They should call for external help cos if the whole of Mali should fall the West African region would be in serious trouble
They kicked out French and UN forces 2-3 years ago and instead started receiving help from Russia and Wagner. That was when the collapse started.

They have had the capital in a vice grip for weeks and are slowly strangulating it and stopping fuel supplies from getting through. Armoured vehicles, tanks, planes all require fuel. Bamako is doomed unless something miraculous happens.

Their president made several strategic errors.

Sowemimo years later explained what he meant by his hands being tied. He said because he will sentence the young co-defendants with Awolowo, there was no way he would allow Awolowo walk. He said his hands are tied because letting Awolowo walk with a slap on the wrist sentence will be injustice.

But u are right, it was a political case and one side of the divide would always claim the judge was unfair
Very political case.

Nigeria’s justice system is in tatters anyways. We can’t go anywhere with the judges we have.

It is not always advisable for a man to defend himself without the aid of a lawyer. Even Awolowo that was a lawyer who chose to defend himself at his trial over an attempted coup, ended up getting sentenced to prison despite putting up a good show.
Even if Johnny Cochran and Cicero had combined to represent Awolowo he would still have been found guilty. It was not a matter of him defending himself or someone else doing it.

You remember Sowemimo's "My hands are tied" statement?

I guess they had a rethink after considering the kind of economic loss that will happen to recreation centers and fun spots along that corridor should they carry on with the repairs.

They should postpone it to way after the holidays jare.
Why was it planned for this period in the first place? Thinking after deciding instead of thinking before deciding.

Not beating Lesotho and Zimbabwe at home cost us. Zimbabwe came last in the group and had no reason to get a draw in Nigeria.

Abeg commot Ndidi there before I open my eyes egbon. angry
More like Saka was not gettable for us. However, if we had called him up and somehow gave him a number of caps and then Olise later came along, he would have had no choice but to play wherever the coach played him.

Unless you are saying he would have retired from international football rather than move to LB.

If the government doesn't make a move to silence the voice of people like Gumi who hold serious influence, nothing will change. He even has a son who is a commissioned officer in Nigeria army whom I believe must also subscribe to the same ideology as his father. How does the country defeat terrorism like this?

Look at Shettima the VP too, he doesn't strike me as a person who believes in government pounding Islamic terrorists. His association with some of them in the past doesn't paint him in good light at all.

I don't know how Tinubu will do it, but he needs to do something and it should be fast before Kwara, Kogi and Ondo are overrun because when that happens even the Lagos he comes to for festivities won't be safe for us all.
Gumi himself is a retired military officer. It looks like that family get some evangelism wey dem dey do inside the army.

Bar Akanji/ Tomori, I don’t think we were getting the others to play for the SE.

I think the likes of K. Schade (Germany/ Brentford), Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa (how we missed this one is beyond me), Karim Adeyemi, Nmecha were the next tier we should have tied down and could have convinced but missed out on.

Yes. Those were all gettable.

I think we could have gotten Eze if we tried really hard. The guy made his England debut at 25. You are right about Musiala, Saka, Olise though. No chance.

Roland17:
Baba nothing to forgive jare. I still dey vex since yesterday, you would have seen my posts after the game. I still maintain my stance that the other levels should continue but the SE should be disbanded until further notice.

The truth is African football has caught up with us. We had a lot of time to develop our game and style but we have stagnated. Gone are the days when Nigeria used foreign based players as advantage against African countries. That Congo team paraded experienced players across their first 11 and bench.

We have to look outside and be more intentional about the talents we are looking to convince. I feel like we need to focus on our midfield.

After the WC we should be aggressive with the likes of E. Nwaneri (Arsenal), D. Udogie (Newcastle/ I think he has been capped for Italy but I don’t know if can switch), H. Ahanor (Atalanta), M. Kayode (Brentford), T. Iroegbunam (Everton).
Eberechi Eze got his England cap at 25. Someone we should have gotten since.

Udogie has a dozen caps already. So that ship has sailed.

Nwaneri’s own is dicey. He is highly rated in the England set up but because of how stacked England are in that position I think it will favour him longterm to chose us.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 3:35am On Nov 18, 2025
Hehe. People still dey lament.

If you don’t have hope you can’t lose hope. The truck is to not have any hope in the Super Eagles. That will protect you from disappointment.

With regards to the talent thing, one problem is the number of potential footballers that we have lost to pressing and other misadventures.

Also, many of our foreign-born players are top class and end up representing European countries.

In another matrix we line up like this.

………Aina……Akanji…….Tomori….…Saka…….

………………………..Ndidi……..Iwobi…………………..

…………..Olise…..……Musiala………..…Eze………

……………………………..Osimhen…………………...

And we win the World Cup. LOL

When it's time to burn down villages in the south, or harass civilians, Nigerian soldiers become very gallant.

This particular brigadier general story no clear at all. There's definitely something fishy about how the military is prosecuting this war against insecurity.
They ambushed him with overwhelming force, most likely because they knew about his movements.

He escaped with a small group and then communicated to the army where he was so that he could be rescued.

ISWAP intercepted the communications and went to get him before his rescuers got there.

The army appears to be compromised at all levels. The soldiers are fighting enemies without and enemies within.

Taking out a Brigadier General is no small feat. This is the first time since it will happen since this insurgency began. I fail to see the reason why the military will lie about something like this when the know it will be exposed. For what?
It seems he wasn't captured initially but had retreated with a small group of soldiers. It was when he radioed for an extraction team that ISWAP found his new location and got to him first.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2:

They actually lied. They didn't make it back to base. ISWAP successfully captured and killed a brigadier general of the Nigerian Army. The military is clearly compromised.
The guy escaped the initial attack but when he communicated them his new location for them to come rescue him ISWAP got there first.

Jack Bauer things. The moles inside the army are right at the centre.
