Most of the players we are rumoured to be signing will not be at World Cup.
I expect them to come in for preseason well rested, fit, and ready to go.

Typhoid is over diagnosed in Nigeria due to the utilisation of a serological test like Widal test.

Hypertension is the opposite. It is actually under diagnosed because Nigerians rarely go for routine regular checks unless they are unwell. There are many people walking the streets of Nigeria with dangerously high BP and they have no idea because they have not carried out checks.

There might be the odd case of someone being prescribed anti hypertensive medication inappropriately but the overall picture is one of under diagnosis.

Liverpool sacking Slot is actually bad news for us. With all the negativity and unhappy players in the dressing room the team was primed to implode next season with Slot in charge.

Now they might get a good manager who could get Isak, Wirtz, etc firing.

The only issue I have with Fernandes is his physicality. A midfield trio of Mainoo, Bruno and Fernandes isn’t physical enough for the EPL.

Anderson would elevate our physical levels but I’m worried about his consistency and price tag.

The 3rd person we get should be very physical.

In my mind our starting CM should be one out of Mainoo or M. Fernandes and another more physical CDM.

Fernandes and Mainoo should be competing for the No 8 position and we get a no 6. This makes the Ederson move a bad one.

I watched another video of Ederson today and even his highlights were worrying. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

I’m always cautious about paying hefty sums for players who haven’t replicated the same level of performance for years.

I think Fernandes is at the point where Anderson was about 2 years ago. If we can’t afford Anderson we might get something close to him with Fernandes.

The 3rd CM we get will then depend on how the club profiles Ederson, M Fernandes, and Mainoo. Do we add a pure defensive guy like Tchouameni or do we add another all-rounder like Tonali, Baleba etc.

The most important question though is how much money does the club have to spend. INEOS so far have been better at controlling the narrative on this compared to the Glazers.

I get that part, what I was expecting is that if there's a way the videos can be used to narrow down the search area within which security agents can trace and track them.

For example let's say they make a video deep in the forest in Ogbomoso and had to locate the nearest network cell tower to upload and send the video out on social media; can't security agents start tracking right from that moment and put into consideration the maximum distance the kidnappers can cover on foot with their victims within a specific time frame? At least they can guess they either move deep in the forests in Oyo state, Osun State or go as far as Kwara state forests. I mean can't they combine forensic analysis, common sense and security/detective skills to widen their search net and catch these guys ?

The whole thing just look as if our security agents are incapable of getting things done when it matters most. Or maybe it's because the people involved are not really VIP.

I remember the former Lagos CP Hakeem Odumosu's wife was kidnapped sometimes and the security agents eventually arrested her kidnappers after securing her release.

Is it a case of willpower?

With regards to the specific case of uploading videos, the ones uploading it do not have to be in the forest with them. The video can be sent privately to an accomplice in Lagos, Kano, or Accra who then uploads it.

That does not mean the security services should not be employing other measures to locate and capture them.

They are not stationary. They can kidnap people in Ekiti State and move through the bush to Ondo State and then Kogi.

The worry I have with Baleba is not his quality but his mentality.

If he intentionally downed tools at the start of the season because he was not able to join us that is a red flag.

If he truly lost form and focus because he was not able to join us that is a red flag.

Those red flags remain even if his true level is 24-25 and this 25-26 season was just a blip.

Bruno G is about to be 29 in November. Doesn't sound like a smart investment.

Yeah the age is an issue especially with the unwritten INEOS rule. But he is turning 29 not 33. We are 1 or 2 windows away from competing so a 28-29yr old is not as bad an idea as a few years ago when we were far off.

Anyway it does not have to be him. In a period where Liverpool win the league and followed it with a 400m pound window if we are not ready to spend 200m plus on that midfield then we are not ready.

the Real Madrid guy is not an option, primarily because Man United will not pay near 100m for a single player and secondly, I don't think he's all that. that's my view of his skillset.
Anderson is not considering us, which if we are to go by recent recruitment policy of going after only players who want to be here, rules him out as well. he's got one good season also, I didn't hear his stories last summer. will it be wise to take that expensive plunge?
Adam Wharton I think, lacks the agility and maybe stamina we need.
I was hoping we'd be hot on the heels of Bruno Guimaeres as the pl proven option this summer but it's seemingly all crickets on that front, at least so far.
Tonali will demand a fee I believe will make us walk away from the negotiations.

Anderson, Guimaraes, Tonali, Fernandes, Joao Gomez, Tchouameni.

I am not sure about Tchouameni’s passing and press resistance but he would improve our defending considerably.

This sounds like the exact way Ugarte was described before we signed him.

He is better on the ball than Ugarte. He is stronger physically than Ugarte.

I was certain Ugarte would fail. I have doubts about Ederson but not as sure about him.

I would personally have used that money on Fernandes. My hope was that we would buy 3 CMs this summer of which Fernandes would be the least accomplished. That would have raised the bottom level of our squad considerably.

I know that but we should be looking for an Ugarte massive Improvement than an Ugarte replacement.

We won’t get anywhere fast if we replace a shyte player with a slightly less shyte player.

I am hoping he proves me wrong. It is me that will suffer as a fan if we sign players that are not up to standard.

There are some basic principles of midfield play. Good 1st touch, ability to receive the ball on the half turn.

If you see a midfielder whose clips are mainly of him running though the opposition and his touch appears a bit loose the chances are that he will struggle in the EPL.

I hope Ederson succeeds here but I would have been happier with a more technically sound player.

I have always questioned the Ederson move. The time and space he has in Serie A won’t be available in the EPL.

There is a reason first touch terrorists like McTom and Rasmus look good in the Serie A. Even Ederson’s physical advantages that shine in the Serie A won’t be that obvious in the EPL.

2 ways to prevent this is to stop giving ridiculous contracts and to start winning titles.

Brighton played themselves. They actually wanted 100m for Baleba. They would be lucky to get half of that now.

West Ham are a relegated side. They bought him for 40m pounds and he still has 4 years on his contract so somewhere between 45m and 55m is still reasonable

Why you wipe the story

That was so long ago I can barely remember.

I think it was a short story about the life of a fighter pilot during the 2nd World War and how he spent most of his days in the cockpit of a Spitfire plane, hence the name cocksman.

Pump action is manual and its rate of fire is slower. It is probably more accurate though and has a longer range.

If you are hunting pump action is a good weapon to have.

In a combat zone though where the prey is firing back at you, rate of fire and reload capacity are overwhelmingly important. AK47 wins here.

A guy with pump action facing a guy with AK47 will feel like he is facing 5 men.

There was this black midfielder they had who played with Eusebio called Mario Coluna who was a serious chairman.
Only CR7, Eusebio, and maybe Figo are above him.
