I wasn’t really a fan of BBNaija until this season, the first week watching it, I almost got addicted. The problem with watching BBNaija is that It’s a round-the-clock reality show and you won’t know exactly when it gets interesting and the time to watch it.
If you’re extremely less busy, you could watch it all the time, for busy developers like me, I can’t stay glued to my screen. I got unfinished tasks crying for help already.
So I thought of an app that could notify you whenever things are getting interesting and when you should actually tune in and watch. I shared the idea with Max(my friend) and boom, we begin planning.
We didn’t have much money to start buying servers and stuff, I’m the technical guy, he’s the business/product guy so basically, I’ll be doing all the tech-related stuff, luckily for us, I’m an android developer and backend software engineer (PHP, Nodejs).
We started planning that evening, blah blah blah, the following day, we started building.
We initially wanted to build the MVP in 1 week but we needed something awesome and fast, Digital Ocean came to mind, I wasn’t really interested in setting up a goddamn Digital ocean droplet(also called EC2 on Aws) so I kept looking for the fastest way to get a server…. Boom Heroku.
Heroku works for a quick deploy, push and scale infrastructure. Moving on, we needed a database, It’s way easier to get the database working on Digital Ocean so I just created a MySQL database cluster on Digital Ocean. Linked our Heroku app with Digital Ocean and boom, backend server implementation began.
4 days later, We felt the need to start showing videos on highlights. We added a section called highlights on the app that shows highlights of things happening inside the Big Brother house. We needed to show videos, We can’t store videos on our Heroku server, that’s bad implementation, I thought about Cloudinary. Cloudinary provides cloud-based image and video management services. It enables users to upload, store, manage, manipulate, and deliver images and video for websites and apps.
After integration, we made a prediction of how many videos will go into Cloudinary and the cost for the premium plan, the cost prediction was huge, We had to look for another way. How did I forget Digital Ocean Spaces lol, it is similar to Aws S3 buckets and way cheaper. Eventually, I integrated Digital ocean Spaces which will serve as our storage system for videos. The integration uses aws-sdk (npm package) so basically, it’s compatible with Aws S3 buckets.
We added a couple more features like Voting, where I did something on sorting (Insertion sort) for sorting housemates based on the number of votes, popularity, and number of fans. It also calculates votes in real-time.
What else? Max(Product guy) wrote the privacy policy, and we uploaded it on Google Playstore, and boom, Playstore said, “Not today”.
We had a major issue with UGC (User Generated Contents) because we added a feature where people get to post stuff about BBnaija on a timeline. After 2 days of submission and inshallah, It got approved and finally, we are good to go.
Anyways, this is a project we did for fun, voting is not official, zero ads, zero monetization strategy, just cruise
Things yet to be implemented:
1. Caching 2. Rate limiting 3. Moving to AWS EC2 or Digital Ocean droplets 4. Load balancers 5. A bunch of other things backend wise

Well student visa was in my plan as I wrote the GRE earlier one this year but combining it with work and salesforce wasn't easy so I dropped it to focus fully on salesforce and just being a better programmer. People are getting sponsored and countries are laxing work visas for programmers now unlike other fields.

Salesforce is just an application or better I say it is a platform. AI is behind using it efficiently. This is why AI is powerful. It is not about app, but it is writing algorithms. It is why I said you dont understand it. You arent doing it to use it in Nigeria if you are looking for a job. See, sales force salary will drop very soon. But AI and Data Science will not stop in the next 10 years. Data Sceince might eventually drop, but AI will not, at least for the next 30 years. It may even be improved and something else comes up after it.
The thing with Data Science and AI is that they are so related. Even data science starts getting easier, they can essily port to writing algorithms too. These two skills are what are used to build the brain behind Salesforce efficiency sir. AI can be implanted in Salesforce to make it better. Salesforce is a platform which can go down anytime.
AI can be implemented anywhere and everywhere.

Create a Facebook fan page, Instagram fan page, a web page showing your works and some other contents within your field.
Join various groups (Facebook) within your niche, and be an active member. Research on Facebook, check if they have it but if not, then come out with your Facebook group page by giving it a name like "web developer in Nigeria " or "web developer in Lagos " or "web developer in Michigan" . Now, when you are able to boost your page, the people who joined your group are either clients or web developer. This makes you have future leads....
Facebook ads can be crucial, so you might need to pay Facebook in other for them to boost your pages.

Ps: if you say you are good at what you do, go on YouTube and create videos, with time, you will get leads from different sources. YouTube came up with "YouTube short", take advantage of their algorithm which can help push your videos to a greater audience.

Its accuracy according to my estimation is 85%, mehn i have used it to raise small cash o, my question here is do u think that there is a future for such softwares?

I am a student in a Nigerian University and as such was attracted to Kuda Bank because of their so called ease of banking and free withdrawals and money transfers. Unknown to me I was walking into one of the biggest scams in the country.
I have been banking with Kuda for months now and everything went smooth until I had to factory reset my phone because It was developing so problems ( normal to android users). After the rest KUDA hit!
I was expecting my rent money as well as feeding money that week. After the rest I tried to log into my account but it said my password was incorrect ( it wasn't oh!) After three trials I decide to use the "Forgot Password" option ( I must have forgotten the password I thought to myself ) I was asked to input the email address I had used to open the Kuda Bank Account which I did and it said they would send me a "password reset link" to my email. At least from their I can change my password and regain access to my account. The email never came! Its been over 2weeks now !
Not a day passes that I don't try to log into my account or do the password reset! Till today no email and I still can't log in !
My landlord is on my neck! And I have eaten any good food !
Now these are the things I've discovered in the past weeks that has lead me to the conclusion that KUDA BANK is a Fraudulent Scheme!
1. Their customer care line 09032200350 rings endlessly without someone picking it up! What kind of legitimate business doesn't attend to its costumers and just let's their phones ring without ever answering it ? Please Nairalanders let us call that number until someone picks up!...
2. I have sent complaint emails detailing my predicament and for two weeks I haven't received a reply! Kuda bank being an "Online Bank" shouldn't have any problem replying emails from customers if they had nothing to hide!
3. I left a review on the KUDA BANK app on google play store . stating my challenges using the app and within a few minutes my review was deleted. Most definitely by KUDA BANK in a bid to get more people into their net !
Using Kuda Bank has turned out to be my worst decision in life and this scam couldn't have happened in a worse time !
Please you do not have to go through what I am going through! Be wise and DO NOT bank with KUDA BANK.
