Sports / Re: Nigerians Wake Up We Are Nigerians Not Ghanaians by afiamanu(f): 5:28am On Jun 28, 2010
All this is really unnecessary. The reason we are saying that Ghana is representing Africa is because all the African countries were eliminated in the group stage on African soil. It's a world record that the team hosting the World Cup gets eliminated first round yet it managed to happen in Africa. I feel that this useless hate is just because Ghana is the country advancing to the next round. If it were Ivory coast I don't think this thread would even exist.
Sports / Re: Ghana vs USA: [2 - 1] 26th June @ World Cup 2010 by afiamanu(f): 3:59am On Jun 27, 2010
Thank you to all those who had no faith in us (Ghana) and thanks you to all those who said we couldn't score goals without penalty. Those who said we could score without penalty fail to see that without the illegal blocking of the ball on the line- those balls would have went in the net, hence the penalty!

But Ghana! You have done well!
Sports / Re: Ghana Vs Germany [0 - 1] On June 23 @ World Cup 2010 by afiamanu(f): 10:45pm On Jun 23, 2010
Litmus:

Congrats Ghana Bad luck Algeria.

Like I stated this Ghana team is lucky. They would not have beaten the English in the next round but America, which they got, is beatable. So, great! they have every chance of going further.

@ the bolded you mean that same english team that ws nont able to beat algeria or USA - both teams that everyone knew thought was weak in comparison?! please england themselves weren't playing well until they got to slovenia

Even still, ghana needs to start scoring some goals cause this austrailia team that helped us out wont be by our side in the next round
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs South Korea: 2 - 2 @ World Cup 2010, June 22 by afiamanu(f): 2:52pm On Jun 21, 2010

haha what happened to all the Super Eagles fans that were in the Nigeria vs. Greece forum !
Sports / Re: South Africa World Cup 2010 Officiating by afiamanu(f): 2:35pm On Jun 21, 2010
I must say I do not like the way most of these referees are handling these matches. Of course referees are prone to make errors in judgment but the errors most of these referees are making are game changing goals - like khunes red card, the usa goal being disallowed and brazil's handball etc.- and not simple mistakes like a foul or free kick or something like that. As football fans watching the game it kind of just ruins the entire game for you when you see these useless stupid calls being made!
Sports / Re: Ghana Vs Australia: June 19, 2010 @ World Cup by afiamanu(f): 12:42am On Jun 20, 2010
na_so:

I can bet that this is not a good result for Ghana. A win against australia is definitely an easier task than a draw against the german machines. I am just afraid for all the african teams.

Now that I take a step back and re-assess the Group D, I feel that the tie was a good option. Ghana needs to either tie or beat Germany, or needs Austrailia to tie or beat Serbia and since Austrailia now has a fighting chance to make it to the next round I think that they may be able to even tie serbia. In either case Ghana will advance to the next round. Worst case scenario Ghana and Austrailia both lose miserably- although probable lol- I think we still have a good chance!
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Greece: [1 - 2] On June 17, 2010 @ World Cup by afiamanu(f): 2:27am On Jun 18, 2010
The last goal was offside; these linesmen aren't doing their job and thats what happened and Khune from SA got a red card
Culture / Re: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by afiamanu(f): 8:20am On Jun 16, 2010

Celebrities / Re: Nigeria Vs Ghana Movie Stars Which Do You Prefer by afiamanu(f): 7:48am On Jun 16, 2010
@ Ruq
it's funny when you say "I see some fools calling them our African brothers when they don't even see us like that."
It's very hypocritical when you're complaining that Ghana doesn't see Nigeria as brothers yet you yourself are perpetuating hate towards Ghana when you say "bleep ghana". Or in Nigeria is that how you guys address your brothers?

as for this thread, i really like emeka- but ini edo far surpasses the other girl

Hmmm, me I don't like the way Ghana is playing  ( if you call whatever they're doing playing), but as long as we're scoring points and winning  I don't mind! :-)

Abz:

Once having a Ghanaian friend, I think I can answer this, when is it ever that when Nigerian guys gather together, their conversations, interests, prejudices, jokes are about Ghana or Ghanaians (apart from the football), but in reverse, the Ghanaians conversations are all about Nigerians with crass envy.

LOL, and you figured out this just with that one friend eh
Romance / Re: Can My Pastor Instuct Me To Marry A Sister In My Fellowship by afiamanu(f): 9:32pm On Nov 09, 2009
I've never heard of anything like that before. It should be you that is given a sign to marry this woman, and you should at least "date" the girl before you consult your pastor about marrying her. lol I guess your pastor wants his church to be fruitful and multiply

Actually I can say that Ghana is stepping up on its drug trafficing (not that I am condoning it) but my response was directed to a previous post by another member. His/her comment stated that Nigeria was more known that Ghana, and I was simply letting him/her know why it was more known ! I'm not beefing with Nigeria, how can I my grandma's nigerian!!!

@ Afiamanu, you may want to have a read through this.
Nigeria invests heavily in Ghana, as well as other African countries. That is not even an exhaustive list of them either.

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=751182
Whoa, I didn't realize how much Nigeria invested in Ghana, thanks for that.

ezeagu:

Could you show me where I did that, thanks.

When I said you, I meant that collectively as a group

Rhiana looks like an Ibo girl.
Morris Chestnut looks Yoruba.
JenniferHudson looks like a Yoruba girl called Bose
R.Kelly looks Yoruba.
Brandy looks Igbo.
Chingy looks igbo

these are just a couple i found. But don't get me wrong I guess they could look like those nigerian sub-groups but there are other countries that these facial characteristics are found in more abundance

HeatFusion:

Can't wait to see how the Nigeria-Must-Go bag will look.
lol its funny but I don't think Ghanaians would ever do anything like that, afterall when Nigerians came to Ghana hundreds of years ago we accepted them and now they are part of our country/culture.

londoner:

Ghana will not send Nigeria packing, the legitimate business/investment in Ghana from Nigerians ie, banks, telecoms etc is something which they actually will think twice about letting go of. Its not the same type of influx that came into Nigeria when the Ghanaians came in the 1980's.

If Ghana sends even just the Nigerian banks packing, their own people will feel it.
There is a stark contrast.

Umm, which banks and businesses are these?

nazzyon:

1 GHC = 0.0159844 NGN

I'm very sure you are misinformed. The exchange rate you shwoed is the old Ghana Cedi the new one follows as this
1 GHS = 108.106 NGN or in case you don't understand that, 1 NGN = 0.00925016 GHS
The Ghana Cedi is almost that of Canada's dollar with the exchange rate as follows: 1 GHS = 0.908087 CAD

I notice that when Nigerians are being spoken about with a negative connotation, such as Nigerians 'running'(for lack of a better word) to a different country, some people always seem to go on the defensive and attack other Nationalities living in Nigeria as posted by Ify. There is no denying that Ghananians amoungst others are living in Nigeria but the topic at hand is that there is an increasing trend in Nigerians fleeing to Ghana and other countries. Why don't you just deal with the topic instead of trying to get somewhere by stating that Ghanaians are also in nigeria.
