Greed.

Nigerians have irrational desire for quick money so that they can call it grace.

Immediatly the last ponzi scheme crashed, there were people queing to engage in another one.

At that point, they didn't care if it is the same company rebranding.

They just wanted to cash out as they believed that they would be among the lucky ones before it crashes.
But shey them dey use machine to clean their memory ni?
After all the noise about this Ponzi scheme dies down another Ponzi scheme will rise up within 2-3 years and people will fall again.

Just read your past statement. It seems there is an element of wickedness added. They know it’s fraudulent but want to cash out before it crashes and leave others hanging.

Greed being the keyword. You're not Forex trader but you believe that AI will trade for you and double your money before the week ends. You see people crying about sportybet and Bet9ja and you believe the betting system will use your money to bet and return it in 10 gold by the next week. Funny people grin grin
You are right. Greed is the foundation of such issues. It will make the illogical seem logical.

I think it’s fatigue plus Martinez’s incompetence. He played him out of position with no runners in the forward line. Portugal’s campaign on a whole was bad. That’s why Bruno isn’t the only underperforming one. bitinha and co also sucked.
Fatigue catch nearly all the Portuguese players but e no catch players from other countries? Hehehe

I can’t illustrate how rubbish Martinez is as a manager. He is the killer of dreams. LOL

Ibime, this is a shocker. You don't need to rate Brazil highly to know this is an upset.
Not an upset. This Brazil squad is not good and their coach is an executive coach who handles star players well but does not really improve players.

Checkout Norway’s record over the past couple of years.

Yeah, that Quinones guy is Saudi league's highest goalscorer with 33 goals from 31 league appearances. He's been outstanding for Mexico and will most likely score more if England dull themselves.

Jimenez may be a static player, but he won't hesitate to convert any half decent chance that presents itself.

I see the whole altitude excuse as an acknowledgement of fear even before the match proper. The moment the host nations were made known years ago, every team ought to know they would definitely play in such temperate condition if they plan to lift thr world cup.

Let the English team face their fear and quit nagging about what cannot be changed abeg.
The altitude issue is not a mere excuse but a biological fact. The highest stadium for an EPL club (or ex-EPL club) in England is 168m above sea level. The Azteca stadium is 2.2km above sea level. That is about 2km higher up in the air and about 20% less oxygen per breath.

They are undefeated in 10 World Cup matches in that stadium for a reason. England’s players are better by far but if they phuck around in that physical and emotional atmosphere they will find out.

Mexico vs England supposed sweet normally.

If Tuchel no use him sense, Mexico go do them strong thing and they will be out of the world cup by daybreak tomorrow.

Jimenez and the the black guy who play as strikers for Mexico dey really worry ; I'm rooting for them.
Even if Tuchel use sense e go hard for them.

The Mexican team is playing well and the Mexican home support is always immense at the Azteca. Finally, that is one of the highest stadiums in the world in terms of altitude. If the English don’t finish them off in the first half, banana fit turn iron in the 2nd half.

Kane, Rice and co fit turn to Fidimi FC. 😂

There has been underground feud between the two parties ( Gbaja and Adeyemi) that led to Adeyemi 's arrest in October 2025 (According to Bayo Onanuga's account of the matter)

Adeyemi was allegedly arrested October 2025, based off the petition from Femi Gbajabiamila's office, he was charged to court in November and the hearing will come up this July ; 27th July 2026 precisely.

When Adeyemi was arrested then he claimed Gbaja got him the position same Gbaja was calling "fake" and mentioned the name of a certain Dolapo Tanimola as the proxy who not only served as go-between him and Gbaja to facilitate his appointment. Somehow the Dolapo Tanimola guy died in hotel fire few days before Adeyemi was arrested after Gbaja petitioned police to arrest Adeyemi.

PS: None of these things made it to the media until recently when Gbaja issued a public disclaimer distancing himself from Adeyemi and calling him an impostor. Gbaja made the disclaimer 11th of June 2026.

So last week towards the end of June 2026, Adeyemi sat in front of camera to do a full chest call out of Gbaja by accusing him of taking 400m from him through the late proxy for securing him that "appointment". He decided to scatter the table seeing Gbaja was out to throw him under the bus.

Adeyemi then threw a lot of things into the public like telling the public to ask how the agency Gbaja claims does not exist happens to have 1.3 billion allocated for them in the 2026 budget. He urged the public to ask Gbaja and those calling him impostor to explain how his agency happen to operate a TSA account with CBN, operate an office at the federal secretariat, how's been able to have high level meetings with leadership of the two federal houses of assembly, etc.
That’s a really convoluted mess. At the minimum there needs to be a congressional panel of inquiry set up to get to the bottom of the matter.

Gbaja probably should step down while someone acts in his place pending the conclusion of the inquiry.

Adeyemi allegedly being a scam artist does not exculpate Gbaja.

if the EPL teams are christening insanity under the guise of naming a price for their midfielders, there's nothing wrong shopping outside.

the best performers post-Ferguson era for Man United have mostly been from outside the league anyways.
this guy could go on to become Xavi Hernandez. cool we will agree that he's one that got away, but even if he was signed and offered such wages what will the board offer him on renewal three years from now, assuming he actually becomes Xavi?
and what if he proves to just be another body, how do we move him on? he's less than 22.

if we do not look too far into the future, what will be the effect of this on the squad?
it is a different atmosphere signing a Casemiro for big bucks. the squad can respect that.
why should Mainoo sit on his current wages? why should Bruno? these are at least 5x the player in ability and game dues. back to back relegation slumps but he's expected to rouse the mentality of the Spurs collection? now we are having comparisons with stat charts to Roy Keane. really? what is this? I wish them well of course, but please.

it is baffling as I've see meltdowns on fans' social media channels over this guy.
fs what's he done in the game??

even £100m Tonali, why and for what? his age, what else? he's the weakest link in that Newcastle's midfield judging by the last season. I'm absolutely amazed.
I understand your point of view but I am just stating the facts in ground. I hope the club has a good plan on how to improve be the midfield via scouting hidden gems or buying from outside the EPL.

If they think they will get any good EPL midfielder for a reasonable fee then they will be shocked to the bone.

When Elon Musk was dragging the south African president and the black south Africans in general, most of us on this part of the world saw Elon as a white supremacist/racist ( I don't even know if I still see him in that light or not at the moment)..... But with this whole anti migrant stand of the south Africans, one can see those guys don't even like their fellow blackman. Hate lives in their heart!

It's unfortunate they started the whole movement by claiming they are against migrants who are criminal; only for them to come out in the end that they want every immigrant out of their country. The same south Africans so many African countries stood by them to fight for their independence.

I saw a picture of their president meeting with the leaders of the anti-migrant movement and the whole thing looked like the government of South Africa is patting them on the back. It's just unfortunate.......

I hope other countries (particularly African countries) can go all out to make south African government and their investments in different countries pay reparation for the loss of migrants in south Africa.
The government can’t do too much cos they know that it is a misdirected attack. They are the ones that should be targeted by their people so they are probably thankful that foreigners are they’re to face the heat.

If they do too much the people will recalibrate and face them. They do not want that.

Regarding the focus of the protests, any anti-immigration protest is likely to morph into a xenophobic protest. Moderates might start it but extremists will hijack it. It is known.

when this club went down the stump up cash route, at least it was for players that were mostly already established, and we cannot even say it was a successful period.

dumping such amount and wages on players of Matheus Fernandes' levels will be an even bigger disgrace.
Unless you want us to focus only on non-EPL players.

When we were being fleeced and targeted by other clubs it was a disgrace but this situation is a little different.

Like I predicted, the Anderson deal has reset the market for EPL players (esp midfielders ) for this summer.

If we want to spend 60m on a midfielder it’s either we look outside the EPL or we go for a player much worse than Fernandes or an older player/soon out of contract player.

Newcastle are said to be asking for 100m pounds for Tonali.

All EPL clubs are experiencing the same issue. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price.

I will be patient and wait for the window to end before making a judgement but I am suspecting it will be another 1 step forward and 2 steps backward situation.

The transfer fee was the impact I meant. And since FIFA will now pay Ugarte's wages, that might help with Wage space but maybe Mount would be the one on the chopping block. I heard rumours of him being linked with Amorim at AC Milan. Although I doubt they'll take on his wages.
The problem is that we can only get peanuts for Mount. Nobody is buying him for significant money.

If INEOS are serious they have to cough up the money cos Arsenal, City, Liverpool are going to strengthen significantly this summer. I don’t want a repeat of the Glazers MO of one step forward and 2 steps back.

Looks like we cant sell Ugarte anymore this summer due to his serious injury. Hopefully he recovers well and can continue his career at a good level. I wonder how that will change the thinking of the midfield signings.
I don’t think it will change the number of signings planned because we were planning the season without him anyway.

The only issue now is that our transfer funds will be minus his expected fee. I hope the club just bites the bullet and replaces his expected fee with extra money from our coffers.

I Dey talk my own nah

If 2 people Dey same situation I go take 3 draws over 1 win
This is not Eleyele Cup. Before the tournament started the rules and regulations were known to all the teams including how 3rd placed teams will be ranked.

Points
Goal Difference
Goals scored
Fair play score
FIFA ranking

That is the order in which it was to be decided. 3 draws > 1 win is not one of the criteria and I have never heard of it in all my years watching football.

Iran lost according to the rules. Their goal was correctly ruled offside. They should try again in 4 years.

3 draws > 1 win? Where did you see that rule?

Goal difference, goals scored, head to head, fair play points depending on the rules for that particular competition na wetin I know.
