Investment › Re: It Is Taking More Than A Month For Ecobank To Create My Account by afolakemi: 8:22am On Jun 28, 2020 |
...Seriously, this is shocking o. Please have you reported this issue to them via their email - ENGcontactcentre@ecobank.com , Twitter - @ecobank_nigeria or Facebook - EcobankNigeria? Can you send your phone number and name let me get somebody that can assist. Vers4Gideon: more than month now, I've been trying to create an account with eco bank. I walked up to a branch here in Ilorin - to one of their costumer care representative who took all My details. So, I told the Rep that I need a MasterCard at the end of the registration then he said if I must get a MasterCard, My account will take a lot of time before it will be ready for use even after it is created. and it will still take some other times again before my card will be ready. so, on this note he then said that I should bring #2000 so that My card will not be too delay, which I latter paid him. After almost 2 weeks of frequent calls from me, he sent me an account number with his own phone number. from here I started doubting if this Rep is not fraudulent - is it not that the number will be sent with the bank's name or number? So, I tried to test the number sent to me, it brought My full account name. Now I'll need to wait till eternity, when My account will be ready for use because as I tried to ask, up to how many days will that be, but I'm shuck when he said he have no idea at all as to when My account will possibly be ready let alone My card. So, I need advice because right now, I'm perplexed if this man has not just taken advantage of d fact that I needed a MasterCard. what should I do? I'm planning to write a letter and walk up to their bank manager to lay this complaint. or truly I needed to understand something. please I need urgent reply. |

Business › Re: Before Banking With Ecobank, Check This... by afolakemi: 8:59pm On May 01, 2019 |
peacemara54: Good evening Nairalanders. Am really having a big hard time with Ecobank. I don't understand this bank. I register with this bank, far back, 2013. It has been 6years now. This problem started last year but I just continue to manage and endure their poor services coupled with bad customer-care relation.
As a business man, I do receive deposit into my acct almost everyday. I noticed, I do receive alert but this alert keep deducting my balance with a shortage of 40,000. For example, Acct balance is 100,000. I receive a deposit of 20,000 and the total balance should be 120,000 but Ecobank will send alert of #80,000.
Have complained, times without number still, no visible solution. The worst part of this is that; my statement of acct keep showing the accurate balance am having but for alert messages, 40,000 always deducted. And I can't withdraw more than what I receive through alert not what is in my acct balance. I still don't understand why a whole pan Africa bank will continue to handle customers transactions this way and they seems not to have a solution to this problem at the moment.
All deposit to my account normally takes two days before Ecobank effect this deposit.
Now, am having 26000 in that account. I can't even withdraw this money. I complain to my bank. I was told my balance is 1, 375.00 My statement of acct, shows 26000 as at yesterday and this bank keep telling me I can't withdraw due to insufficient balance.
I will get this money with any legal means known to me. Even though , its small but I won't leave it with Ecobank
Ecobank is really bad. They can't handle multiple deposits without a mistake in the acct balance..
Am out to get my money by fire by force. Really? My opinion is that you should reach out to them via any of the following channels. Twitter - @ecobank_nigeria, Facebook - EcobankNigeria, Instagram - @ecobank_nigeria. I am sure they will attend to your query ASAP. |

newsentryportal: Tattoos are not uncommon among celebrities but in the world of soccer 8years ago, it wasn’t rampant. Down the line, many footballers are now tattooing their bodies. Although it is a free world, I wonder what the motive behind such paintings all over the body or part.
In World Cup 2018, we have seen so many players of different national teams with all sort of drawings over the body. Talented Lionel Messi isn’t left out. Years back, Messi looked clean and wasn’t keeping beards. But suddenly everything changed. Some referred to it as “join bad gang.”
Messi isn’t the only big name in football that has a tattoo all over the body. Neymar of Brazil alongside some of his teammates also has numerous drawings all over their bodies. Do anyone else also noticed that many players in this World Cup Russia 2018 has drawings in their body either whole or part? The question is why do they tattoo their body?

Business › Re: My Experience: Why Is Ecobank So Classless? by afolakemi: 10:56am On Jun 29, 2018 |
Slimdoug: Since this morning, I've been dumbfounded by the total lack of class by Ecobank Nigeria. I mean, I've operated accounts with several banks in the country, but my experience with this one just gets me dazed every time I think about it.
If it was not because I live and work at a location where Ecobank is the closest bank and ATM by proximity, and my need to move cash easily, I wouldn't have dreamt of even visiting the bank not to talk of opening an account with them. So, on a fateful day, I visited the branch and made enquiries about opening a savings account. I was directed to the Account opening section where I met just one person, a woman, who gave me the list of requirements needed to open the account. So, I dashed out the bank, homewards, got the requirements and then back to the bank in just about 30 minutes. The time reads 1:52pm. I went straight to the account opening section to continue the process, but there was no one there. Went back to the customer care to ask about the account opening manager's whereabouts, but was told to wait because she went for a break.
So, there I sat. Patiently. Waiting for the woman to return from her break. Waited some 40 minutes more and asked the customer care again. This time was told to still wait, but rather harshly. I could have been at work, but I kept my calm still. Waited some more and the time reads 3:15pm. Again, I asked the customer care about the woman's whereabouts, but this time, they were fed up and started to ignore me. Note that this is me with my money coming to open an account that will obviously profit the bank and pay its staffs, but no one in this bank seem to have the required nous to deal with customers appropriately. Heck, the account opening section of the bank; a department that is meant to bring more business to the bank has no staff to attend to individuals and businesses willing to trust the bank with their money!
By this time, I knew I wouldn't be able to get back to work. The time was already reading quarter to four and the customer care reps couldn't care less. I went out of the bank, talked to the security and asked him about the account opening manager's whereabouts. The security helped searched for the woman who supposedly went on a break, but to no avail. By this time, I had already searched twitter for Ecobank customer care Whatsapp number and sent them a message on Whatsapp about the issue I'm having at one of their branches. No response. The security man came back and told me bluntly that the woman had gone for marketing. Hey!
Ok, what do we do now? I don't think I would have the time to come to this bank again o. The security man then offered to let the customer care reps know that the woman in charge of account opening had stepped out for marketing. They then printed out an account opening form, which I filled and then left the bank.
Fast forward to 5 days later, I got a response from Ecobank's Whatsapp number asking how they could help me. this is 5 days after sending them a message. Talk of more classlessness. You wouldn't imagine how baffled I was. I deleted the message with no response since I didn't need it any more. Then 2 days later, I got a call from the bank. That is, 7 days after filling an account opening form. 7 days. And surprisingly, they weren't even calling me to let me know that my account was active. They were calling to ask for directions to my house for inspection. Boom! I gave up.
Then 3 days later which was last Friday(10 days after filling their account opening form), I got an sms congratulating me about my shiny new account with ecobank! Welcome to Ecobank, the Pan African Bank ! And that was quickly followed by a call on Tuesday asking me to deposit money into the new account. I promised I would deposit some cash on Wednesday, but couldn't go to the bank due to some busyness. But alas, this morning, being Thursday, I got a call again from the same Ecobank, but this time with a full dose of complete classlessness. The caller was threatening to close my account if I didn't deposit some money in it ASAP. And this is just 4 business days after getting a message that the account was now active. Seriously, I don't know what to feel right now because I'm beyond shocked as well as amused by this total lack of organisation and classlessness by Ecobank. Guess I'll have to stay away for now.
Modified: For those asking me to contact the bank again, I think I've given up on the bank already. The last straw was when the bank called me on Thursday threatening to close the account if I don't deposit in it ASAP. I was trying to explain why I may not deposit in it soon since the main transaction that prompted me to open the account in the first place has already been done with another bank while waiting for Ecobank to activate my account; and then boom! they cut the call on me. That's when I knew I was dealing with an incompetent bank, and that was it for me. SMH for them, last time I had an incident, they responded to me via this email: ENGcontactcentre@ecobank.com . You can try it too. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How To Identify Genuine Job Invites by afolakemi: 1:01pm On Dec 02, 2016 |
Qummie: While some people are trying to earn a honest living from legal jobs, a particular set of people (let’s call them job scammers) are trying to swindle unsuspecting graduates of the little they have.
These are some fool-proof to ascertain the genuity of job mails. 1. SENDER’S EMAIL:
No legitimate firm will send out an interview invite with an “@gmail.com” or “@yahoo.com” email address. All organizations have their own customized email address(es). Something like vacancies@nairaland.com would be legitimate as opposed to nairaland@yahoo.com
2. “TO” DETAILS:
Just below the mail subject, view details and see how many people the mail was sent to. If there’s any other email asides yours, just run for the sake of your life and wallet. ONLY scammers send “interview” invites in bulk. No sane organization does that. Once you view details and you find several other email addresses as receivers, it is scam. Period! 3. COMPANY LOGO
“Most” legit organizations include their logo either above or below the body of the mail. Not all organizations do this but very many do.
4. SALUTATION
If a job invite is legit, then the company sure has the name of who they are looking to meet. A legit opening would be; “Dear (your name)” as opposed to an orsinary “Dear”, “Hi”, etc.
5. BODY
“Thanks for your application for the post of “customer care agent”, we would like to schedule an interview.…(legit).
‘In response to your application, you have been invited for a “career talk”‘….(Not legit). What the hell is a career talk and how will that put food on the table? Notice also that in the non-legit one, the position you allegedly applied for wasn’t stated. (Epic fail). These are the kind of invites you honour and at the venue prospective drivers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, all take the same aptitude test.
6. PHONE NUMBERS
I’m not sure if legit organizations include contact numbers in mails but one thing i know for sure is that if the need to include a phone number arises, it won’t be a personal contact detail. In other words, it would be for more, Mari Williams and Co ltd: 0009875, 008765. . Not call Mike on 08765 or call Angel on 00433.
There are several other ways to ascertain the genuity of job invites but these are the ones I’ve discovered work for me. If you have other fool-proof tips, kindly share in the comments section.

Ask staff to adorn company logo and work on their otherwise work free day and not compensated is slave labor.
If ecobank wants to be taken seriously about their care for the environment, they should invest some of their own money in the endeavor. I am sure you don't understand what you are writting.
