The exchange isn’t even fair because the players that join you guys from our academies are far ahead on the development curve than whatever you guys give us.

Scanlon at 19 should have broken into your first team squad at least, especially when you consider he is already starting for Gibraltar. Oguneye looks like one that Arteta can actually transform but he is more of an attacking minded fullback (RB) than anything.

Scanlon’s deal is even more annoying to me because you guys retain 50% sell on clause which is madness!

You guys are running a secret biological program. How come Munoz is so big and skilled at his age? Just like Dowman.

Scanlon is a very intelligent player and very good finisher but he is not good 1v1 because of his physical limitations (not pacy or highly skilled).

His chances are low but still better than Ogunneye who I don’t really rate. He was our oldest of 3 U-21 RBs, and the worst.

This is a very good sign. It improved his chances of making it, not only in football but also in life. If his body keeps up, I see him becoming a top top player.

To do it while playing football basically at semi-pro level is very commendable.

Camacho is good. I have followed him even from the Under 16 team. He has potential as well but his best position is JJ’s best position. We will see how he develops.

The guy is also very brilliant. He scored 9 Grade 9s in his GCSE which is similar to getting 9 A1s in WAEC.

P.S Ajayi just came back from injury so he is just playing to get fit. I hope both he and JJ will be in the FA Youth Cup side though cos this set does not have explosive attacking players.

Regarding Thompson, I’m as confused as you. He cost us more than we sold some U21 talents.

Haha. I think he is the biggest attacking talent currently in the Under-21s after JJ. Last season he was the only one who could hold his own against JJ in terms of individual skill and wonder goals. All the others are mainly system players but JJ and Noah Ajayi have individual attributes that trump systems.

JJ’s qualities are obvious so I won’t dwell on him. For Noah Ajayi he is big, strong, fast, a good 1v1 dribbler, and shoot from distance, and finish with either foot.

His physical and technical profile are way better than his stats and I think he will adapt to 1st team football more easily than others cos of his size.

Now 5 goals in 3 apps. That move for the Leicester goal is purely instinct plus spatial awareness and fantastic technique. Quite commendable.

I also like how he’s not allowing himself to be bullied in the U-21s. Opponents try to rough him up but he’s up for the fight.

If we don’t enjoy him as a first team player (no one knows what will happen in the future), we have to get really really good money for him.

His quick brain and extremely high technical level means he does not get himself into too many physical battles. He is also very decisive in the box. He often already has the next 2 or 3 moves in his mind no matter how suddenly the ball gets to him. The instinct and spatial awareness are off the charts, and like you said, he usually has the technique to make those qualities count.

Only physical development or injury can stop him.

Noah Ajayi looked good on his return from injury. I would not be surprised if he made 1st team appearances this season. The Tynan Thompson signing at such a big fee is still a bit confusing to me.

JJG was massive yeah. Tynan Thompson had a filthy assist as well for one of the Fletcher kids. It was a good game.

I’d like to see how they’ll perform in tougher games. It was a good starting XI. Everyone (or 90% of them) has had some senior minutes at least in preseason if not in real competition.

It was a top quality performance by an ultra talented and very young squad. A few of them will need to go on loan soon in order to be challenged and develop better.

They all played well and the Fletchers in particular were dominant in midfield.

I think they will still do well in tougher games if the main players don’t go out on loan. What we are seeing now is the result of our recent quality Under-18 generations. A series of good Under-18 sets will eventually lead to good Under-21 performances.

I have been travelling for about 3 weeks now and have not really watched football. I saw extended highlights and the 2 that stood out were Jaime Camacho (CM/AM who also played RB at U-16s) and Junior Brown who played his natural LWF position ( he had to play on the right for most of last season cos of JJ and Ajayi).

* We are getting 2 highly rated midfielders from City ( Karim Cassim No 8 and David Eze No 6) but clearance will likely take months as usual.

Under-18s lost 1-0 today to City. The team played well but they lack firepower like I suspected.

JJ did not play (probably moved up to the U-21s for their Monday game. He scored a really nice goal for the Under-21s in a preseason game some days ago.

I hope the transition to the U-21s will be smooth for some of our guys. Talents die in that squad.

You are probably right. Development especially at that age is not linear. A 6/10 15yr old can become a 9/10 16yr old and vice versa.
Yeah Armer’s lack of pace is the main thing that could hold him back.

I hope to watch more academy footy this coming season. I have a feeling we’ll uncover another gem.

I am not so sure about our incoming 1st year scholars this season especially in the attacking areas. If Noah Ajayi and JJ Gabriel don’t play Under-18 this season we might lack firepower. Watch out for Ngwashi the CB though. He is more complete than Kukonki and Armer but injuries have set him back. If he has an injury free season it might be a big year for him.

I am more excited about next season. We have some exciting wingers coming up. 4 of them.

Scanlon is about 1m pounds what I read.

Over the past couple of years due to Brexit effect clubs in England have become aggressive about raiding each other’s academies.

So Noah Ajayi is rated that high? I didn’t watch academy footy that much last season. The glimpse I had of him in the final against City he looked a bit subdued.

That City squad no be beans. God knows how much they’re going to sell that Heskey boy— if he doesn’t break into the first team given that Doku is injured and Marmoush seems to be on his way out.

Reigan Heskey has already moved to Germany. Just under 2m pounds but potentially rising to 8m with add-ons. They also added buy back, sell on , and matching rights clauses.

Ajayi is moody and inconsistent. He can be quiet for 40 mins and then next thing he is dribbling from opposition half and firing a shot in from 30 yards. Scanlon is your consistent grafter but he just does not have Ajayi’s ceiling.

Hearing James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye are in talks with Arsenal. I’d prefer they move to teams where they have more chances of playing senior football.

I really liked Scanlon. How would you rate him vs Ajayi when he was still an U-18 scholar?

They are not the same level of talent just based on physical attributes alone.

Scanlon has decent technique and is one of the best finishers we have produced in recent years but lacks the speed, acceleration, or dribbling to excel as a winger at the senior level. A recurring issue with our academy players.

In the U-18s Scanlon was probably more productive but the eye test says Ajayi is the one with elite potential.

I think both Scanlon and Ogunleye are destined for the lower leagues but Assanal are signing them mainly for their Un-21s and plan to flip them for profit later.

Stage 4 cancer means the cancer has spread to distant organs. It is usually a terminal stage of cancer but how soon the end comes depends on the type of cancer, organs affected, and the baseline health of the person.

And yes a patient’s cancer can get to Stage 4 with either minimal symptoms or no symptoms at all. It is a final boss disease.

That was how they threw my boy Elyh Harrison to struggling Shrewsbury. Hopefully he learned a lot in that ancient town. Now they’ve thrown him into another struggling side in Scotland. Greenock Morton or something.

Cant we hire some of those guys at Chelsea? It amazes me how they get loans for their players and sell them for a fair profit later on.

Chelsea often prioritises physicality when scouting players into their academy from age 12-16 consequently their academy products integrate into senior football more easily no matter the situation.

We have a history of producing players with good technical level but poor physicality. Those kinds of players rarely have successful loans in the rugged lower leagues.

Regarding Ajayi, it’s either the club thinks they will lose him soon OR they think Tynan is way better. That is the only thing that explains such a large fee for another club’s prospect.
