gamine, my younger sister HATESSSSSSSSSS locks but thinks she can deal with SLs. she's thinking about growing SLs (she's a permie) and taking them out after they grow long, so she can can go back to perming it. yeah, i know, she's funny. yoga anyone? anyone? |
no, i don't know of the ojishikamunna family. i know of my town's (Odekpe) royal family. |
hey, my parents gave the name "chikaodinaka." and every igbo i know say it makes sense. contact them ifyou have any questions. |
yes! lots of ladies have unlocked their sls. they just keep conditioning it for days until the locks unravel. you really don't HAVE to cut off anything. but, i may do that if i get bored with SLs. right now, it's my best hair decision ever. my texture is really soft with baby curls at the end. yeah, gamine i think we do have similar tresses. I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE ARE NO GUYS ON THIS THREAD! NO NATURAL GUYS ON NL AT ALL!! what a bummer ![]() |
a closeup of the texture. i LOVE sisterlocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it grows like weeds.

omonaija, we are the exact same size, 5'4 120lbs. d-baby, don't worry about being petite. your small size will make you look even better with short hair! go for it ![]() |
omonija, be sure to GO EASY ON THE TEA TREA OIL!!! i love it but can definitely dry out ur skin. use very little and not too often. maybe like 3 times a week. it's a very potent oil. |
gamine, do u think the plantain stuff is more effective than store-bought creams? |
quote by lipuka: clarification. quote by lipuka:great idea. i've heard this idea from several people now. tanzania and ivory coast has something like this. a continental effort would be beautiful. ivory coast did one for women who don't bleach, Miss Authentica: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8148719.stm |

oh my gosh!!! what?! |
society society society. white women wear weave sure but the weave looks like their natural hair. @tsiya, i agree 100% it's tooooo much. whenever i went to an event/party whatever at my university, the 9ja ladies had mountains of weave. it didn't suit them well at allllll. the AA girls also had weave but it wasn't so ridiculous. and most of the AA girls had wore their OWN permed hair. they just let it hang. it's not too common to find 9ja girls @ american universities with their own hair (permed, natural, etc.) |
quote from zara905:i hope this ^^^ is sarcasm. tyra is ok w/out makeup. tyra is just pretty. not crazy about her big hair either. naomi is a natural beauty. look @ her bone structure. she is BEAUUUUUTTTTTTTIFULLLLLLLLLL. my vote: naomi, naomi, naomi. she's so stunning and chic. but of cos, her attitude sucks! |
she needs to that bleaching causes skin cancer. does she have acne scars she may be trying to get rid of? and bleaching ain't cool. no matter the age. |
hi yafa!! what is co-washing? gamine, i wanna know all about this plantain-honey thing! it's for the face?? |
i looooooooooovee solange's haircut. she looks stunning. |
