Yes. That 2 man midfield will struggle against most top teams but it is the price you have to pay for playing Neymar.

The existence of Neymar makes that midfield option difficult. If Neymar wasn’t Neymar the move would have been to take him of for someone like Bruno Guimaraes.

You are right but as you said they are undroppable. Neymar is the person to be dropped actually. He can’t really play that LWF role like before anymore but if Tite takes him off and they lose he will be banned from ever going back to Brazil.

Cos right now Brazil is literally playing 4-2-4 while Croatia is playing a 4-5-1

The problem systemically is Neymar.

It is 3 vs 2 in midfield, and the 3 of Croatia can go toe to toe against any 3 man midfield not to talk of a 2 man midfield.

If Brazil wants to take hold of midfield they have to bring in an extra midfielder. The problem is who to take off, either Richarlison (with Neymar playing false 9) or Raphina (with Richarlison moving right).

Definitely. However you start with the worst of the lot. If by January VDB can’t show quality he needs to be offloaded. The McFred situation will most likely will be discussed in the off-season by which time we would most likely have new owners.

Because they put in good performances from time to time. McFred are good 50 percent of the tube but bad the other 50 percent. The problem is you can never predict if it’s good McFred or bad McFred that will appear.

VDB on the other hand is bad almost 100 percent of the time. So any minutes he gets are wasted minutes.

Finally, these academy players are very inexperienced and might not be ready to play the long minutes that McFred play but they are definitely ready to play VDB’s measly minutes.
