Davidif, you're right. white people love youssou, salif keita, ali farka toure and all those francophone western african artists. me myself, i can't stand p square and they will never go beyond africa. oliver d'coque is great. but, again not international.

white people love babatunde olatunji. but i don't know many 9jas who listen to him.  2face and p square- they try to sound jamaican! it's annoying.

But I feel maybe you hang around Yorubas more which may explain why you think Oyibos only know Yoruba music.
nope.
it's just something i've noticed for years. in college, lot of my white classmates in my music classes owned albums from yoruba artists and never heard of the classic igbo musicians. i just wanted to see if anyone had any insight or noticed the same.  cool

Christianity EtcRe: Pre-Marital Sex Is Not Fornication by africhika(f): 4:41am On Aug 31, 2009
sex is more than a physical action. it's a spiritual union. why would you want to be spiritually connected with someone other than your SPOUSEhuh

that's why many many married men/women still are still attached to the 1st person they had sex with b4 they were married. they formed a spiritual bond with that person and it brings trouble into the marriage.

sex is about 2 spirits uniting in a God-blessed union. why waste time creating such a strong bond with your boyfriend or girlfriend? wait and create that bond with your spouse.  wink
CultureRe: Why Do Nigerians Think White People Are Ugly? by africhika(f): 3:53am On Aug 31, 2009
white people just don't age well, period. look at a 60 yr. white woman and 60 yr. black woman. more likely than not, the black woman will look better because of her skin. also, black woman have a lot of natural beauty secrets to keep their skin nice. shea butter, black soap, and stuff.

leilah, i don't know who you're talking about. many many nigerian guys like white women. when they come to US, they want to be able to say they've dated a white woman.
but you can't expect everyone to worship white people. get over yourself.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Celebrate Birthdays? by africhika(f): 4:16pm On Aug 29, 2009
wow. what is wrong with waking up every morning and saying, "God it is by YOUR grace that I am alive" ??
what is wrong with marking one year and saying, "God it is by YOUR grace that I have seen another year" ??

honestly, why do christians keep trying to paint God as a mean fire breathing dragon!!!??  embarassed
CultureRe: Hip-hop Culture by africhika(f): 4:01pm On Aug 29, 2009
wow, those youtube videos were powerful.

hip hop started out with good intentions. i think rappers used to be the African American griots of contemporary society.
as griots are the preservers of culture, the speakers of truth, and the advocates for justice.

but now, hip hop is ridiculous. blacks have the power to do sooo much more.

but that's why you'd learn together, esp. if ur married. is it sooo idealistic to appreciate a guy has wants to learn about sex with his wife who's also a virgin? is that idea so shameful?  why is it imperative for the man to come with a bag of tricks and gimmicks? isn't the idea of the husband learning by trial and error how to satisfy his wife romantichuh
RomanceRe: Male Virgin- Ladies Posts! by africhika(op): 3:36pm On Aug 29, 2009
i'm finding these replies soo funny and interesting. but why can't virgin husband & wife learn together with one another? wouldn't that be a bonding experience? making mistakes, getting better and all that jazz

i went to a wonderful femi kuti/ sunny ade concert a couple weeks back. of course it was packed with white people. i talked with many of them and asked if they know osadebe, rex lawson, sonny okosun. they didn't know. but they asked me about lagbaja and babatunde.

this always seems to be the case. i remember seeing some white people at a 9ja wedding. bride was yoruba and groom was igbo. when DJ played sunny ade and fela, oh the white people were dancing, or trying to.  cool

but they left when osadebe and oriental brothers was played. even with contemporary nigerian hip hop/ r&b. why is this?

i'm hoping to get a response from other ladies interested in a guy whose a virgin.

it's funny how people who aren't virgins ALWAYS get defensive and say stuff like, "being a virgin won't make you the best husband/wife."  well, of course not, and no one ever said it would. HOWEVER, it shows you have set principles for yourself and stick to those principles. it also shows that you understand that sex is more than physical interaction. why else would a guy remain a virgin in this day and age? especially if he's attractive!
smiley cheesy

just throwing it out there!
