Radek Vitek and Harry Amass doing well on loan. Ethan Williams and Ethan Wheatley doing okay as well.

We should stop buying mediocre squad players for 50-60m pounds.

It's so hard to find quality all-round players these days
There must be one deficiency or the other
They exist. It is about scouting and making the right choice. Players like Szoboszlai, Caicedo, Rice have no major weaknesses as CM even though they may or may not have a particular elite quality.

In a 4-3-3 because of the number of midfielders the weakness might not be exposed but in this 2-man midfield, whether the weakness is can't pass or can't run, it will be exposed quickly.

One thing I like about him is that he is so aware of his environment, he really knows how to pass and hardly losses the ball...
His passing and awareness is very good. Not just passing ability but decision making and choice of pass.

In a 2 man midfield the way we play it though his lack of elite mobility might be an issue. His partner has to have elite mobility.

If Heaven can play, why can't we draft in Chidi Obi seeing that our attack needs personnel?
1) Heaven and Obi are not the same person. You can’t just extrapolate from one to the other.

2) Heaven is a year older.

3) Lacey looks to be the person that has been drafted in.

Zirkzee, Cunha, Mount, Mainoo, Lacey for 3 positions. Bruno can be pushed forward in an emergency. Sesko might come back soon.

Obi has not been too impressive this season with the Under-21s so it might be better to keep him out of the spotlight for now.

But I used to think they do send the officers on trainings overseas in the past. Abi dem no dey do am again?

I think all those dem Buhari set were trained at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
I have no information about this but I suspect military regimes will prioritise such training compared to civilian regimes.

A civilian regime will be happy to allow the top generals send only a few majors to the expensive training courses while the generals pocket the change. A happy general is a safe general.

Just a far-fetched theory of mine.

Exactly why I hope a diplomatic solution to the problem is provided.

Let it not be that we are banking on past glory and rush into an unnecessary armed conflict that will impact negatively on our economic fortune.

Countries like Burkina Faso no really get much to lose like that if matters escalate into an armed conflict, we on the other hand have so much to lose at this time
Even if it does not become an armed conflict they need to review our military. The soldiers might be courageous and selfless but that is not useful in f the training and quality aspect of it are deficient.

Maybe the struggle against Boko Haram and co is not just due to lack of political will and enemies within.

Let's hope a diplomatic arrangement can be made made with the Burkinabes for our military men to come home.

But what is our military aircraft doing in Burkina Faso airspace? I thought it was Benin we had military intervention, not Burkina Faso
They need to assess the general combat readiness of our military and their overall quality.

All these little hiccups are suggestive of deeper problems.

It was a bad pass from Cunha, Bruno tried to even play the ball
Yeah. It was a really bad pass. But Bruno didn't have to fall like he was on an ice skating rink. The Bruno criticism was more for a very careless pass he made earlier when he was under no pressure and he spoiled a move by just mishitting a 10 yrd pass to an opponent.

We play very careless and loose football. That is why we struggle for consistency. Watch Assanal play and you see that they take every moment of the game serious like its a final. Our players develop serious headache and fever once they focus for more than 45 mins straight.

Section 5(4)(b) says :
Section 5(5) says

“Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (4) of this section, the President, in consultation with the National Defence Council, may deploy members of the armed forces of the Federation on a limited combat duty outside Nigeria if he is satisfied that the national security is under imminent threat or danger.”

I'm not sure of anything, I'm only asking a question which answer may actually make the whole situation complicated.

I do not think there's anywhere the constitution says the senate approval can be discarded because of emergency of any of such request.

If we can find reasons to discard due process now, who knows what reasons another government will come up with to jettison following due process over a totally different matter in the future?
Since nobody is sure then we can just wait until there is more clarification.
Abi, how you take see am?

Section 5 of the Constitution says the President, in conjunction with the National Defense Council, can deploy the military on a limited combat mission outside Nigeria if he thinks the country's national security is under imminent threat. The previous section is however clear that he can't declare war on another country without senatorial approval.

BlueRayDick:
Did this accession to Benin's request follow the due process of obtaining approval of the senate as provided in section 5 of the Nigerian constitution?

And how sure are we the legitimate government had not been toppled when the request was made?
When it comes to emergency intervention to save a democratically elected government due process of obtaining senatorial approval will render the intervention useless. Coups fail or succeed over a period of less than 12 hours, usually during the night. If we are to apply that rule, then there would be no need to intervene at all.

How are we sure the legitimate government had been toppled when the request was made?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 12:16am On Dec 08, 2025
The government of Benin requested for help nah. The Nigerian forces were sent at their government's request to save them from unconstitutional change of government. Nothing controversial about this.

P.S If the government is however successfully toppled and another government is already in place, the equation changes.
