I like Potter but i don't want any British manager at this point. The truth is i don't any of the managers you and i listed will succeed with the dysfunctional structure at United.

How many games did VDB play for us for you to come to this conclusion? Please draw our attention to those games he was underwhelming...You seem not the appreciate the rhythm that comes with getting a consistent run of games. Imagine sitting on the bench for 6-7 games and then the coach selects you and other bench warmers to execute a dead rubber game, how then do you expect to get your rhythm going? Or a scenario where he comes on and does well to the approval of the fans yet he finds himself glued to the bench in the next match.

If you want to talk about players who have been given chances yet continue to underperformed then you should be talking Rashford, Martial, McFred, Maguire, Shaw etc and not VDB...

McFred and Maguire will struggle for 5 games and then finally have 1 good game and their supporters will be like " You see, we told you that the quality was there". VDB will struggle for 1 game and will not see any minutes for the next 5 games.

I don't know if VDB is good enough or not but i do know that he didn't get a fair shot.

Brighton play very good football. Their undoing most times is poor finishing.

What I don't understand and will never understand is why people want an interim manager to strip Maguire of the Captainship like it's going to change anything. It's change nothing! Absolutely nothing!

Let the new manager come in and choose his captain. No single person will complain. That's how it's done. Make next season reach, make we sabi who remain for club.

This actually explains your point of view better. Not that you don’t want Maguire stripped of the captaincy but that you don’t want it done now when a new manager might likely want his own captain in the summer.

It is a reasonable point of view but those that want him gone now also have valid points as well.

Neither position is ridiculous. What is ridiculous is those that say he should not be changed at all or claim he has been okay as a captain.

Rio was vice-captain deputising for G. Neville who was emeritus captain on the bench. When Neville finally retired Fergie gave it to Vidic on a permanent basis.

1) There’s no problem with a Captain not starting. It’s not the first time it’ll happen. Btwn it’s even a temporary situation till he gets back to ‘form’. Isn’t he the same player last season that a lot of us were attributing our loss in the Europa final to his absence. There are more than one leaders in a team. If he’s benched, then the assistant will wear the band till Maguire finds his way back into the team.

2) Those reports are definitely fake rubbish reports. Henderson is the leak according to a lot of sources. The fake media has mentioned Rashford, Lingard and Maguire in recent days. And it’s obvious it’s because they’re English players.

3) That interview was a mistake and poor on his part. But as usual, people are picking on little things and blowing it out of proportion. Should he have taken part of the blame and apologized for his part? Definitely!


Any reports of him losing the confidence of the players is just concocted stories by the media.

Someone that Rashford told to Bleep off on the pitch. The body language of several players on the pitch shows they have little regard for him.

The fans don’t believe in him. If you still do then you are in the minority.

The only non-starting captains we have had were old and about to leave/retire emeritus captains like Robbo, Dolly, Neville, Carrick who were also very senior members of the squad NOT a player meant to be at his peak in his 20s. If he is not good enough to start he should relinquish his place in the starting lineup and also give up the arm band.

Giving a newcomer with no winning or big team experience the arm band was a huge mistake. Persevering with it in the face of his obvious failings as a leader is another one.

I am not saying taking away the arm band from him would be a panacea to all our problems but you claiming you don’t understand why people want him demoted is disingenuous to say the least.

He has won nothing. He has proven nothing. He has been a poor leader so far and has also lost form. If he can’t play he should give up the arm band. It is not a hereditary title.

There's no one we can pick now that's not faulty. Except we wan give newcomer like Varane.

1) With Maguire’s current form he should not be a starter and that already is enough grounds to lose the captaincy. Most of the fans at home and even in the stands do not believe in him.

2) The reports are that he is the one leaking team news to his journalist friends. It may or may not be true but at this point it appears many players believe it and he has lost their respect.

3) He rarely takes real responsibility for his mistakes and is always pointing fingers. Like recently when he caused one goal conceded and cancelled the other goal by being offside, yet post-match he was focusing one us not scoring more than one goal I.e he was trying to blame the attack in order to deflect the attention from his own mistakes.

In summary he is an off-form player with no sense of responsibility who has lost both the belief of the fans and the trust of the players, and who is an alleged snitch.

I wonder why people don’t want him to be captain.

In terms of style Maguire is not a defender that suits Rangnick’s high-pressing high line pattern but benching our 80m pound England-starter club captain would be an indictment on the upper echelon of the club.

With regards to ten Hag or whoever the new manager would be, they need someone like Rangnick who knows football to be around and offer some support. Any manager who comes to the club solo will be overwhelmed by the incompetent board.
