AfonjaFula: Actually, this comment happens to be a very true insights that I came across early today. Alliances against no alliance. Well, what do I know.
Not really about telling how powerful a country as Russia may be, but considering an entire Europe forming an alliance against one. In a state like Nigeria, you hear people make comments like -Igbo is the problem. When you here about South Africans hating on Nigerians it's them blah blah blah etc which is in a way true but the Igbos will in respond now call this jealousy. Anyways...
Bk to the might show, checking through pre-67, 67, and post Nigerian 67. Present day Obidients vs Obituaries etc.. Is Russia actually that powerful or what? |

Politics › Re: I Hope Ijaws Learn From Russia Ukraine Crisis Not To Hold Ethnic Igbos by AfonjaFula: 6:12pm On Sep 22, 2022 |
AlexBells: The situation in Ukraine is very similar to that between us Igbos and Ijaws we were all together in Eastern Region and perhaps someday, Nigeria regrettably seize to be united, I know for sure that it is very unlikely that Ijaws and Igbos would form one country despite sharing Eastern Region, first Opobo would get same treatment like Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2024, only this time it would be Igbos doing it.
Bonny would most likely get the Donbass Region treatment maybe true a peaceful referendum or a sham one like Russia is about doing in the secessionist regions. If Russia conducts that Refendum and those regions vote to join Russia which no one can interfere becuase Russia has earlier seized the territory, it means Russia has same obligations to protect those regions same as mainland Russia. That obligation includes the use of nukes, that's however a story for another day.
The summary, I'm an observer in the Russian Ukraine war, not taking much of a side but I can see similar situation playing out in Eastern Nigeria between the Igbos and the Ijaws, it would be in their best interest to leave out Ethic Igbo groups out of the Ijaw Republic or Niger Delta Republic, the major reason why Russia is succeeding in winning the people of the secessionist regions is becuase they are ethnic Russians. I hope the Ijaws learn, this is not a threat to war nor a plea for peace, it is the maxim. True talk I must say, true talk here |

Nosayer: This over-bloated sense of importance is the reason why ignorant folks like this op keep attracting hatreds to the Igbos.
Igbos found a booming city where they can make quick money and they migrated there in droves, yet you're saying you made the city what it is.
If it's too difficult to read history, why not just look around for videos to show you what Lagos looked like in the 1900s when your own ancestors were still fighting themselves in their huts?
This guy should just be ignored for sanity sake. I think he's one of the SS3 boys lucky enough for an uncle to get him one palasa phone. Instead of doing his assignment with it, he's ranting here on Nairaland attracting hatreds to the Igbo race.
Lagos is the New York of Nigeria with residents from all parts of the country and probably the city with the largest number of expats. If Igbos leave for any reason, there are many other people to fill up the space (for their own economic benefit of course) Ok |

Yes that Igbos are it's attracting market etc. For instance, visiting a lonely S/S city like Uyo, you do discover the only busy/bubbling areas are the markets. Remove that, Uyo is a mere desolate landscape. Truth bro |

AfonjaFula: I won't say you don't know Igbos as much, but know this that other than the SW's single Lagos state, Igbos can singule handedly in fecouple of independent years, make out immediate first world cities, out of Aba, Onitsha, Asaba, Owerri, PH that's far much better than the overglorified this Lagos is today and in future. Lagos can feed the entire nation for years comfortably. Yorubas should guard their Lagos with their every blood. stuffs4me: The story was written by a southerner with a biased mind against northerners.
The northerners had a different account of what happened at the time.
The British was trying to subjugate the Muslim north while favouring a Christian south but they had to re address the situation when they found out it was leading to disaster as the northerners had sensed the plot. Which explains why there were hardly any Muslim south being commissioned at the time.
cc: AfonjaFula Must say, this my first of ever viewing this point, but I disagree with instances of Tafawa Belewa, hence, the PM would had being given to a southerner (Azikiwe/Awo) |

VandalSavage: 4. I didn't say the east was underdeveloped,I said the West was more developed than the east which everyone knows
If the Igbos own Soo much infrastructure in the West, why can't they do the same in the east..(clown talk )
5. The rest Yes everyone knows/it's common in everyone Nigerian born psych *LAGOS. Anyone knows and will just say Lagos. And cannot be denied, it's the most developed Nigerian city ... now on who's territory, the Yoruba, so, the automatic glory, even though it's development started with the Europeans since it became a crown colony, but no qualms on that, not any. However, do you know the bad side this has brought the Yorubas or should I say, also caused by them is putting their all in same Lagos and abandoning their other cities. Just like the above common Nigerian psychology, ask any about the north, he won't say Niger etc, automatically what comes to mind will be Kaduna, Kano. Ask about the S/S you will immediately hear PH, then the southeast, you get Onitsha, Aba, Owerri and Enugu and as funny as it is, even with all the bad status of Aba, it still makes the headway. Now, compare development and come again, you get Lagos (I get to wonder, why no one accredicts Abuja to the north *cause it's perserved a capital, almost like defunct capital -Lagos) but cause the southwest has no other pride to present, even in other Nigerians mind it have stuck with Lagos that you gonna be crazy comparing other places that Seaport locked PH or Calabar with it -no qualms. I think that's why dudes doing all of this developmental comparisons, tend to take it out the gallery, letting the true statue of the face be seen without the makeup, or the body without the cloth -*sorry to say, like opening fowl nyash. And this disappointment beginning with Ibadan the Yoruba capital is truly shameful. |

Dubai was just a desert wasteland in the 1960's but today it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world. That's progress!!
It's even shameful to be glorifying a city that has remained stagnant over the years. I get am before no be property!! You know unlike Onitsha, it's an ancient and historic city. Thus we don't demolish the beauties . We can do that in Lagos |
