting worldwide. Time waits for no one, and nobody can predict what will happen next in Canada as the government continues to adjust immigration quotas.

After getting nominated under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), it usually takes about 12–18 months to get PR.
AAIP nomination: ~4–6 months
IRCC PR processing: ~8–12 months

I have a nephew in Saskatchewan, a citizen. I wish to claim relationship points in SINP but I have a concern with him being a minor. Anybody with idea on how SINP handles family relationship should please educate me.
A minor nephew doesn’t qualify for SINP points. The supporting relative must be an adult (18+), PR or citizen, and living in Saskatchewan. If his parents are PR/citizens there, you can use them instead.

My man..if you have the money..I would advise that you consult with an immigration consultants.. The truth be told, All of us here no sabi reach those guys oooo
Hiring an immigration consultant cannot suddenly overturn a clear case of misrepresentation. Consultants are not magicians; they can only work with the facts you provide. If your case involves multiple profiles or inconsistent information, IRCC applies Section 40 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), which defines misrepresentation. Under this law, providing false or misleading information, or withholding material facts, can lead to refusal and a five-year ban from reapplying.

Hi guys, thanks for all you do here. I've been a long time follower of this thread.

I just received a message from IRCC questioning two major things on my family application..
First: asked to address my wife(primary applicant) to clarify the profession on our marriage certificate, the profession doesn't correlate with her NOC, and it didn't cross our eyes since we had been married for a while now.

Secondly: we were asked to clarify the NOC of our previous profile. We'd opened a profile for trade briefly last year and deleted then re-entered for healthcare this year. The VO asked why we never mention this new foreign experience in the previous interest

Please, how can we carefully address these concerns
The marriage cert easy to defend but the second part IRCC now view this as misrepresentation. The issue is that you first created a profile under the trades stream But when trade was downgraded , then you later opened another profile under a different NOC in healthcare mostly (nurse aide or pharmacy asistant) with different work history. IRCC is very strict on multiple profiles and inconsistent information, as this can appear deceptive.
To address this, you must give a clear and honest explanation: state that the first profile was exploratory and created before your healthcare experience was fully qualifying or documented. Once eligible, you closed that profile and submitted a new one with accurate information. Stress there was no intent to mislead, and attach supporting evidence (employer letters, payslips, bank deposits, confirmation of employment).
Be aware, however, that most recent cases with multiple profiles have been refused in this 2025, unless the differences were very minor especially as regard dates in previous and new profile .l wish u all the best

Please guru on this platform. I need input on this situation.

A close family person is here in Canada. He has graduated and currently on pgwp which is expiring in less than two weeks

He got ITA ( health draw ) with a crs score of 472.
He has 1 year canadain experience in health and claimed 2 years foreign experience.

After he got ITA, he discovered that he made a mistake in his Canadian credentials point when he was creating profile.

He recalculated his score after he made the correction of the mistake and then the score reduced below 470 cut off. So technically he may need to decline the ITA

The two years foreign experience is without his NYSC experience. He is thinking he can update his profile after ITA to include NYSC and then claim 3 years foreign experience.

With 1 year Canadian experience and 3 years foreign experience and correct Canada credential his score will be 481.

please help a poor boy. I am not sure of correct answer to him

Can he update his work experience after ITA. His PPA is willing to issue him necessary document to support the nysc experience.

Please he needs help. 🙏
The work experience he stated when applying for his study visa is the main issue, because IRCC often flags cases where international students suddenly claim new experience on their PR application that wasn’t declared in earlier applications

I recently receive ITA and I'm getting my documents ready, pease I have a couple of questions
1. For my POF, my brother is gifting me the money and we live in the same country but different state. Which of us can initiate the gift deed and can I sign virtually since our locations are far from each other?
2. Do I need to notorize my gift deed?
3. Do I need to attach a proof of bank transfer from my Donor's (my brother) bank app
4. I have travelled from Togo to Senegal by road and my passport was stamped at Ghana, but I didn't sleepover at Ghana. Should I declare Ghana under my travel history as well? Thank you

5. Lastly, and importantly: I selected Financial Auditors and Accountants as my job role since it is the closest match to my actual position at work. However, the reference letter from my organization lists my job title as Bank Branch Accountant. The job description in the letter, though, aligns with the NOC I chose on the IRCC portal. Should I update my job role on my Express Entry profile to Bank Branch Accountant?
.
1. Gift deed – Your brother (donor) initiates it. You can sign virtually (scanned signature).

2. Notarization – Not mandatory but strongly recommended.

3. Proof of transfer – Yes, attach the transfer slip from his bank.

4. Travel history – Yes, declare Ghana since your passport was stamped.

5. Keep your company’s real title (Bank Branch Accountant) but ensure duties match your chosen NOC. No need to change the NOC if job duties align

IRCC being stricter has nothing to do with the law. There is a clear procedure of amending the family composition after the PR (not EE, but PR) application is processed. It does require a LOT of due diligence and I'd not recommend doing it by self without a legal advisor but it's possible and more than doable. There is no legal ground for IRCC to cancel COPR just because an applicant has the circumstances changes. It's not true
Mr lawyer,I laugh at you. An applicant initially declared their spouse as unaccompanying just to boost their CRS score and get an ITA. Now that they’ve received COPR, they suddenly want to add the spouse back, thinking it’ll be a smooth ride. Go ahead and try it then come back and tell us how it went. That strategy don cast.
I just hope others won’t fall for this and land themselves in trouble. I personally know someone who, just last month, had to apply for reconsideration after trying to add an unaccompanying spouse. IRCC recalculated her CRS score with the spouse included and she became ineligible.

NewBob:
If you are an un-accompanying in the application, she may sponsor you upon her arrival in Canada. In fact, there is even an option to become an accompanying again after COPR, when the application for PR is in process
Please withdraw this advice this 2025, if you try to add an accompanying spouse after receiving your COPR but before landing, the COPR may be cancelled and reprocessed and anything can happen during that process. IRCC has become stricter, as seen in recent ADRs and PR refusals.
The better and safer option is for the principal applicant to first land in Canada, obtain PR status, and then sponsor the unaccompying spouse through the spousal sponsorship program.

Yeah the employment reference letter is primary. Just to cover the possible expectations that i have to give additional proof, I need to know if i would still have a chance and if I do, what I can do. But like u said, an explanation would help for the gap in payments
So how many months have you worked without pay?
IRCC requires that eligible work experience must be paid. If you’ve been working for several months without receiving regular salary, it may raise concerns. In such a case, you should request a letter from your employer confirming that the salary is delayed, that the position is paid .

Hi everyone,
I would like to enter the express entry pool. My foreign work experience is with a startup that delays employees salary payment for months.

Will this be an issue when providing proof of employment such as account statement that shows my irregular salary payments?
The first document IRCC requests as proof of employment when applying for PR after ITA is a reference letter from the company, not your salary account. However, the visa officer may request additional documents later, depending on your case, such as payslips, salary deposits into your account, and tax documents. Any delays in salary payments can also be explained, if necessary.

Please let’s follow the conversation before commenting.

The original question was:

Has anyone used cash or a Stocks and Shares ISA as POF (Proof of Funds)?”

Just to clarify, cash or a Stocks and Shares ISA are not accepted by IRCC as valid proof of funds.

Mutual funds and treasury bills are a different topic altogether, so it’s important to understand the difference.

Travel record to US and Dubai.
US visa has now expired and renewal was denied recently.

Personal funds of abt 5m. But not coming in form of structured monthly salary.
Should I still wait ?
Your travel history to the US and Dubai is a plus, but the recent US visa refusal and lack of structured income weaken your Canadian application. ₦5 million is decent, but IRCC looks for consistent financial ties and stability like regular income or active business records.
But did your US visa renewal refusal come after an interview, or was it just through the drop box? If it was drop box, it might have been a document or eligibility issue, not a strong negative. But if you were interviewed and still denied, IRCC may see that as more serious. Either way, it’s smart to improve your financial documentation before applying to Canada as canada respect usa visa.

Your quick response is truly appreciated, more than you know.

One last thing:
1. I'm currently stuck on the part of the application that asks for information about my deceased parent. Do I have to input them since they are both passed?
2. Also, which bank card is best to use for paying the visa fee online? I want to avoid any failed transactions.

Thanks again!
You should still include your parents' information in the application, even if they are deceased. Just indicate their status clearly IRCC requires full family background details.
For the visa fee payment, it's best to use a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card. You can also call your bank to confirm if your card is eligible for international payments and the required amount. If a transaction fails, it’s not a big deal, you can simply try again with a different card after few hours.

His question is valid. He asked why 4 people are needed for inspection?. Sending 4 people can only be done if it's government money and a means for embezzlement. Private sectors won't send 4 people when 1 or 2 people can do it. Canada visa approval is back to what it used to be before what I call " the great influx". Good luck and I hope the last 2 standing get approved.
Exactly. No real private company needs a whole team to inspect one purchase of equipment abroad, 1 or 2 is standard. Sending 4, with unclear roles, screams "visa move" to IRCC. They’ve seen it all before, and now every detail is checked especially since many abused business invites to overstay. That loophole is closing fast.

Is it advisable to go ahead?
Having N10m in your husband's account is not enough if you have no personal income or travel history. IRCC looks at your own ties not just your sponsor’s money. No structured income, weak business proof, and no travel record = likely refusal. Fix your profile first or wait.

Hi guys, I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

1. I currently hold a valid 2 years UK visa and visited for official work in April.
2. I have stable financials including a healthy pension balance, domiciliary and savings account balances.
3. I’m a civil servant, married with children.
4. I’ve just begun my Canadian Visitor Visa application, and I’m wondering:

Is it necessary to include a letter of invitation from someone in Canada? I don’t have anyone I’d want to bother for that, so I’d prefer to use hotel bookings instead.

A. Would this affect my chances?
B. Have there been successful applications approved without a letter of invitation; just hotel reservations and a normal profile like mine?

Any advice or shared experience would be really appreciated.
Yes, a letter of invitation is not mandatory for a Canadian visitor visa. Hotel bookings are perfectly acceptable.

A. No, it won’t negatively affect your chances if the rest of your application is strong like yours seems to be.
B. Yes, many applicants have been approved without an invitation letterusing hotel bookings and strong ties to home like family, job, and finances.
You’re on the right track. Just make sure your documents clearly show your purpose of visit and strong ties back home.

That they will recalculate the score.
If you get married after AOR, your CRS score won’t be recalculated. However, if you were already married and declared your spouse as non-accompanying just to boost your CRS, then try to add them after AOR, IRCC sees this as manipulation and is actively discouraging such practices.

Hello everyone!
Please I need your guidance

My husband is a college student in Canada and he’s in his second year already. The initial plan was to go and join him once he gets to Canada and then I’ll apply for a SOWP but IRCC spoilt the plan with their new policies. Since I wouldn’t be able to work, I decided to apply for study permit as well because “I don’t want to be idle” when I get there. Unfortunately for me, IRCC has refused my study permit 3 times now. So, I’ve decided to take the dependant/visitor’s visa route, I don tire, we’ve not even spent up to 3 months together before IRCC came up with their policies. I’m so depressed 😔 I need to see my husband lol …. I need your help guys what do I do? Where do I start from?

What are the rules/policies regarding visas for dependants of college students asides being unable to work?

Will my previous study permit refusals affect my application?

Am I the one to submit the application myself or my spouse?

How much is required as POF?

What other documents do I need to submit?

How soon can I apply because I just got the last refusal letter yesterday?
With three student visa refusals on record, securing a visitor visa may not be easy but you can still try. That said, I strongly recommend that you focus on the Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) route instead. It's a more strategic and long-term pathway. You and your husband should also begin planning toward permanent residency (PR) now.
I currently live in Ontario, and I can tell you firsthand that many international students here are feeling confused, anxious, and uncertain about the future . A lot of them lack a clear direction. It’s important to look beyond social media and influencer narratives many of the real challenges people are facing aren’t openly discussed. Some are silently struggling behind closed doors.
PR allocations have been reduced, and many provincial nomination programs (PNPs) are being scaled back as the government works to lower overall immigration numbers. For you to qualify for a SOWP, your husband will need to secure a job ( teer 0,1,2,3)after graduation and in the current climate, finding a job is not easy. So please, plan wisely and prepare realistically. i wish you and your spouse all the best.

I see I’ve triggered some people by saying you need to pursue an in-demand and InFocus program and upgrade your skill set.

Yes, I’m fully aware of the population differences and challenges faced by those coming from other countries.

But my focus is on those who are not planning effectively for themselves or thinking strategically about how to succeed by aligning with an in-demand focus area.

Don’t blame others for your setbacks. I never said it’s easy but I’ve always emphasized that going the extra mile makes a difference.

If you're blaming a lack of connections,
systemic bias, or lack of a professional network,

then frankly, you’re not yet prepared to put in the necessary work. Your current skill set may not align with globally recognized standards.

Let’s be clear: it’s not always "the white man" holding you back. If you’re truly good, you’ll be recognized and selected.

Stop blaming everyone else.

Focus on what you can control enhancing your skill set and actively building your professional network.
Thank you for sharing your perspective it’s appreciated. But let’s start by being honest about the current employment situation in Canada. Jobs are scarce, and even well-qualified newcomers are struggling. In fact, the example of your cousin who had to fabricate work experience just to land a job proves how difficult it really is.
While your advice about upgrading skills and pursuing in demand programs is valid, the tone of your message leans too heavily on victim-blaming. Many newcomers arrive based on the illusion of a labour shortage, only to face systemic barriers, underemployment, and exploitation.
Yes, people should take responsibility and plan better, but that doesn’t mean dismissing the real challenges others face. Just because a few manage to break through doesn’t mean the system isn’t broken for the rest. Let’s encourage strategic planning without undermining the efforts and frustrations of those still finding their footing.thank you

* Also, Is there a way he can submit the application without medicals at the beginning. I wonder why the application is asking it for him from the beginning but for some others here, I can see it was requested as the application progressed. Did I select something wrong at filling the forms?
* How do I process his Police character certificate? I hear it's different now and no more middle man. Is this true? What's the website and how long does it take?
Go on iom website to book appointment if you want to do upfront medical but it not compulsory to do upfront medical test!

That double standard statement, but Mr. Carney may seem brilliant to you, but it may not reflect the facts of the matter. It’s probably your personal opinion, not the opinion of the majority

Fiestafetta:
Good morning everyone, hope this message meet everyone of you well. Please I'm here to seek everyone's sincere opinion and advice most especially the professional ones in this group. Me and my wife are considering to migrate to Canada even though I have been researching on the easiest paths we can explore to make the process seamless in terms of time and financial affordability but I consider it necessary to come here to seek more opinion and advice to make us make informed decision. Please below is our profile:
Husband:
Educational background: BSc psychology (2.2)
Age: 42 Work Experience: Business/trader no formal work experience before
Wife:
Educational background: BSc Sociology (2.1), MSW Health Social Work
Age: 38, work Experience: Medical Social work (Volunteer) Both in Hospital and mental health services
Presently working with state government as a teacher, guidance and counselor with 3 years experience.
So my questions are as follows
1) Between educational qualification and work experience which is best eligible for PNPs or have higher chances? The reason is that, my wife is going to be main applicant and if that is the case, she doesn't want to get registered with Social work regulatory body before migration, (we believe the process is cumbersome and most times Nigeria social work standard not fully recognize in Canada, so additional training may be required). And most importantly, each provinces have their seperate regulations. Or is it possible we start process without Social work registration? Please we will need more insight and help to enable us navigate the process.
2) which other ways or path ways we can explore that will simplify our process?
Thank you so much for your anticipated assistance.
Your graduating grade of 2.1 or 2.2 is not important in Express Entry. With your wife’s level of education and work experience, social work registration in Nigeria is not important in Canada and is not required for Express Entry. The main challenge now is the age factor for your family. At 38 years, the best approach would be to aim for a good score in IELTS and make a strong effort to learn French and pass the French exam (TCF or TEF). It is often a misconception that PNPs are an easy route to Canada if your age is high or your CRS score is low. Please understand that they are not, as many applicants are also hoping for PNPs, and the required score or criteria may be high. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but given your age factor, the French pathway remains the best option.
