Politics › Re: DSS Gives Families Of Missing Officers 250,000 For Burial, Without Their Bodies by Afrocentric: 3:16pm On Nov 02, 2016 |
emmalezy: After over one year of sorrows, pains and false hope, The DSS has finally alerted the wives of missing DSS officers that their husbands died as heroes in the line of duty. On sat, 29th of October, The DSS gave each of the families 250,000 as their own support to go and bury their husbands, who according to them died as heroes in the line of duty. When they asked about their bodies, they were told that they can't locate their bodies. The minister of information once said that most Nigerians spend up to 100,000 on a bottle of Champagne, so we ask, if the lives of these fallen heroes as they said,is worth only about two bottles of Champagnes? We pray and hope the families gets all their due benefice as they wallow in their pains.
Note: Seven DSS officers went on a mission to rescue the kidnapped Wife Of Sun Newspapers Deputy MD on the 15th of September 2015. Since then up till now, no word or any form of contact from the 7 of them, while the woman was released two days later by the kidnappers.

Business › Re: Despite Recession, Business Is Good In Nigeria, Says US Firm by Afrocentric: 7:37am On Oct 16, 2016 |
Ahmadgani: An emerging high-tech mobile phone manufacturing giant, Akyumen Technologies Corporation has given the Nigerian business environment a clean bill of health inspite of the current economic challenges facing the country. The United States-based company which is at present exploring ways to establish base in the country, disagreed with the notion that foreign firms are scared of coming to invest in Nigeria due to the economic down-turn.
Rather, the 32-year old Chief Executive described those pulling out or those who are afraid to operate in the country as not being fair or probably may have been in the business of shortchanging Nigerians. Speaking on the company’s plan to introduce various ranges of telecommunication products into the country’s market, the Chief Executive of the firm, Aasim Saied said some of the devices can be used to improve learning and to empower the young ones with useful skills. “We want to create jobs in any country that we go and we also want to train personnel in the highest possible customer service expertise so that they can be at home with the technology we offer.” He said the firm will introduce 50 per cent subsidy for students in selected primary and secondary schools in the country as part of its social responsibility to support education which they benefited from. He said currently Akyumen Technologies is partnering 25 universities and colleges all over the world in the use of its innovative devices for academic exploits. Akyumen Technologies started up in the state of California, United States of America. “We are a company with great commitment to our social responsibility. In addition to creation of jobs, we will also want to encourage a lot of start-up businesses. One of the things that we intend to do is to install our computers in educational institutions in the country.” We are in the process of setting up offices in Nigeria, either Lagos or Abuja. “In line with our desire to establish base in Africa, we are going to set up our headquarters in either Lagos or Abuja and arrangements to that effect is being perfected,” he said. On the issue of local content, he said the company is going create a lot of local jobs by allowing more local content in the devices. According to him, although most of the components of the mobile phones and other devices are at the moment going to be imported, but that there will a lot of local inputs in area of content creation for the computer applications and software development. Speaking on the possibility of partnering various sectors of the economy, he said there are huge opportunities to be tapped in collaborating with Nollywood film industry. He said Akyumen has a lot to offer to the local film industry in the area of application of latest technology to improve the content and knowledge of the professionals in the industry. Unlike the practice where some foreign companies try to turn Nigeria into a dumping ground for their finished goods, the US firm said they are here to stay in the country to do more business and also to empower more entrepreneurial development.

Politics › Re: DSS Raids And Arrests 2 High Court Judges In Abuja And Gombe (photo) by Afrocentric: 9:46am On Oct 08, 2016 |
HungerBAD: Very interesting.
The DSS will not move against these Judge's,if there are no proof of them collecting bribes.
These are Judges, and not ordinary Nigerians. So for the Security men to publicly move against them this way, would show they have gathered tangible evidences.
The Judiciary is the most protected Arm of any Government, and I hope to God the DSS are sure of what they are doing.
If these Judges have been compromised, then the National Judicial Council should not only Debar them, but they should be jailed for a long time for bringing the legal system to a disrepute.
I stand with the fight against corrupt Judges.
--Modified-
Just read that Governor Wike, after hearing these two Judges were getting picked up,personally drove to another Judge's house in Port-Harcourt and prevented the DSS from picking the Judge up.
-How did Wike know that Judge will be picked by the DSS?
-What made Wike know instinctively that the Government will be interested in that Judge?
-Why would a Governor race in his Pyjamas(heard they brought clothes for him to wear later) to prevent the DSS from picking the Judge,if he has nothing to fear?
Summary.
I think the Judiciary has a very corrupt cabal, that sells Judgement to the highest bidder, and the DSS just rounded all of them up this night.
If it is proven that Wike, just like others influenced this Judge's with bribes to retain the Governorship seat, then his matter will be revisited by the law.
And I think that is why he ran nearly naked,to the judge house to prevent the DSS from taking him away. you are a proper mumu, is Wide not the chief security officer of the state? |
