Good day, everyone,this a general post for anyone who has ideas or answers to my questions.
I am mother of three looking to move to Canada with my kids. I have a five year visitor visa already. My questions are:
Which province is most suitable for me,in respect to settling in, finding a job and school for my kids, price of accommodation and cost of living generally.

I have always been a business woman and from what I have gathered it's easier for skilled workers to get jobs so which training or programs can I run and get certified before travelling next year?

Is it possible to write Canadian certificate examinations from Nigeria and get certified.

I'm based in Port Harcourt,is there anyone from Port Harcourt here who can help me with information on any of the questions I have asked?

I'm open to any advice I get because I intend to either get a job from here before coming or get a job when I arrive.

Please help a sister.

Bros that area hot now, your chances of approval is very slim because of history of Nigerians indiscriminately using the route to file for asylum.

However if you have good travel history without breaking immigration rules plus good account balance and work/assets home ties you may stand a chance for conference. If you are also a speaker in the conference of your own professional field and your invitees are sponsoring you fully or partially it's also another advantage.

Most of the people sharing visa approval are from family or friends or colleagues visits.

Before the issuance of a new passport, the immigration would cancel the old one on the system

And my collection email from VFS dropped since yesterday afternoon (I was just stressing my self for nothing)

I was checking a different email from the one I submitted to VFS

I’m picking up my stamped passport on Monday

My new passport was genuinely obtained through the right process, all due process followed, so I’m very okay with them sending it to immigration for confirmation

All I want is for them to affix my visa for me at the end of everything

Not just validity of the passport but the year of biometric validity left, it takes the lesser of the two.

For instance if your passport has ten years validity but 4 years biometric validity you will get only 4 years stamp visa.

The CBSA can only reduce the limit you can stay per time from 6 months to what he deems appropriate via stamp.

No matter how long your visa is for—one, five, or even ten years—once you enter Canada and apply for asylum, the Canadian visa that is currently on your passport is of no use anymore.

If the asylum or refugee applicant receives a negative decision, the Canada visa in his or her passport becomes invalid to use, and the chances of getting another Canada visa in the future become very low.

As at today I contacted VFS by email and they said my passport is not ready for collection and it’s still being processed at the embassy

Since I submitted my passport, I have not received any single email notification

I feel something is wrong somewhere. I submitted since on the 8th

Remember I’m the guy who was complaining about a VFS staff making me pay SMS fee that was not compulsory

I later reached out to VFS and requested a refund politely and they said they cannot issue a refund as I’ve used the SMS services already

Are you sure they are not angry with me for requesting a refund of the SMS fee and are now withholding my passport

There is virtually nothing that would make me be stupid enough to leave my job and stable life in the uk for Canada. I am fine with just visiting my sister and returning back to the uk that guarantees me stability and a means of income.

Submitted my application since February 19th, biometrics February 29th. I have not heard from them and I am not bothered because I don’t even think I am interested anymore but I just want to find out the outcome. I wanted to go for a holiday and honestly with everything that’s going on with regards to jobs availability in Canada, I would pick the uk a hundred times over Canada that is hard to get jobs nowadays even for genuine people. Mind you my elder sister is a citizen there and I have cousins scattered there who are schooling and have been complaining for a while now. The uk might be hard to get a stay, but the stability here is sure.

I am submitting Student visa here in Nigeria but I need to travel out immediately after that. Whenver High Commision Canada in Lagos requests for my passport for visa stamping, can I send my passport to Nigeria(Canadian Embassy) for visa stamping using Two-way Courier Service? Is there no illegality doing so or any risks?

I will appreciate if other people can contribute to this also.

please my agent just sent all the documents he provided and the login that u should find someone to continue the processing from were he stopped.....the said i they ask me to proof that i am the director of the company he used

I just applied for a visitor Visa too and will be doing biometrics next week.
I did it myself and paid 185cad but the interface I got was quite different from yours.

Infact I didn't have to fill any IMM form unlike what you have there.

Why was mine different ?

Do you also applied for tourist visa in your first application?

It will be extremely difficult to convince Canadian VO to issue you a tourist visa in 2024 without extensive travel history.

I will advice you to abort mission and apply to a more immigration friendly country for your tour

But their permutation was wrong because I don't have intention of staying back. The POF is not even meant for spending because my friend is willing to pay for my expenses as he has done on our previous journey.

My aim is to use the trip as travelling experience before applying for US

Above all, it's the image of Nigeria that is dent that is prioritise above our real intention and claims . They don't trust us

I wanted to confirm something that my friend just brought to my attention.

I applied for Visitor visa for Spouse and since his passport is 10 years, I was expecting them to give him 10 years and 5 years each for our two kids.

But we were all given 2 years which is the duration of the two year Diploma program.


Is it normal? Or there is an error that we need to contact IRCC about

Canada is an overrated hell of a place!. Some people in Nigeria eat better than they do after moving to Canada, but the truth is often hidden as people tend to criticize Nigeria while covering up the realities of life in a place like Canada. My brother had to sleep at a train station in Toronto for two days before finding a temporary place to stay. Even their so-called homeless shelters are filled up and no space . It's a terrible place for any hustler looking to work and study because currently no work and many are jobless . Money wasted on worthless education there is better invested elsewhere! if you go online you will see thousand of job but it all liars and deceivers! . many of you Nigerians aboard please make you guys dey tell people coming the truth and not creating all this fake paradise credit lifestyle online to deceive people back home !!

To those insinuating that Canada is no longer issuing visa to anyone who do not have USA, Australia or UK visa. All an applicant need is to first seek for proper knowledge on the right documents to submit and do away from any form of fake and misrepresentation documents, declare any USA refusal "if any" then always pray for God's mercy to prevail. That's all!!!

I am already in the process through a work route. Work secured, waiting for LMIA. Hopefully, it will work out. So far, I have spent less than N4 million, if successful, the total cost will be under N8 million, but then, I can't recommend this to anyone until I get my visa. If I did not get my visa, I'll count my loss and move on.

Have you had any interviews? if you are applying and no one is reaching out then you need to take a closer look at your resume.
Sometimes people suggest you dumb down your resume so you don't appear over qualified. I have a friend who did an interview when he came to Canada and the recruiter said "I will be doing you a disservice to employ you because you are overqualified.........".
Have you tried going through recruitment agencies? they have access to jobs that are sometimes not listed.
Also try applying outside your territory or province, you may be able to get something.
